I had to have CT scans with IV contrast on 7/7. I was extremely anxious about going especially solo. Check in went smoothly and I was very relieved having such a sweet technician assist me. She explained everything as we went along and her calming, compassionate disposition helped me so much! Thank you for having such an exemplary employee! Had an unfortunate incident at work the other month where an x-ray needed further investigation and to be frank, I cringed when advised MRI was in order. For MRIs, you need approval from the insurance company so there was a wait and was informed I'll be contacted by InVision Imaging (II) to schedule the appointment. My previous MRI which was conducted by a different service provider wasn't that memorable as I don't do well in small, confined spaces. Yes, I am claustrophobic. With the loss of strength and full motion of one arm, I was eager to proceed as daily life has been challenging at times. I had to wait several weeks before I could schedule my MRI. On appointment day, I was anxious to get this over with but at the same time, had to deal with anxiety where I had to take deep breaths intermittently. II, also previously known as Honolulu Imaging Center, is located in Hale Pawa'a on the first floor. I don't know what I was thinking but I took the first available appointment at 6:00am. Perhaps I wanted to get it over with but I had to wake up earlier than usual. I later found out I had the first appointment of the day but the person with the appointment after me arrived before I did at 550am. We waited patiently before the doors open at 6am. After completing a few forms and submitting them to the receptionist, my name was soon called and was greeted by Lucy, the technician who performed my MRI that morning. I was escorted to a locker to store my belongings. I was advised no jewelry prior to my appointment so I removed my necklace and bracelet at home. My heart skipped a bit when I saw the machine as I walked in. I had to trust the technician and reminded myself I needed this to further investigate my unfortunate injury back in July. Lucy asked me a series of questions and thoroughly explained today's process. She asked if I was claustrophobic which I acknowledged where she also informed me of the emergency switch that was given to me should I experience a panic attack. From my first MRI experience last year where I made the mistake of opening my eyes during the imaging process, this time I repeatedly reminded myself to keep the eyes shut the whole time. To be frank, I cannot recall how long this process took but the next thing I knew Lucy told me I was done. Whew... As I retrieved my belongings from the locker and headed back to the receptionist area, I was stunned when presented with the bag of chocolates that had "InVision Imaging" printed on top prior to leaving the office. Overall, an amazing experience at II where I wouldn't mind coming back, or more like I highly recommend others. The staff were efficient and cordial from scheduling the appointment to the very end. I now await the results from the orthopedic surgeon, who I will be seeing this weekend. read more

This is my third visit to InVision over the past ten years--each time to a different one of their facilities--and every single time I've had a superb experience. The staff is prompt, professional, and kind, the facility is beautiful (I feel like I am in an expensive spa), and the service is outstanding. The nice little gifts (chocolates this time) at the end are a lovely bonus. I have had a CAT scan for a broken arm, and the staff was very gracious because I was in a lot of pain. This recent MRI was easy and the staff make sure I was informed, comfortable, and warm. One can tell the people there enjoy their jobs. Thanks for a great experience. read more

First time I've been to InVision. They are located in the Hale Pawa'a building off of Beretania Street and located on the 1st floor. When I walked in the waiting area was spacious and I was greeted by friendly staff. After filling out the necessary paperwork, I waited maybe less than 5 minutes and I was called in. My tech was very helpful and explained process. We went over a few things and I was ready to go and get an MRI done. They provided disposable earplugs and headphones with some music playing. The entire process took about 25 minutes. After I was done, I collected my belongings and headed out to the waiting room and to the front desk. The staff provided validation for my parking and also a small bag of noms. I was surprised and appreciated the gesture. They also gave bottled water available in the waiting room. The personnel were all pleasant and efficient, and they explained the procedure well. The facility is very nice, clean and not crowded. I had an MRI here and have only positive things to say about my time there. Parking is convenient and inexpensive in the garage next door. I would return here I do have one caveat !! After reading reviews about delays in their obtaining insurance company Pre-authorizations, I experienced a similar occurrence. I would recommend checking frequently to make sure the forms are submitted in a timely fashion, and a response received from your insurance company, before making your appointment. read more

I took my elderly Mother for a CT scan appointment earlier today and feel compelled to comment on the experience. From the time we entered we were greeted warmly and professionally, the procedure was performed by a very friendly technician, she explained the process to my Mother thoroughly. Upon departure we were thoughtfully given 2 packets of chocolates, a very warm gesture. Definitely an A+ experience! read more

The staff is very professional and treats you with compassion. It's scary to have procedures done in big machines. I arrived and filled out many questions on the forms given at the front desk. Once I was called to the back room I was asked the questions verbally to confirm that I understood the questions. The technician was thorough and explained what you will be seeing and doing and what to expect. This was very helpful to keep you calm. You are given a set of scrubs to wear and are walked into the room. Definitely a good experience. I don't know if I would want to go back again though. read more

