It was a beautiful day to do some wine tasting. We enjoyed the variety at J Scott Cellars. Pinot Noir is my choice because I like the light to medium body and the red fruit flavors. I decided to try some wines I use to drink too. I tasted the Petite Syrah, two kinds of Pinot Noir, Tempranillo, and the Cabernet. I enjoyed tasting the wines to find the right ones for my pallet. I thank the gentleman for bringing me and my husband a variety as well as the information he provided us about each one. We purchased the Tempranillo, Bradshaw Pinot Noir (my favorite), and the Albariño. read more

Beautiful spot for wine tasting, over 30 varietals. I highly recommend the sampler flight, allowing you to try a variety of options. Interior is beautifully done and the vibe is very welcoming. The staff is attentive and helpful, sharing personalized recommendations. Wish we lived closer to visit more often. read more

This location is perfect as it is located within walking distance from other shopping and dining. We were the only ones in the place on a weekday afternoon. The person selecting the wines for my wife was EXTREMELY helpful and knowledgeable. After MANY different reds - Pinot Noir, Tempranillo, Cabernet and Gamay - we picked a few bottles and went off to get some dinner. Also got an Albariño because the sample (even though a white wine) was absolutely refreshing. read more

We like to stop by J. Scott Cellars when visiting Eugene. The wines are true to the varietal and pricing is reasonable. 2 for 1 wine flights on Tuesdays as well as 50% off wine by hte glass on Wednesdays are good deals. Good descriptions of the wines by the server. Next time I hope to try some of their food offerings, which sounded delicious. read more

Came here for the first time on a whim on a Friday night and enjoyed ourselves. It's a very chill/cozy vibe, nice lighting, tables and couches, etc. They make all their own wines, I got a glass of the Bone Dry Riesling and I enjoyed it and the flavors. My date and I split an order of the salmon cakes and it came with aioli and a small salad with a vinaigrette. The salmon cakes were good and so was the salad, but both were a little too salty tasting. We still enjoyed them. Our waitress was really nice. I would definitely come back here for a mellow glass of wine. read more

Came in with my family to celebrate for Mother's Day, a day earlier. Very welcoming and knowledgeable staff! Service at the beginning was very quick, towards the end a bit slower but it got packed from the time we sat down and ordered, so understandable and all is good. Wine was nice, flight prices aren't terrible, charcuterie board was just fine though. They are so nice here! The food is great and the wine selections are locally sourced. We met some "regulars" as we were perusing the menu outside who promised the food and wine were top-notch. We are so glad we gave this a try. It has a friendly, relaxed and welcoming vibe. We had the fresh-baked baguette, stuffed mushrooms, and some flatbread pizza. Our experience was capped off with the best cheesecake we've ever had. This is our first visit to Eugene--and Oregon. If we ever are able to return, this will be our first stop. read more

Stopped here for a glass of wine and a weekend brunch (12-3 on weekends). The place was completely empty, weird. I got a glass of excellent pinot gris and my friend a glass of rose (too sweet for me but she liked it). I opted for the tomato bisque with sourdough grilled cheese. The bisque was nice and thick and had a good deep tomato flavor. The grilled cheese could have use some more cheese on it, it was a tad dry. My friend is Vegan and she had avocado toast. Not very exciting but very well presented with a flower. We split the fruit crumble with coconut cream on the top, nice but a tad sweet and the peaches in it were still a bit solid. Overall, a nice experience. Waitress was helpful and courteous. Parking was a nightmare with the Saturday market close by and an event in the 5th street market across from the venue. read more

Spent the weekend in Oregon visiting the kiddo at the UofO! Looking for a great winery with a nice vibe. Got a recommendation to check this place out and it did not disappoint. The wines were DELICIOUS, the plates were perfect pairings. But above all else the service was fantastic. Our server exceeded our expectations. She was courteous, funny, knowledge and overall amazing. Highly recommend checking this place out. The set up inside is a beautiful blend of modern and rustic. Ooooohhhhhh I am a fan. Stopped by here on a gorgeous warm afternoon for some remote work and I am very happy to add this spot into my regular rotation. Ordered a flight of three different wines and then ordered another glass of their Chardonnay. I could have stayed here all day. I FREAKING LOVE THIS PLACE!!! Firstly - it's like a secret club house. Secondly- super nice, chill,staff who want you to enjoy yourself. They can tell you all about the terroir, but don't need to. Third- flights of 6 wines ads $5. Fourth- (& 1st) some of the wine is really really good. Some is just ok. Who cares. Something for everyone. Fifth- pizza next door & a bunch of other snack options. We hosted a baby shower at J Scott Cellars, and it was perfect! Working with the owners was so easy, they are so accommodating and kind. The space is wonderful as is, and we were able to bring in flowers, pictures and balloons to make it our own. All of the guests told us how great the space was, and raved about the food! We got to customize the menu based on our needs, we had delicious baked goods (the cherry chocolate scone and the pear and rosemary Bundt cake were crowd favorites), but the quiches and the flaky buttery crusts stole the show. We are so grateful to Bonnie and Jonathan for working with us to make this special event better than we could have imagined. read more

We visited downtown Eugene on a roadtrip and couldn't help but buy a bunch of wine here. We've been familiar with Portland wine for awhile but didn't realize the wine scene in Eugene was far better. Outstanding visit! My husband and I are touring Oregon and this was our first stop for wine tasting. It's not so much a tasting room as a bistro. It's open and airy and spacious! We popped in on a rainy Sunday afternoon after watching football. Ken, our server/sommelier provided us with several tastings so that we could decide which direction we wanted to go with regards to the wine. Let me preface this by stating that we are members of 6 California wine clubs. We ordered the cheesy hot crab dip.. it was warm and gooey and delicious. After sampling the reds that Ken graciously poured for us, we ordered the white flight. For you oyster eaters, the Pinot Blanc is just what the doctor ordered. I fell in love with the 2021 Oregon Chardonnay. It's perfection in a glass. Think of a Werthers butterscotch in a glass. The wine literally melts over your palate. Unlike many Chards this one isn't heavy. Perfection. Really.. perfection. read more

Love the atmosphere, love the staff and LOVE the wine. I tried this place initially just for some wine tastings and bottles to go but fell in love with the team and the great variety of wine. I also love a business where the owner is working "in the trenches" with his team and it doesn't hurt he regularly rocks a Hawaiian shirt. It's a beautiful environment with delicious food and wine without the air of arrogance some wine spots can have. The location is a huge bonus too! I love JScott Cellars on 5th street for the cozy ambience and welcoming staff. The wine is always stellar and pairs well with the food options. They are excellent at pairing suggestions- I have personally enjoyed the prosciutto wrapped asparagus with the Grenache Rosè, the charcuterie with anything, the mushrooms with the Syrah, and any dessert with the Mistelle port style wine. Jonathan's Chardonnay is different every year- always fun to see what the new release will be. I highly recommend this gem in Eugene. You won't be sorry. read more

I didn't see a place to review the tasting room on 5th St so I'm here to say you must give it a look! It is well decorated with nice open spaces and a oversized roll up window during nice weather. The tasting room manager is delightful and very accommodating. Love the charcuterie boards! And they carry gluten free crackers. After all of this, we really enjoy their wines!!
