HIGHLY RECOMMENDED over all others! I had serious problems with my older (A1278) MacBookPro, including an infestation of roaches (!) which had damaged the Logic Board and Motherboard. Unwilling to discard the computer because of extensive software it contained, I took it to 3 different Mac repair specialists. First, Simple Mac (where I had received satisfactory service on the same computer before). They did their usual no-charge diagnosis, but pronounced the computer "not worth saving". I then took it (twice) to Dr. Brennan (also in St. Marks Pl.) which chaged $29 each time for diagnosis, quoted me almost $700, and returned it in a plastic bag "to prevent infection here". I then went to the very professional Mac Computer Help on 34th St, which said they had a special bath process which would clean the damage. I gave then $150 for that service, but when they returned it 10 days later, the computer would no longer start up or boot at all. I was disappointed, but the technician and manager could do no better than shrug, apologize, and refund $75 of my $150. Despairing, I went finally to Mac Computer Repair at 550 8th Avenue. It wasn't promising -- upstairs at the rear of a New York City souvenir shop! But once inside (and having nothing to lose) -- THAT'S WHERE THE MAGIC HAPPENED! The proprietor, Eduardo, took my now-dark machine back to his work desk. He returned only minutes later, inquiring who had worked on the computer earlier. I told him all the details, and he jovial pointed out where the previous technicians had failed to clean the Logic Board (as if paid them to do) and had not reinstalled varios interior screws and sattachments. As for my 500Gb hard drive which all three previous repair shops had said was "about to die", he said it was fine and showed no signs of age or imminent failure. Of course I had ask the data backed up, and had even bought a replacement 1278 (with the necessary identical, older 32-bit OS needed to run my extensive software). That migration would cost another $100 says Eduardo -- and might or might not be completely successful, as things like Photoshop are registered with a serial number. NO PROBLEM! He then simply moved my existing hard-drive from the damaged computer to the replacement one -- and, charging me only the cost ($50) of a new Super Drive which also needed replacing, and $0 for his labor and expertise -- I exited with a perfectly functioning computer AND all my software (probably worth $1500 or more) -- all intact, all working! read more

I SHATTERED my iPhone 6 screen while visiting a friend in Philly, looked for a spot near Port Authority on my way home to Hoboken from Penn Station, and was SO lucky to have seen the (accurately) high Yelp reviews for this little gem. I was on my way with a new screen in 20 mins. Then...it went crazy. My touch screen was NOT operating correctly and I was furious. I stopped by a few days later after work (the earliest I could get there during their opening hours) and he remembered me and immediately started apologizing. He said he knew my screen had come from the same batch as the one he was currently repairing and that he had gotten a faulty batch. He wrapped up with that girl's screen and got right to work on mine and again, about 20 mins later I was on my way. 1 Star for great customer service and that's it. I noticed the screen had a subtle blue tint after the repair but honestly I didn't care since I knew I had less than 2 months before the 6s was coming out. Then a week later the screen sensitivity was terrible I could only use headphones to talk otherwise I'd either hang up or press a million keys while I was on a call (tried fixing the sensitivity in the settings it didn't work) There is a 30 day warranty but I figured if he jacked it up the 1st time NOT going back. I did drop my phone again at home ago three weeks ago, it cracked to the point the screen was black and the phone was unusable. It wasn't even on a hard surface, I've dropped my phone before over last 7 years of having a iphone its never cracked until this summer and never ruined a screen before. The replacements screen they use are obviously not Apple specs or durable.You can DIY for same effect or just pay Apple to fix the phone properly. read more