My journey continues toward a hip replacement. Next step CT scan for Surgeon. Too young to have to go through this. Okay, so not so young being on other side of 65. After years of activities and genetics, this will be my first surgery so it's great when you have services that make the process easier to deal with. The staff member who signed me in was friendly and welcoming. The imaging tech was professional and friendly, got me in and out quickly. Today I had an MRI appointment. As I registered, I finally got called to go inside to meet technician. They explained to me easily to understand and go through it. It lasted, 20 min. I thought it be forever. However, I was finished doing that MRI lying down, needed help which they assisted to help me. Very nice and so helpful. First time here. Had to do a MRI on my shoulder, hurt it in a fall. Everything was explained to me on what's going to happen, All the staff worker's has excellent customer care, since it's my first MRI. Going into the tunnel tube for half an hour talking pictures. You need to be calm and breathe normal. You have ear plugs and head phone for music of your choice. They also give you a panic button in case you're not able to do it. I did not know what to expect but from checking in at the front office to the procedure itself I was treated with so much Aloha. Everything was explained about what was going to happen during the procedure and they made me feel very comfortable. Had to bring my daughter here for an MRI. First time being here they are open early and open 7 days a week. The place is easy to find , very clean and staff are very organized and friendly. They were able to get us in and work with us according to my availability. Waiting area is very nice and clean also offered us a water bottle from their fridge in the waiting area. I am extremely anxious and claustrophobic with MRIS. But at my appointment yesterday, I felt like I conquered! 99% of it had to do with the accommodations of the staff and their patience. At one point I was comfortable enough to almost fall asleep. I will have to do recurrent MRIs due to my situation and I know that I will request to have them at InVision. Truly grateful for the front staff, technician and assistant. Here are some things that I felt helped lower my claustrophobia. 1. Request larger machine 2. Request a companion with you. I had a mini foot massage which really really helped keep me relaxed. 3. Ask technician what are some things you will feel in there. Example, I had a warm feeling in my throat, neck, and extreme dry mouth but once I was told it's normal, I wasn't as nervous moving on. Also the machine has heat that comes off of it. Knowing what to expect helped me. 4. I took 1mg of lorazepam. A very low dose that kept me aware but I did feel calmer than I would have. 5. Drink lots of water night before. 6. Lastly, if you have acid reflux, allergies or sinus issues, try to address them prior. Being able to breathe through my nose comfortably I believe truly made this experience easier from my last. P.S. I also put a little essential oil prior at the tip of my nose. Lol read more

This location is always professional and caring. They make sure you are comfortable and relax prior to your MRI. I have come to this location twice to do an MRI. When you walk in the front door you are greeted with music and calming ambiance. The front office is always welcoming to you. After filing out your papers they call you in the back in another room to make sure your information is correct. Once that is done you can put your things in the locker and get change for your MRI. Kaipa is awesome and he makes sure you are calm and relax. Once getting in the room for your MRI the staff gets you ready quick and before you know it it's over. They will provide music for you as well. When walking out make sure you get your validation for parking and they will offer you cookies and water. Thank you again guys! read more

Top notch experience. I'm a Radiologist and just moved to Honolulu. The experience couldn't have been better from beginning to completion. They didn't know my profession when I tried to make an appointment so my experiences what to expect for anyone. They were able to schedule me promptly. Michelle and Crystal made scheduling and overall preparation a breeze. Darnell, the technologist, was outstanding, couldn't have been better. I was treated with complete respect the entire time. Pet scan tech was crude, curt, and lacked any decency of treating his patient with courtesy and helpfulness. He might be skilled in his field but sorely lacks in his treatment of his patient/customer. We left feeling disappointed, unhappy, and irritated. Office staff could also extend some common courtesy of helping their patients/customers with human kindness. The other InVision branches where I have received services have provided excellent care and courtesy so we were very disappointed to encounter this kind of treatment at this Hale Pawaa imaging branch. read more

People at the front desk are not friendly at all. They seem to be in a rush and you are treated different then others. Also the technician doing the MRI,CT,Pet scan is doing 3-4 patients at a time. He forgot what he told one patient and he's running around trying to help everyone. I was never offered water like the others that walked in. So tell me it depends on what kind of scan you get before you give a box of chocolate's. I saw only a chosen few that received chocolates. Everyone should be treated the same no matter the type of scan. I've been to other imaging center's and this is the worst. The front desk need to tone it down when taking to patients and other staff. Also what the prep person tells you is different then what happens when you get there. I heard a patient yelling at the technician. I will never go back to this place, its like no one cares, their just there for the pay check. read more
