First off, how the fuck is this scam other companies still going? If multiple reviews are about the same damn problem? Because guess what I came to see the same exact thing. My dad had one installed and when he got it, they told him to start his truck every couple days so it wouldn't kill his battery. Guess what? it killed his battery he doesn't have a car at the moment because of this. We already tried jumping it, that didn't do jack shit. Now, let me start on the fake ass customer service. Some lady name is Sharon and I believe answered sounded like she was going to be cool, she me that what I was asking wasn't part of her department so when she went to transfer me to a "new one" which would've been OK until it rang once and then hung up on me. When I called back, it doesn't give me an option to talk to customer service nor even look up my dad's account and talk to someone so they blocked my phone from doing that. Moral of the story don't use this shit ass service with their shit ass fake customer service it's all a scam and now they left someone that doesn't have money to get a new battery at the moment screwed out of the vehicle. Caught my DUI in 2012, had this device put in my car for the 1st time in 2016 by THEIR mechanic, paid them for 10 months of what was supposed to be a year long term and just when I thought i was getting close to a year, they told me the 10 months didn't count because I "didn't sign the equipment lease". The equipment ruined my vehicle with electrical issues and I had to buy numerous batteries due to the machine draining my battery so many times that I lost count. My 2nd time trying to work with them and having this machine in my car, for the same 2012 DUI, was from 2020 - Present!.. My lease was initially signed, but everytime I get an Eligibility Date for Removal, they make me sign a new "lease" or they will refuse to take my payment for Unlock/Calibration etc., forcing me to miss work and become more in debt. My Removal Eligibility Date has been pushed back by months, so many times, again I've lost count, but every time I'm going through a hardship and cant afford to pay, my car ends up down and I miss work. Already struggling to pay rent/bills, take care of my kids and make it to work, Intoxalock has refused take payment unless a new lease was signed, pushed my eligibility date back everytime my time is up, usually if I can't pay so my car would be down and in Lockout for weeks at a time, a few times, months. I get penalized by Intoxalock over and over for being poor, Im on a government program to afford a place to live and receive government assistance. I wasn't on any of these programs, in need of help until this 2nd time having the Intoxalock device in my vehicle (20' - 24'). More importantly, I've learned my lesson and am thankful for what the Judge sentenced me, because now I know better. But that was over 10 years ago and if anything drives me to need a drink, it's this abusive company taking all of my money, subject to have my right to travel taken away from me if I can't pay, when I don't have it. And then keeping me in this system and taking away from me and my children, LITERALLY. I have had the State Representative's Office in contact with Intoxalock on my behalf for a while now and without them finally letting me off of this machine, I think I have some people in my corner who understand and see what has been going on all these years. The Judge only sentenced me to have this machine in for a year, I haven't caught any new charges involving drinking, haven't been in any accidents and am thankful for Intoxalock making me realize with this machine, that even a little bit is too much, when it comes to drinking and driving. But to have me on it this long and refusing to let me go and continuously denying me account information when I owe, stopping me from making it to work and to my kids because I owe, etc .. for so long now. It's wrong! My State Representative's Office and I have a new point of contact, but at this point I'm tired of being bullied by the people and operators at Intoxalock, that I'm afraid to take the call because they might trick me again. My most recent Removal Eligibility Date was 9/9/24, before that July, 2024, before that, Oct., 2023 and so on and so on, i have my right to receive an actual license from the DMV, but Intoxalock still chooses to financially lynch me, instead of realizing my time is up. I am a 36 year old Native American/Black Father of 4 and I'm struggling to do for my family because I can't afford to pay Intoxalock in order to work consistently while waiting check to check, when i pay them weekly, for years. If I owe them they won't give me info on my account but when they want me to sign a "new Lease", they won't accept payment to get out of Lockout to drive.... Paid an enrollment fee. My dad didn't have enough air to operate it. Paid to have it installed and removed through the mechanic. Had it in the truck for a week. Just long enough to get am appointment to get it taken out. Sitting there it locked out. Paid them over 200 dollars for nothing. Horrible customer service. Can't understand them. I have had the go ahead from my states authorization for over a month. All of the correct paperwork has been sent over. I have been calling intoxalock everyday asking if they have recieved authorization. And of course they say they have not. I have had my states probation send them all the paperwork to the email they asked us to multiple times. I don't know what to do. This is just disgusting and awful. read more

This company is a scam. They do not follow the state law and will not remove the device on the court date. Instead they need to send you the final report and you need to get the regular license before removing. Best scam is they will not send me the final report. They said they sent it and have escalated to compliance to resend the report, but no one follows up. It's more than 1 month past my legal date and I still can not have it removed or have my regular license reinstated without their report. The managers in customer service just gives you a scripted apology and they will not do anything. They just say to call back in a few days to see if there is any update. Huge scam! read more

