    Tranquil..
    Amanda G.

Oni, our eldest Shiba Inu recently passed and were were heartbroken. It was very sudden. She died at home with us and we were completely lost when it came to what to do. Hubby found All City Pets online and made an appointment for them to come and retrieve Oni to prepare her for us. They would not be able to come for a few hours more so we did what we could to make her look comfortable, especially with our toddler in the home. When the guy came to get her, he called my husband and asked that we bring Oni downstairs to him, making sure she was wrapped up. She covered her in a duvet and brought her down as a family. It was a little unnerving to have to put her in the back of a hatchback, in a large garbage bag. I know she's an animal but I didn't like to have to see that or have my kid see that. My husband out her in the car and I fixed the bag around her because I know I would have gotten upset if I saw the guy just pulling up the bag like she was a pile of laundry or garbage. It took about a week for us to get the call thay Oni's remains were ready for pick up. When we got the the place it looked nice, like a mini funeral home. They have a lot of different containers for your pet's remains. We figured we would be given something simple but nice. The same guy that picked her up came out to give us her remains. She was placed in a bag and in this tin that I did not care for. It looked like something you'd get from the Oriental Trading Company, in bulk. It was a rectangular tin with pictures of paw prints all over it. It still had the barcode label on the bottom. It just felt really cheap. There was no discussion thay I know of, regarding placing her in a nicer container. Others that I have spoken with have told me that their fur babies were placed in mice wooden urns that were beautiful. This container looks like something you'd stoe doggie treats in, on the counter. We're planning to have her remains made into something more beautiful so we can display her proudly and remember her fondly. All City Pets did the their job in a timely manner but I did not like the way that it is done and while I don't have much experience in the matter, as a grieving pet owner, I would think that we should feel much better about the experience. My whole family felt like the process could have been done in a more gentle way. We have another pup who we immediately got checked out, just in case, because losing Oni so suddenly really shook us. He's fine but death is inevitable and we will likely go elsewhere when the time comes to honor his life.

I must say, it's super normal to have the occasional miscommunication with someone over the phone. I did not know it would be so long before I saw my little guy again but it was worth it. I went in there and was instantly sad, this place is not set up like a business but definitely as a place to grieve....it looks like any other funeral home. I did not know an impression of Kodak's paw would be included but as soon as I saw it, I broke down. Thank you so much for giving this little a proper goodbye, the end of all his suffering is here and he can be at home forever

This will be my last review for Joe. I met him 3 years ago when my Lucky passed and it was and is still so hard to accept. My eyes still water when I talk about my fur baby. My other dog Shea passed on December 31, 2020. I had been dreading it everyday but I knew it was coming. When she finally said goodbye and went to meet her lifetime pal on the other side I called Joe and he told me he would be there first thing in the morning. True to his word Joe was there at 8am on New Years Day. When I said this is the last review for Joe its because I wont be replacing my babies anymore. It is far too painful to accept they are no longer here and I wish everyday i could kiss their noses just one more time. Joe gets more than 5 stars from me. He is so patient and understanding, never rushes, takes the time to listen and grieve. He was even so thoughtful as to not take Sheas ashes out infront of me when I bought her urn. He asked if I would like to see or not. Thanks Joe for the wonderful work you do. Highly recommend.

When I went to pick up my cat's ashes, they had his paw print for me also, which was very nice.

Instead, he was given pre-anesthetic medications and anesthesia for a SPAY procedure. Dr. Cohen later stated there had been a mix-up with another patient. When my mother picked him up, she was told by Dr. Cohen not to inform me of the incident (I have been in the field for ~15 years) and was discouraged from seeking care elsewhere. No post-procedure blood work or objective assessment was performed to ensure he was stable for discharge. We took him to a 24-hour emergency hospital, where he was found to be dehydrated, hypokalemic, and in acute kidney failure. He has since required multiple ER visits for vomiting, lethargy, and not eating, along with ongoing monitoring that has cost thousands of dollars. Dr. Cohen also stated he would not be taking action regarding the employee involved, citing that she had been "showing improvement," and added that she is pregnant. Regardless, verifying the correct patient prior to anesthesia is a fundamental responsibility of the veterinarian. If others have had similar experiences and are considering reporting concerns to the state veterinary licensing board, I encourage you to document everything and follow the appropriate formal complaint process. No pet or family should have to go through this.

I asked a question to the seller who answered me right away with a link to their actual website which features the full size of the urn I loved. Unfortunately for me though, this was during the pandemic and shipments were severely delayed, and the urn I wanted was backordered for months. I decided that I had waited all this time to find the urn that was just right for my beautiful Mom, so I would wait. Adam kept in touch with me throughout the process letting me know what was happening on their end, and he did everything he could to get my urn to me as soon as possible. We actually decided to order several smaller urns for the rest of the family as well, and Adam gave us a bulk discount for the trouble of having to wait for the backordered urn, which I really appreciated. I would definitely recommend At Peace Memorials to anyone, anywhere looking to purchase a beautiful urn at a fair price. Thank you again Adam, you made a very difficult process as smooth as possible.
