We stopped by here the other day for lunch, it was wonderful beautiful building, wonderful staff. We picked here partly because it was listed on gluten free near me. They don't have a ton of gluten free options but the crab cakes are and they have gluten free bread. Our waitress was very cool and friendly she even recommended a coffee shop around the corner, that was really cute. We will definitely be returning. read more

I was really impressed with this place! Staff was extremely nice and helpful and the food they brought out was fantastic! Irish cheese fries had Mozz Cheese and gravy and was hard to stop eating. I also had a turkey sandwich which was to die for. Smoked bacon and avocado made this really stand out! I cant wait to go back and try the burgers. read more

I am so disappointed in our dinner tonight. We have been here several times and the food has been good. I had the Reuben and it had chopped corn beef chunks and the cheese was not even melted. There was very little sauerkraut and the bread was not toasted. So sad!!! My husband had the ribeye sandwich. He was a little disappointed with his because it was too rare and there was so much gristle. The service was well let me just say bless her heart. She was trying but I don't think she could handle the few tables she had. We had to wait quite a while for our food and one of the kitchen workers was having to bring the food out. So, so disappointed that you guys got rid of the O'malley Club. It was by far my favorite sandwich. Every time I would come into town, I would instantly crave that sandwich and order it to go. My husband and I ventured into the IBP last Saturday after watching AU's awful loss hoping to drown my sorrows with a yummy club - only to find out you guys no longer serve the sandwich. Hot or miss on this place. Always has smell of Murphy's Oil Soap or old fraternity house. Burgers and sandwiches are a safe bet. I suggest steering clear of steaks and non fried fish. read more

Excellent food and bar. The beer listing is extensive, and my favorite was the "Apples and Oranges" (half orange juice and half cider). Music is always lively and the atmosphere is comfortable, if loud. Didn't try wines or dessert, but wish I had tried the Apple Crisp. It looked fantastic! read more

Great server. Lovely to sit outside and have a pleasant quiet time in downtown Opelika. I had the soup and sandwich combo...Chicken Tequila soup and 1/2 Reuben sandwich. All was good. Husband had the Shepherd's Pie and salad. So far all went well. Very attentive server and food was hot and tasty. Then we got the check...$6.49 for a bottle of beer ! Really ??? What the heck ? Titan IPA. So 2 beers and our little dinner...$37 ! after tip !!!!!!!!! Never again. There are no prices on the beer listing. I never ask as really even in San Diego or Manhattan or Atlanta or anywhere we have eaten in the past 2 years I have NEVER paid that much for a plain old IPA out of Denver . I'm a vibe kinda guy and this place gets 5* for vibe alone. I like to try out new places while I'm out and about by myself. It rates high on the eating solo scale also so I'll def bring the family sometime. If it's this cool at lunch I bet it's really cool at night. My waitress is super cool and really informative. The food was very good, and very fair for the price. I had the shepherd's pie, and it was delicious. The service, however, is questionable at best. Our server was nowhere to be seen for the first 10-15 minutes of us being seated. He progressed in quality of service throughout the course of the meal, I will give him that. The beer selection was great on the menu, but two of the 4 beers my group tried to order were no longer available. I would give this experience a below average to average rating. we attended Irish Bred Pub on Sunday, May 6th after a college graduation. The restaurant was not prepared for the crowd that showed up after graduation. I was told by phone that they accepted reservations. When I arrived I was told they do not accept reservations, there was no record of my phone call and reservation, and I would be placed on the wait list. The wait was approximately 2 hours. Needless to say, I was NOT pleased as I had 7 family members who could NOT wait 2 hours. It was 7pm at this point. The hostess finally found her customer service skills and made a table for us. That was nice. However, it took us 1 hour to get our food and our waitress checked on our table only 4 times during the one hour wait for our food. To add insult to injury, the tomato on my chicken sandwich was basically rotten....it smelled and tasted horrible. I will not make a repeat visit to this restaurant read more