One word if you're thinking about using this company for your iid: Recondsider. Nearly impossible to connect via phone to an actual human, horrible customer service, and excessive fees. They will sign you up for autopay, tell you it's been taken off multiple times- and then automatically pull money out of your bank account continuously and excessively. Not to mention when I signed up for these services,the agent told me the payment I made to open the account would cover the first month of all payments, and that I would not be automatically charged ever. They still had me pay for the first month after telling me I wouldn't have to, and put me on perma auto charge mode. Agents will repeat what you're saying and dance around questions to avoid answering. This company is abysmal. Use a better iid company. THIS COMPANY WILL STEAL FROM YOU. STAY AWAY. I used this company as I unfortunately ran into legal trouble and needed a device to start my car. I had no idea how shitty and worthless a company, and the individuals in it, can be. First off, they make it impossible to talk to a literal human being. That's because the company itself doesn't know what it is doing. They will intentionally set your end date two days after your calibration date, so that way you have to double pay. And now? Four months after after I've closed my account with them, and removed my credit card, I'm finding out this company as quietly been withdrawing $4.00 weekly for no reason whatsoever. When I called and asked why, I was told that they gave my credit card information to a third party - THEY GAVE MY CC INFORMATION AWAY - and , while it was clearly THEIR fault, which they admitted too - I (the customer) would need to jump through hoops to cancel the credit card with the third party company they authorized without my permission to use.....so I now need to engage with an unknown company that, without my knowledge, was given my credit card information, so I can get the money back Intoxalock has been quietly stealing. I can't wait for this company to collapse in on itself. A BBB claim has been filed and my petty self will be on this dumb ass companies neck until I see reprocussions. Do better. read more

Horrible company devices fails when ever they appear to need cash. I follow all the rules , but I still have fails. When I call, they say all the same old garbage about the rules, and when I try to talk, they yell at me and talk over me. Horrible company all about money, even the DMV does not understand why I can go from .025 to .017 in a matter of minutes. 1) Sent in rebate for and receipt same day device was installed. 7 months later, when device was removed, realized rebate was never applied to account. CustSvc (term used loosely) sent me new form in email. Sent everything in a 2nd time and got reply "rebate cannot be applied to inactive account. Called back in, explained situation, and was told that nothing could be done. Asked to talk to Spvsr, rep said not an option. 2) Got deferral for early removal and called Intoxalock for appointment. They claimed they needed to "verify" the letter from MVD and stalled long enough to get another payment. Then charged $60 "admin fee" and another $80 "removal fee". Moral of the story - stay away from this outfit, they are deceptive at best. read more

Initially - when I first contacted Intoxalock - I was treated with the utmost respect and the process went really well. Even the local install shop was amazing. However, soon after my car required repair. It was in the shop for four weeks. I provided Intoxalock's number, and notified them that my car required work. The engine had to be replaced. When I picked up the car, I was notified by the dealer that the Intoxalock had to be disconnected - and would need to be reinstalled. I contacted Intoxalock who accused me of "tampering" with their equipment. I asked to be transferred to a supervisor who was very helpful, however. I was told I would not have to pay the reinstall fee and that any payment I had to make on my account during this month would transfer to my new device which required a new account. Imagine my surprise when the install shop charged me full price - again - for a new install. As well as charging me $70 for the "disconnect" of the original equipment. I contacted customer service 3x (all out-sourced of course) before I could speak to someone that would listen. Again, I was told that this didn't seem right - and she would get back to me within 48 hours after she escalated the situation to her supervisor. That was four days ago. Then - I received a "lockout in 4 days" message for a level 3 violation. I called Intoxalock again who said that before they could help me, I would need to pay the initial fees of a brand new set up - again - after being told these fees were waived. Magically, after this amount was paid again, the lockout warning disappeared. I am now over $800 for installation alone for something I had no control over. As I said - the people in the beginning are very helpful. It ends there. read more

I have had nothing but problems since we've had it installed...voluntarily, for safety measures. The sales rep, A. burke was super fast at getting me signed up by calling, but now that i need a reimbursement for having to have the machine serviced yet again, no reply! I've called the service center, which was helpful in setting up the services, multiple times, the only reason i didn't give it 1 star, but there is quite a language barrier. It makes explaining and getting to a point where we understand each other very time consuming and difficult! Over $80 a month and $37 to service it when it's not time or user fault...and they don't repay. not to mention getting stuck in a bad area or at night MULTIPLE times. read more

Worst company Ive ever dealt with! Same battery issues! Device drains battery even when not driving, once you switch the battery you automatically get a lockout with 4 days to clear. You have to pay your service center $40 PLUS intoxalock $75 plus your fee every time! If you dont clear it within 4 days you get a complete lockout and have to get towed to your service center. I changed out 2 alternators because the dead battery is burning out the alternator. I do not recommend this company! I had the Intoxalock installed voluntarily. They did not show up as promised to install. When they missed my appointment, they were kind enough to come to my house to install. The next day my car wouldn't start. I charged it, drove it, then the next morning I went to start it, it would not start. I contacted customer service. NOTE: Their customer service is not in the U.S., and you get someone different every time, and they do not have ANY knowledge of the device itself! They insisted it was my battery (which I just replaced 6 months prior). I took the battery to be checked and of course, it was fine. I called customer service again, and said I needed to get this resolved or have the device removed from my car. They transferred me to the removal department! The contractor came out to remove the device, was very nice, and advised there is a power save mode they could add to the device. Why didn't customer service know this, and why don't they automatically put this on the device knowing it has a high battery draw? I paid an installation fee, 2 months rental, a removal fee, totaling over $330 for a device that made my car inoperable for a week. I feel extremely sorry for those who have this device and have to worry about violations and attorney fees as a result of the incompetence of the device and customer service. read more

It's horrible, they lie to you, make excuses, and even steal from you. I have a recorded conversation where the representative told me not to switch companies and that they wouldn't charge me the $75 for unlocking the device. The device got locked because they didn't specify that I needed to call when it showed an error to correct it. If I didn't call, it would lock after the third error, and I'd have to pay for the unlock. I told them it was abusive and that I preferred to switch companies because it was voluntary, but they insisted. When the court requested me to join the program, that's when they charged me.
