I wanted to get a custom piece made for my best friend who was my best man at my wedding. Santa Cruz doesn't have the glassblowing scene it used to in the early 2000s so I wasn't sure where to find a custom piece. Found Irie Motivations online and headed over to see what they could whip up. Cool chill shop, with the blowing visible from the floor which was fun as it always is. Gave them the general idea of what I was looking for incorporating the Giants as well as a baseball for the body and a baseball bat somewhere as well. After some ordering in of glass and some back and forth texts and conversations I had an awesome custom piece that was the best artistic interpreting of my idea I could have asked for. Baseball for the body with a carb on the side and a bat as the mouthpiece with a custom message on the back and made out of some beefy glass so it was functional as well as pretty. Not very pleased with the repair work I had done on a piece. First off, meeting the glass blower he was eating food and didn't take any notes down of what we were telling him. Got it back 5 days later and they had broken it and had to repair a different part of it, and put the adapter way too close to the piece, SOMETHING WE HAD SPECIFIED AND REQUESTED NOT HAPPEN! Overall I would not say I'm a happy customer and am so bummed because I've heard such great things about this place. read more
