Inya was kind enough to get me in on short notice after my stylist canceled on me at the last minute. She discussed my options with me in detail and answered all of my questions. I was scheduled with Brian and drove from Flagstaff for my 11:30 am appointment. I arrived a little early and sat comfortably outside their suite until Brian was ready for me, which was promptly at 11:30, to my surprise and delight. I found Brian to be affable, insightful and I enjoyed chatting with him. And the best part of it all, he was incredibly gentle! Getting my hair done remains one of the most uncomfortable and painful of experiences, even as a 30-year old woman. I had just resigned myself to having my head assaulted every time but Brian made me realize that it's totally possible to have my hair braided without immense pain. I could hardly believe it. He did a spectacular job, provided valuable insight on hair care and respected my wishes. And, to top it off, I snagged a gorgeous dress in their boutique that was just my size! Inya did my hair at a salon in Houston over 5 years ago and it looked AMAZING! She dyed the knots on my frontal and sewed in my extensions perfectly! She did it with such perfection, it looked as if the hair was coming directly out of my scalp! I haven't been able to find anyone to to do my hair as well as Inya since! I booked a genie ponytail with Brian on 9/21 and received several reminders for my upcoming appointment and confirmed I will be there 10/3 @ 1PM through their appointment booking system. I arrived a little early and waited patiently for Brian to arrive. There were two other stylist in the room, one was servicing a client and the other, Courtney, was setting up for hers. At about 10 after, the other stylist attempted to contact Brian unsuccessfully, but Courtney asked if I needed my hair washed and I said yes. Courtney was really sweet and washed my hair, gave me a consultation about how to remedy my hair breakage and stuck me under the dryer. Brian had not arrived yet and no one heard from him. I sat under the dryer a good while and when it turned off, I moved to Brian's chair. By now, it's in the 2 o'clock hour and Brian still had not shown up and no one heard from him. At 2:30, I decided to leave. One of the stylists asked if I wanted to continue waiting or come back later to get my hair done but I declined. I'd already wasted 2.5 hours of my day waiting for someone that confirmed he'd be there and never showed. I've had stylist be late but never no show before and unfortunately I left a beauty salon looking worse than when I entered. read more

I scheduled an appointment for my daughter with Inya's new stylist Brian. He took over 4 hours for a press and curl on my daughter, then never really finished because he burned her! I wasn't going to write a negative review because I have always had good service from Inya personally, but I will NEVER book another appointment with Brian. Inya refunded my money for the service and did seem genuinely concerned. I'm still very disappointed when I see the scar on her forehead. read more

