I met Justina while visiting a bridal show in San Ramon. She was working on someone's hair and I grabbed her card. Aside from being a bride at the time and networking with other event service vendors, I checked out her website and I asked to meet up with her to chit chat. I was indeed looking for someone to do my hair eventually. We met up for a drink and we just hit it off. Not only was her sample photos really interesting and unique, she had a great personality. She's very easy going, incredibly creative and worth every penny. My trial with her was amazing. She can curl your hair into gorgeous ringlets with a straightener. Huh? Yup. She did so many different hairstyles so quickly during that trial. And on my day of, I actually changed what I wanted from what I decided at the trial and she did a great job. As a runway model, she has been the stylist of choice for every high end bridal show, and she manages to create beautiful and amazing updos for 15-20 models on a huge time crunch. The first time I worked with Justina was about 2 years ago for a shoot in San Francisco. Not only was she super quick with hair styling, she was able to make the model look amazing with big, bouncy curls. Fast forward 2 years later and we were able to do another shoot together. She is very versatile in her style and is able to give you exactly what you ask for. The model was looking for full, big hair for the first look and an Old Hollywood type of structured bob. It's true...Justina is awesome! She did my hair for *two* weddings (one week apart). I booked her for my wedding in the Bay Area and thought I had to find another hairstylist for L.A., but this girl is the sweetest ever: booked me another trial session to pick my second look and meet me in L.A. with all her gear in tow. Despite my thick, coarse hair Justina knocked out two fabulous looks: vintage hair pin curls with a side part (done w/ a curling iron to expedite); and a glamorous up-do with sculpted curls in back. She also styled my bridesmaids and jr. bridesmaid each with different hairstyles--from half down up-do to long curls to braided up-do and even a braided waterfall up-do. Justina knocked them all out fabulously! Her prices are also very reasonable. With two weddings in the works budget was a major factor, trust me. Justina is punctual, speedy, creative, and an all-around badass. I once asked her to help out with a shoot involving six models. Justina did everyone's hair in a different gorgeous updo without having to look at any reference photos, and still finished faster than the two makeup artists we had. She even stayed around for an extra hour in case anyone's hair needed any touching up (but it turned out that she did such an amazing job that everyone's hair stayed put)! First off, let me start by saying, I have super thick hair and tons of it. For my wedding, I grew my hair out very long and after the wedding I cut it off and donated it to Locks of Love. Needless to say, Justina had her hands full working with my hair for my wedding. When I ended up deciding on an up-do, I was worried that my hair would be to heavy to stay up the way I wanted it. Our wedding was a 60's theme, Mad Men style wedding and I wanted a very 60s not-quite-beehive-y type look. Justina made it happen with ease and also glamorized my bridesmaids, mom and mother-in-law. Justina was easy to work with, calm and professional. There was no stress on my wedding day and it was in a large part thanks to all of the great vendors I worked with. Justina is AMAZING! She was recommended by my makeup artist, Julianne Chai, to do hair for my wedding in Sonoma this July. We started off with a scheduling misunderstanding for my hair trial, which Justina handled extremely professionally. She came to my apartment to do the trial and created a beautiful updo from the Pinterest board I had created (and not much other direction from me!). Justina works really quickly, which is such a plus on a wedding day! She styled my hair, 3 of my bridesmaids, and my mother-in-law. She was totally calm and flexible when one of my high-maintenance bridesmaids wasn't satisfied with her 'do (although trust me, the first version was great and looked just like the picture!) and took everything down and redid it until my friend was happy. She knew exactly what would look good on each girl and listened to their input and direction carefully, crafting beautiful, unique styles for each one. JUSTINA IS AMAZING!!! She did my hair for one of my first photo shoots with a local SF photographer who was providing images for an art gallery. The hair styling from that shoot is to this day the coolest hair I've ever been able to rock ;)... my hair was long and jet black, and she braided platinum blonde extensions in to create a bad ass rapunzel-esque look. I later collaborated with her in a candy themed photo shoot, which turned out just as amazing. Justina created hats out of CANDY. Yes. Amazing. Justina is a hair magician! I am the type of person who has all these ideas of what I want to do with my hair but I never go through with it because I assume it will either look awful on me, or that the hairstylist might screw it up. I don't have any of these fears when it comes to getting my hair done by Justina. I fully trust her and the products that she uses. She is all about using safer products to protect her client's hair. She does it right - no shortcuts. I finally decided to get an ombre done and Justina was the only one I trusted to do it. The transition from brown to blonde was so subtle and natural looking, and I really loved the final result. She even went back and added more toner since she felt the color wasn't just right yet. She is always looking out for her clients and wants them to look their best, even if that means she'll be spending more time on your hair than she expected. Then she proceeded to make me even happier by curling my hair so perfectly so I could really get the full effect of my new ombre hairstyle. Justina is an amazing artist! Hiring her was actually pure luck, as I booked Audrey (Makeup by Audrey) for my wedding makeup, and she and Justina worked as a team for my wedding look. I was SO impressed when we did my hair trial, as Justina was able to look at my many hairstyle photo inspirations and put them together into one cohesive look that worked for me, my face, and my hair. I loved how it looked, and didn't have to do multiple hairdos, multiple trials, or even think to look at other hairstylists. She knew how to best incorporate my veil and comb into the look, as well. I had a couple minor changes that I wanted to make that I mentioned to her by email the next day, and when my wedding day came months later, Justina incorporated those changes without me having to say a word.
