Had multiple lockouts due to this issue which costs me $90 each. Last one I dropped truck off with shop. Entered in all the maintenance info before I handed over the keys. My device decided the best time to go off every 5 minutes while a tornado was forming. I didn't have many problems until I had to have work done on my vehicle. I reported the maintenance ahead of time and asked tons of questions. They said don't worry. The mechanic at some point ( it was out of my possession for 2 days) the car and missed a bunch of tests. The device was installed in my car in June of 2024. Since it has been getting colder outside here in New York, my car battery dies daily. We cannot plug a trickle charger, or any kind of charger into it overnight, as it will be stolen. We have had lockouts for battery dying, camera compliance because probation told us to move the camera, and another lock out for literally no reason. Yesterday, I went home on my lunch break, and when I tried to leave my house to go back to work, the device had a message on it saying, "Car unable to start device not serviced in time." The device was just serviced on December 18th, and my next calibration date isn't until February. So I called intoxaloc, who is never any help, and asked why my car was locked out. The girl on the phone told me she couldn't tell me and that I'd have to get my device serviced and call them back. Earlier today though I called and a male told me there is no lockout message on their end. They double charge us, customer service is awful and gives no real answers, their staff is very rude. Had for 3 months and it is the absolute bane of my existence. Mind you, this was not a required installation. We did this to help keep my fiancé feeling secure while he stayed sober. I wouldn't care any other time, but when you are locked out of your vehicle in the Texas summer heat, the last time you want to do is reiterate the same sentence 4 times to someone who isn't understanding you. Wow, what a scam. First, I can't believe this device is legal. While you are driving it will ask for a retest, you have to remove both hands from the steering wheel, put on the mouthpiece, hold the device and blow into it for about 5 seconds. No device should be approved by the government that requires you to be so distracted while driving, specially if it needs you to remove both hands from the steering wheel. And second, if you park your car, turn it off and leave, it may ask you for a retest, which you will miss, which will cause a lockout, then you have to pay $75 to the company and $55 to the service provider to reset. I have had the devise for 2 weeks, I have already been locked out 3 times. So ya, big scam. I don't know if there are any better choices out there, but this has to be the worst. Absolute WORST company for customer service. Anytime you call you get a foreign person who talks down to you and acts like your stupid. The system totally drains your battery if you don't start it every 3 days and they expect you to just keep in on a trickle charge. (Of course NO ONE tells you this until its too late) Because both of the batteries in my truck were totally dead and I didn't have a trickle charge and didnt know I needed one AND I didn't start it for 5 days, when I finally got it started, it shows an error that I tried to unplug it - which I did not do- and it locks you out where you have to pay $75 to have it reset and a fee at the calibration center to reset it when it isn't my fault. When you call customer service 3 times and they REFUSE to let you speak to a manager and instead just leave you on hold for over 30 minutes and then say they WILL NOT transfer you...."So called Brian" doesn't need to be working in customer service. Exploitation of a mandatory state requirement. I, like most, did not read the reviews... IF you can get ahold of anybody and if you can understand them, their CS is extremely poor. It seems like you are talking to someone on their first day on the job. In my case, I have had to get a replacement for the actual device 9 separate times. So when your device malfunctions after getting gas, you have to call a tow truck and wait for them while sitting in front of the gas pump for hours. Things break, I get it, but nine units in 13 months. I finally got AAA because it takes them months to reimburse you for a tow...if they don't lose your submittal for reimbursement every other time. The hours spent on the phone on hold (sometimes for hours) must equal days at this point. Get a therapist before getting their product and services. read more
