Now, when we moved forward with installing cameras and speakers we discovered that the wires they installed were stapled in place and run against the wall behind the spray foam insulation. Security One allowed someone who is not family call in and change the codes on my father's home without showing any proof as to who they were or what their relation to my father was. The codes were changed again two days after my father passed, again without checking proof that my father actually died, who they were and what their relation to my father was. I really have to repeat this: they DID NOT check ID's at all, ask for proof of death, or relationship. When the codes were changed/deleted it effectively locked me out of my father's home and allowed a non family member open access to all his personal effects, including cash, jewelry and guns. And just to make it absolutely clear: my father, at the time of his passing, was unmarried/single and living alone. The two people that added themselves to his account THE DAY AFTER HIS PASSING were merely on the emergency call list. That does NOT entitle them access to his home, to change/add/delete security codes and to add themselves to his account. I find it down right scary that a security company would allow this to happen and would make sure to choose a company that actually cares about the safety of their customers and their families in such a time. I have contacted S1 many times over the last few months requesting full logs of all of the entries to my father's home for the day and month after his passing and they refuse to release this information to me unless I pay them a ridiculous amount of money. This information is needed for detectives to research the case that has been opened into the burglary of my father's home. Due to S1's negligence and general apathy, my father's home was ransacked and burgled. Stay FAR away from this company.

One of the other businesses had no ratings on Yelp so I deleted that one, and the third one wanted to send out two guys and charge me $200 (they took almost 24 hours to respond). Between text messaging and the conversation on Yelp, they managed to schedule me in today, and they sent out one (cute) guy and only charged me $120. He helped me plug my TV back in, removed a TV and a mount from the wall in another bedroom, and also showed me how to plug in my VCR. I would recommend them to anyone in the New Braunfels area.

It's been more than 3 months including many phone calls and 4 visits. they said 3 months ago that they were having phone system problems. We contacted several local (San Antonio-metro area) electrical contractors to investigate pricing and timing of backup power; primarily to keep the heat and lights on. We selected Advanced Solar & Electric (ASE) for the job. The wait was long -- 8.5 months from order until delivery -- delays based on Covid-19 and Supply-Chain issues; not the contractor. IMPORTANT NOTE: When tied into the electrical-grid, Solar systems do not work without inbound power from the grid. The ASE Team did their best to keep me informed of equipment status. They submitted plans to the City and CPS Energy, obtained necessary permits, and once the equipment arrived, they were very flexible in scheduling the installation with me. My biggest frustration with ASE was the fact they don't have on-staff plumbers or sub-contract with local plumbers to add a fuel-source for your generator-set and assist homeowners in controlling costs or being taken advantage of by unscrupulous profiteers. I needed a tap directly off the natural gas-meter approximately 20 - 25 feet in length. When selecting a plumber; quality of work and pricing were of paramount concern. Price bids were all over the map -- ranging from a high of $5900.00 down to the $1200.00 range. We selected the $1200.00 bid as the plumber had done previous work for us. In the end, the process was time-consuming but we're very happy with the generator-set installation. The overall appearance and integration with our pre-existing solar system (SunPower - a different vendor) and the additional gas-line tap are aesthetically pleasing. The generator kicked into action yesterday -- 2/3/2022 when local power went out due to our latest Winter storm. It ran for 6.5 hours until CPS restored local power and the auto-switchback feature is great.
