I'm really disappointed with my experience. I booked this appointment specifically for my engagement photos and wanted a curled high ponytail. I showed a reference photo and confirmed ahead of time that I was booking the correct service. The ponytail was frizzy and not styled how I asked. The stylist mainly sprayed a lot of hairspray, brushed it back, and said I was done. When I asked for curls in the pony, I was told it was extra, which was frustrating since I had called beforehand to confirm the service. A few curls were added, but only part of the pony was curled and it wasn't set or sprayed. Overall, it did not look polished or photo-ready, and I left feeling really disappointed, especially since this was for such an important moment. I wish expectations and services had been communicated more clearly. read more

My absolute favorite Primp and Blow location, I wish I could give 10 stars! I love that I can quickly book online, and while I can't select a specific stylist for this location, every single stylist will pamper you and leave you with perfect hair. I feel like I rotate through the stylists but they know me, and I always leave happy and ready to tackle the week with a fresh blowout. I originally started my membership at another location but Biltmore/Town and Country has the best openings to meet my schedule (and I am there almost every Sunday afternoon). For YEARS I dreaded the blowout after a haircut and could never imagine having a membership at a blow dry salon. I've realized that a true blowout is far different than what I thought, and makes a huge difference when done right. You can tell the entire team genuinely enjoys one another, their clients, and their work, and I think that's part of why I love this location so much. If you go for a blowout, add the deep conditioning mask on, your hair will thank you and I find it makes my blowout last that much longer. Each of the stylists is an artist in their own right and want you to leave happy, so make sure you speak up if you need more hairspray, volume, etc.! read more

Left this salon so upset and sad:( I went to get my hair done for my birthday. I arrived and nobody had checked me in or taken me back till 10-15 minutes later. The girl that took me was definitely in a rush and first told me she doesn't have time for the original photo I showed her. She kept saying I was only booked for 30 minutes and doesn't have time do what is needed. I booked a dry style no where on there did it say anything about time. She also should have taken me at my appointment time if she was so in a rush. I was nice enough and left her a tip even tho I felt the service and treatment I got wasn't tip worthy. Once I left I got in my car and noticed they messed up my hair pretty bad. One side was curled inwards towards my face and the other was curled away from my face. I don't know if it was from her rushing or what but it looked pretty bad. I called to see if they would fix because there is no way I was going to get a service on my bday and tip her just for my hair to be messed up. But they told me they couldn't fix it till 3 hours later???? So I said forget i can fix it myself. My hair has never looked this bad, all my friends were shocked too because my hair has never looked like this. This experience really ruined my birthday. Two friends and I recently used Primp and Blow to prepare for our club's annual gala. Historically it's been a last-minute DIY hair and makeup session for us right before showtime as we've been on-set all day. This year, we weren't able to start loading in until just a few hours before which afforded us some time to take care of ourselves. I took it upon myself to find us a place that could do both hair and makeup that might not be a spa. Thanks to Yelp, we found this Primp and Blow location. One of my friends made the appointment. We walked in a few minutes ahead of time with dirty hair and clean faces. I let the two of them go first since the third stylist wasn't quite done. There are a bunch of options you can choose from for your hair in their look book, but the makeup is an open book. I gladly shared my dress which helped give her direction/inspiration for my makeup to be done differently than what I usually do (bold eyes & bronze face shaping), at her suggestion. She took her time and it showed! My friends on the other hand though, left with less-than-satisfactory service. Disappointing to me since they are working moms who don't get to go out/do much compared to myself. Their stylists rushed thru the makeup portion because they both wanted to go to lunch. One of the gals finished up her work at the cashier stand- she literally moved my friend from the makeup chair at the front to the cash wrap. One of my friends bought a touch up kit because she told me after we left she didn't think the stylist did a good job because she was rushing. They both looked beautiful though. I hope management sees this review and takes action so other customers aren't rushed through their experience. read more