AMAZING!!!!! Like other reviewers said before-go into souvenir shop and up the stairs. My phone was so messed up and in less than 30 minutes, it was as good as new! So fast, accommodating and NICE! The price was very reasonable and I even got a discount for checking in on Yelp. Amazing. Am recommending to EVERYONE I know!! First, these guys are amazing! In going through my cell phone "Insurance", I discovered that having phone insurance is a joke! So a friend suggested that I look at alternatives. I found these guys and they were able to fix my phone within the day. And my screen was pretty heavily damaged! I definitely recommend taking advantage of the appointment scheduling, as it will give them time to get any additional parts that they may need. Also, I have a Samsung Galaxy so they should actually take the "iPhone" out of their name. Ricardo was my associate who fixed my phone and he was so professional and great! The only reason I did not give them 5 stars is that they don't take credit cards. Cash only. These days, carrying cash is much more of a hassle. The man who worked on my phone was very nice and helpful. My phone came cracked with a bleeding screen and left brand new. The problem is that it started wigging out that very same day. My co-worker told me to give it some days to recalabirate itself with the new pieces , however it hasn't stopped wigging out since. I feel compelled to offer an unbiased and "non-brushed" review. The reason why I say this is because, I was like many other people that was looking for a replacement for my screen. The price was in line with the rest of the competitors, but the reviews on here persuaded me to use this vendor. Yes, the time of completion was about 20 mins which was nice. However, I noticed there was something "off" with the screen; when I brought it up with the technician, he just responded that it was something to do with the contrast. At first I thought nothing of it, but then asked myself, how could that be? The settings have never changed in order to make the screen look different, and when I played with contrast, it only made it darker or lighter, not the actually tint. I soon accepted that it was a shoddy replacement piece. I then realized that the reviews on this site are "brushed". Meaning, the vendor states there is a 30 day "limited" warranty, which wouldn't have covered my issue. But more importantly, on their business cards (and the vendor will tell you) if you leave a review on Yelp, they will extend your repair for a year........ So basically, because they are offering incentives for their reviews, you are getting a biased review site listing. Another thing I didn't like was, they ask their customers to fill out a form with information that feels completely unnecessary. I just want to pay for the replacement and leave, I am not a long term customer nor entering a contract of some sort; there is no need to keep my information for any reasonable purpose, especially if the job takes 20 mins to do. Even in the extreme event, they need to keep it overnight (which is a red flag), just give me a ticket exchange for the return. Unfortunately, I had to create a new yelp account just to post this since they have my information and do not want to risk anything. read more

GREAT customer service. My iphone screen broke and had a couple chunks missing from it. I found this place via Yelp and I don't regret it at all. This shop closes at 7pm - I called at 6:50 and asked if I could still come and he said yes. The service was stellar and my Iphone 6 was fixed within 30 minutes. I had an issue with phone 2 weeks later - my screen turned yellow and had random colored lines going through it, as soon as I noticed this I came back and he replaced my screen with no issues nor charge.This is def be my go to spot for repairs! read more

Amazing service! I fried my computer by accidentally spilling some wine on it. Ricardo was amazing and fixed my computer in just a few hours. I needed a new part he didn't have in stock but he told me several places I could go to get one and gave me the necessary tools to replace it myself. But he also told me if I got the part and brought it to him he would replace it free of charge. I also had a few missing keys that he replaced and I had a few messed up keys I forgot to tell him about but he replaced them without even me mentioning it to him! Excellent service. I must give kudos to Ricardo, he helped me with my device although I came in a few minutes past closing time which most people would not even consider. He was extremely prompt in getting the screen on my iphone 5c repaired and even gave it a little juice to test it out since it was sitting in my purse for a few weeks before I was able to make it into the city to have it repaired. Currently it is responding perfectly after repair. The only reason I gave a 4 and not a 5 was because I did purchase a groupon to have the phone repaired and was advised because this was an iphone 5C and not a 5 that I cannot use my groupon although the price for repairing the screen on both is EXACTLY the same. So i will go through Groupon to get my monies back as I think this should have been stipulated in the groupon fine print for people to not waste their monies 2 times. They did a great job repairing my iphone screen which was terribly damaged due to landing face down on a stone floor. Was repaired quickly and looks/works perfectly. My only issue was that I had a groupon voucher and was told it was for only an Iphone 5 whereas I had a 5S. I feel that they could have allowed me to just pay an upcharge for the difference (how different can the two screens be?) rather than having to go through the hassle of getting a refund with groupon which was a lengthy process. This place is a Must know! I bought their deal on Groupon for an Ipad screen replacement, and based on the positive reviews felt this place would be professional ( previously dealt with a note 2 screen replacement that just went horrible, with another Groupon at another place) I'm so glad I chose to come here! ( sat on the fence for about a week or so) First off, you go up the stairs on the right inside the gift shop and boom you will meet a friendly and courteous Repair guy: Ricardo was who I met, and he was very awesome! He not only fixed my obliterated screen ( mom of 3 boys...) But fixed the volume button, which got bent in and destroyed for a very reasonable price! There's also a warranty for any defects of the parts ( save screen getting cracked again ) I have now claimed this IPad for myself and look forward to enjoying it for my daily tasks! As a head's up he does other non Apple phones, but you need to call ahead and allow for him to order the parts needed, as he only stocks Apple parts. I just found my note 2 phone, and will plan on giving him a call to replace its broke screen! I've been to this repair shop at east 4 times (don't judge me). First time I dropped my phone and couldn't enter my password and I brought it here and explained my problem to the repair guy. He said he could replace the screen and if the phone didn't work he wouldn't charge me. Well the phone worked and I was ecstatic! Before coming here the 'geniuses' at the Apple Store told me there was 'nothing they can do!' My suggestion, if something is wrong w/ your phone you come here first. Great customer service, no long waits like at the Apple Store (just for them to tell you there's nothing they can do for you!) and you get your phone back in it's original condition and working (unlike the time I went to the Apple Store and after only not fixing my phone they erased all my info on it as well!!)