Worst business practices I've ever experienced. Booked our Holiday party to use their upstairs venue. Met in person to organize catering. Signed a contract. Arrived the night of the party and they had given the space to someone else. Told us too bad, we know it sucks, you'll have to share the space. We were relegated to the patio. All appetizers we had requested be brought in waves were brought all at once and all but flung into the 10 patio tables for a party of over 70 people. Appetizers congealed. Manager was more irritated that we were mad. Would not give us a refund. Applied it to a bar tab. They would have made so much money on our group. They did NOT care that they put us in a bind with our faculty. Will never darken their door again. Would give zero stars if an option. Had to walk through the other party to get drinks or service, or use the restroom. We made the best of it and enjoyed each other's company, but this restaurant can't get away with treating people like this. read more

I can not review the food as we did not stay to eat. We just TRIED to go to this place for lunch. I wanted the Sheppard's pie, The Sheppard's pie came with salad, I asked for soup instead. I was told "you can't substitute with the Shepard's pie", The menu states you can substitute any of the below entrees for $1.99. But because the description on Shepard's pie said it came with salad I was not allowed to. (Not all entree's stated that they came with a salad). I asked for the manager, The Owner comes out and continues to try and convince me that it comes with salad because that is the way it is written on the menu. He also says I can have anything I want, but the Shepard's pie comes with a salad. If I can have anything I want Then why do I have to get the owner out here and argue about wanting soup instead of a salad? Just sell me soup! Unless that salad not coming with that Shepard's pie is going to ignite the zombie apocalypse and I will never ever get to eat a salad again, You can keep it and save it for someone who wants a salad! You can also bring the salad to me, and then throw it away when I don't eat it (because I had the soup)and just charge me for my darn soup! But no, it has to be a discussion and hassle just to get a bowl of soup and save your salad for someone else that wants it. We left and went to Niffers at the tracks they even gave me gravy for my fries, just because I asked for it!! Can you imagine, just asking for something at a restaurant, getting what you asked for and being charged accordingly?!?! It is a very cool building with great ambiance, but not enough lighting where we sat to see the menu well if you have any vision issues. read more

My wife and I were in Auburn for graduation and went to the Irish Bred Pub only to find a packed restaurant and a long line of big parties waiting for a table. The hostess cheerfully took our request for three and suggested we head down the street to another surprisingly good restaurant to more comfortably wait for a table. The wait was quicker than expected , only 40 minutes. Once seated we completely enjoyed the experience. The waiter was cheerful, attentive and knowledgeable despite handling many other parties at once. The food was uniformly very good from the shrimp and grits, to the corned beef Reuben, to the filet. My only gripe was that they did not serve a proper Guinness draft, it was too cold and came in only a 14 oz glass. read more

Went on a Thursday night...the place was busy, but not packed. We were seated promptly, but passed a booth and were being taken upstairs (about 30 steps!). Upon requesting to sit in the booth, we were seated there without any hassle. We ordered the spinach and artichoke dip, which was homemade and very good...the chips were just average. Since it is an Irish pub, we ordered fish and chips, which is a large piece of fish, fries, and slaw. The fish was wonderful, not greasy, the slaw was good, but the fries a bit salty. I have always eaten here for lunch so I am not familiar with the night dining. But, I always order the salmon sandwich that has corn romualade on it and it is very good. I had the fried fish sandwich here once (St. Patty's Day special) and it was so gross that I could not even eat it. That was the only bad food experience that I've had here. My boyfriend has tried several items on the menu and has been pleased. Most of the time the service is friendly and the food is pretty good. read more

The team at the Irish Bred Pub helped us to host our daughter's wedding reception in the upstairs on Saturday, December 1, 2012 and they did an AMAZING job! They were accommodating and made sure that we had the exact menu we wanted. They allowed us to come in and decorate the morning of the evening reception and continually checked to make sure that everything was up to our standards during the event. AND the food was OUTSTANDING! I would recommend hosting a special event or enjoying an evening out for a GREAT evening. I really liked this place when it first opened. The only problem I have is when the head chef isn't in house the other cooks slack off and the consistency isn't always up to parr. They do have the best fish n chips in a 50 mile radius. I would definitely recommend this pub. read more