Several months ago, they color matched me incorrectly to hair extensions, then opened the box and told me they looked terrible and didn't match and that I couldn't be refunded because they were opened. They even suggested I spend another several hundred dollars to try again and order another color! Disappointing and lost hundreds of dollars on what was supposed to be extensions for my wedding day. Worst service ever don't come here if you actually want to get your hair done. I've been here a total of five times. The first two times the girl that did my hair was decent however I had to sit and listen to her talk about how much she hated her mother-in-law the entire time both times. It was completely unprofessional. The third time I came here the girl actually knew how to do my hair she was clearly having a terrible day because she had just got in a fight with her mother who kicked her out of her house and blah blah blah blah blah more personal drama. The last two times I came the same girl did my hair. Thank God I didn't have to listen to mother-in-law Saga but this time it was a girl who has no clue what she's doing. It took almost 2 hours to for a wash and a flat iron that makes my hair look like it's stuck to my head. Worst thing is the girl next to me that was working could tell I was very unhappy. She appeared to be the manager or something and didn't do anything but of cpurse makensure to ring me up. Shw didn't ask how my service was. She clearly knew and didn't want the answer. These people are a bunch of amateurs nobody here knows what they're doing and if they do know whether doing do you have to sit and listen to their personal drama. I should have known better because every time I go in here and people are essentially wearing their pajamas and none of them have their hair done themselves. I was really looking forward to my visit here as is never been to a blow dry bar. I made an online appointment for later afternoon- super easy. I arrived 15 mins prior to my appointment, doors were open so it was nice and airy, staff had on masks and were friendly. The blowout itself was an absolute disaster however. I showed the stylist a picture of 'me' after my last cut/style, so I was specifically showing her that my hair is cut to be styled exactly like the photo. Anyway, I was totally a mess, another stylist tried to 'fix' it; and apologized profusely with the rationale that 'she's new'. I paid full price, left the store completely embarrassed to be seen in public, and went home to start over. I would suggest you research reviews and be specific about asking for a stylist that you've researched. And yes, before I posted a negative review, I did provide feedback via their survey tool, so this is no surprise to the business. I came to get my hair done with a bridal party. The girl that did my hair asked what I wanted. I explained exactly what I wanted my hair to look like and gave her several picture examples. She started doing my hair and I felt like she knew what I was wanting. She didn't really ask questions or communicate at all during the service. In fact she was very unfriendly and anti social. As she was getting closer to finishing my hair I could see if was nothing like the photos I sent. I stopped her and explained that it wasn't what I wanted. She seemed confused and also didn't know how to do my hair to make it look more like the photos. I am not a hairdresser but had to explain to her how she needed to change it. She was very annoyed. Sad she was adjusting the pieces of my hair that I asked she did it in a very upsetting way and was being very rough with my hair. My hair as crunchy and stiff. I asked for whimsical and romantic. I've come here a good number of times to get my hair and makeup done and whoever ends up taking care of me always does a good job. I've had my hair and makeup done for weddings a couple of times here and the most lofty request I gave them was a beehive hairstyle for a Halloween I dressed up as Amy Winehouse. My stylist nailed it! I wish I could remember the names of the stylists and makeup artist I've had here but it has been a while since I moved out of state, and I've had at least 3 different people here. With that said, I've had consistently positive experiences so I trust them in the quality of hires they make here across the board. read more

I love this location, I've been coming for a few years now to get my makeup done and Faith is amazing at doing makeup.

I booked an appointment for a blowout, and when my stylist wasn't ready after 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 20 minutes and then after 25-30 minutes I had to leave. I realized that the stylist I was waiting for wasn't even halfway done with the client before me. I was so disappointed because I had an event that night and took my lunch break to come for my appointment. I had asked the front desk if there was anyone that could help me- they said they were booked and they could get me in the next day possibly. Unfortunately that doesn't help you when you have an event that is the same evening as the appointment you booked ahead of time. Going the following day wouldn't have helped me. No other solutions were offered and no one seemed to care that I waited for 30 minutes and had to keep checking in with the front desk to get service this poor. I'm not usually one to write reviews like this, but I did call to speak the manager to let them know of my experience and was told they were busy. I never got a call back... I will not be returning or recommend anyone else go here either. When you take your lunch break to go and do this and leave feeling like your business and time isn't valued... it's just beyond disappointing. read more

I am highly disappointed in the primp and blow location at Biltmore. I booked a styling appointment for August 15th for a clean dry hair style which is $35. The stylist curled my hair and was done in 8 minutes. When I checked out they charged me $56 dollars because I have extensions. ThenI had to tip on top of that. They didn't do anything different because of my extensions and should have only charged me the $35, which seems high for 8 minutes, and at the minimum when I sat for a pre booked $35 appointment, they should have said it would be significantly more. I would have left for that amount of money. I got my hair curled because I had an event that evening and the curls didn't even last until 9:00pm when the event ended. read more

What could be better than an afternoon of "treat yourself"? Today I decided to do just that. I've never done a "dry bar" so decided that it would be part of my day. Now let me say, LOVED, the attendant and the wash OMG. My true disappointment comes from the feeling that I have currently. Since this was my first visit I was expecting to leave with curled hair. She did the soft brush curls. Very pretty but with my long heavy hair, two hours later I've paid $50 for straight blow dried hair with lots of products. Since I'd read about how this lasts for a couple days etc, it's really not what I expected. Now I can see if I had an event or special occasion I'd go back. Funny thing is I was thinking going in I might join as a nice thing for me. Not now. For $50 I can blow dry my hair. I'm very sad this was my experience. Oh well. If you want to feel pretty for a couple hours do it. I do have long thick hair so... but I thought it'd last the night and it didn't even last through dinner. I wish there had been styles to choose from and more information given to a brand new potential client. Oh well live and learn. read more

This was my 1st time at this location. I was very impressed on how they run the business. Very professional and on time with my family and I. My sister in law was recommended to this place and we took a chance and we are so glad we did. The ladies asked all the right questions and they absolutely delivered with what we needed. This location completely screwed me on Christmas Eve. I had an appointment to get two braids which was quoted at $35. I have gotten this service multiple times before and it's always been a shampoo and two braids (no blow dry involved. ) when I got this 1 year ago they charged me $25 and when I got this 6 months ago it was $35 both services included a shampoo and two Dutch braids. When I showed up to my appointment on Christmas Eve they first told me they wouldn't have time to shampoo me which I had planned for so not only was my hair dirty doing it dry completely changes the look. They then told me they could shampoo me but the appointment would be $55. So at first they couldn't do it but now if I pay more than double they could accommodate? Dry bar down the road was able to accommodate and only charged $30 read more

Walked in on a self care day and Heidi was at the front counter. We spoke back and forth about options and agreed on a plain blow out. I wear my hair natural most of the time and rarely put heat on it (but haven't had a hair cutt in years- my choice and it's not a popular opinion). Anyway she made me feel at home, it was so nice talking to her while being taken care of like a princess. We shared opinions and had great conversations about pop culture conspiracy theories. It was so nice getting my hair done by her.