This was my second time coming here. I came back because Jasmine does amazing dreadlocks! She washed my hair, then used the interlocking method to get it nice and tight. She even gave me a fresh edge up! I also had a chance to meet Inya the owner and she was so welcoming. Great hospitality and great company. I am writing this review as a former prospective employee, not a client. I am writing this review to say that is you are looking to work at this salon, I already know of one employee who quit due to the way she treats her staff. Now, back to why I say do not work for this company. I applied for the position a while back. I graduated school, she hit me up, I said to let me know when she had and opening. She said that she was hiring, so we set up an interview. The interview was fine and laid back. She spoke about how her shop and the people in it take care of each other. How they are like family and that was the type of shop she wanted to run. I'm like cool.. That's what I'm looking for. The way she was talking made her seem like a really genuine and sweet person, so I was excited at the thought of working there with her. However, after the interview, I didn't hear anything, so I message her about a question I had, because I wanted to know if I was hired or not. She answered the question, but didn't tell me if I had the job or not. So, ok. On another day, I'd asked if I could come into the shop to check it out. See what it looks like(because I wanted to know if I was hired or not). She says "no problem". I go to the shop, she says hello with the most insincere half smile. I sit and we chat a tiny bit. The other girl there says Hi!! So are you going to be the new assistant(this child was really sweet. She was very nice.). Inya says, no, that's the other girl. She didn't get the job(me). So I said, so you hired the other girl? She says yeah, and I make a pouty face, she shrugs it off and says sorry. That was it. She wasn't going to tell me if I got the job or not, had I not gone up there...and even then, when I found out, she didn't give me a reason. So, I say hey.. can you give me some tips on interviewing since I'm new to this industry for future interviews? Folks.... Do you know what her response was??? She said in these EXACT words that " The reason I didn't hire you is because you don't have a car." I'm thinking, ok...well maybe she thinks I can't make the hours on the bus or something. No!! She continues.. " You're 40 years old and you don't have a care which tells me you don't have any hustle in you. She said if you worked here, I would have to be on you to hustle and I don't want to have to do that." Y'all.. I kept it soooooo cool, but I was soooooo pissed. So I had to politely tell her she didn't know what she was talking about. This chick is rude as hell, and is feeling herself a little too much. She acts as if she has had her stuff together all her life and as if she forget where she came from. Everything about her is money money money. But it really pissed me off when she said that because ONE, it was rude as hell and TWO, she didn't know what she was talking about. I've raised 4 kids on my own for the past 22 years. You can't raise 4 kids on your own if you have no hustle. I've had my own house, paid all my bills, had cars for as far back as I can think. You can't do that if you have no hustle. So what does she mean?? Why would you assume something like that about someone like that when you know nothing about that person? How did she know I wasn't in a bad accident and didn't have anxiety when it comes to driving? How does she even know if I wanted a car? How does know I don't like taking the bus? I told her that that was the last of my priorities. I'm just writing this to let you all know be cautious when making a decision about working with her. She's boujee, non humble and mean. And for her to be feeling herself like that, she's been in the game for 20 years and works out of a tiny suite the size of my living room if not smaller with 4 chairs. She doesn't even own a salon, so humble yourself chick. I had an appointment for 1:00. I didn't get in the chair until 1:40. I told Cortney that I wanted my collar bone length hair to be trimmed. Next thing I know she had cut it off to the point that it was at the end of the tape of my neck. Once I saw it I told her to stop cutting my hair in the back. I even showed her a picture of what I want. She did what she wanted. I wish I would have went some where else but it's too late. I'm so unhappy. Beautiful salon! It was my first time! However I drove 1 hour and 10 mins and the lady doing my hair, was not able to do the style I desired (two Dutch braids with extensions) in a timely manner. My appointment was at 11, by 12:27 I was over it. It was obvious she wasn't very experienced, and couldn't do it. Also the way I was talked/talked about, I will not return. This place is awful. I had an awful experience. First off the staff is rude and unprofessional. Inya the owner barley answered my questions before my appotiment and gave me little no information about wigs. I went in for a lace front wig which i was so excited about. As soon as i walked in there i felt uncomfortable. I was scheduled with brian and i didnt ask for him. So my app was at 4 and i was freaking out because i thought i was gonna be late and it turned out that didnt even matter because brian didnt see me until 5 ! Talk about being mad. As soon as he started i knew everything was going to go down hill from there. Basically it seemed like he had no idea what the hell he was doing. Brian would not stop farting and it was making me incredibly sick ! He would stick his butt in the hallway to fart or just farted right next to me...needless to say i should have left at the first fart. Brian kept having to ask inya questions and kept making comments about my wig and seemed mad i didnt buy my wig from inya. Well i was told by inya that the only wig she had was a bob and i wanted something longer. But Brian told me i could have ordered one thru inya which of course inya didnt tell me this. So a lace front is only suppose to take 2 to 3 hours...i was there for 7 HOURS . I was tired and wasted so much time. He didnt even finish the job so i wasnt even about to pay for this crap. After 7 hours of him doing god knows what the wig looked awful !!!! It looked like someone had spray painted the hairline on my forhead. It looked like i was playing dress up ans just thru on a wig for fun. I kept telling him it looked wired and he just kept saying ill fix it or im not done. Well when are you gonna fix it ? When will you be done ? He didnt make sense the whole time, talked too much, was singing so damn loud in my ear, and kept running into my foot without saying sorry. Inya left at 7 pm and he called her at 10 pm explaining he was having a bunch of issues . She told him to finish it that night. I was not about to sit there for three more hours when i was in pain, tired, and hungry. Brian didnt feel comfortable finishing it because well like i said before he had no idea what the hell he was doing. So he told me to come back the next day so inya could help him. I didnt get home until 11 pm ! Also brian kept making rude comments like saying the reason it was taking so long becauae i was asking too many questions. I barley talked ! He also was complaing that my hair is too silky. And the rudest comment of all was when he told me if my kid doenst listen to me then theres something wrong with me and my parenting. When i left i was so relieved and never wanted to return. I cried all the way home and all night because it looked so awful and i had watsed $300 on this wig !!! Which by the way brian ruined. Whos gonna pay me for ruining my wig ? Ugh this place is horrible. I would never refer anyone to this place EVER. People at inya hair salon need to learn some class and learn how to do hair !!!! read more

Inya can use a good customer service training class or hopefully find a way to learn how to treat customers properly (basic etiquette).

Inya is no doubt one of the best stylists I have ever been too. She does a wonderful job and is very professional. She's been doing my hair since I moved to Phoenix and she's the only stylist I will go to in the area. read more
