But a friend of mine was singing at a memorial tribute and needed a ride, so hecks yeah! I want to see the new place! Great atmosphere! Interesting dive bar. It's a little larger than my usual dive bar. Drinks were ok and the bartenders were not bad. The regular woman bartender was in the middle of some existential drama. Regardless, I liked it enuf that I went twice w/ and w/o W. I guess it was an easy walking distance from our hotel. The place has live music every night, but the bands weren't good. read more

A group of four of us went in there two of the patrons that were with us are 22 years old, but they do look young but the young blonde bartender was rude and lost. Our business will lose all business from anyone we talk to we will never repeat this pub ever again she should be fired for how she treats customers in the amount of money she just caused the bar to lose. read more

Good place for cheap drinks or fresh Guinness on tap. Full of local retirees from surrounding buildings or tourists in Waikiki so a mixed crowed, but tends to be older and more male. Not quite a full on dive bar, but depending on the crowd that night can feel like one. They have live rock music on most nights with a dance floor. Music usually 9pm till closing. There are also electronic dartboards on one wall. read more

The Irish Rose Saloon is a no-frills Irish pub away from Waikiki's main drag. Located on the second floor it has a dance floor, a stage, and dart boards. They have live music every day at 9pm with no cover and currently open at 6am on Sundays. They have $5 mai tais everyday and daily happy hour until 7pm with $4.25 wells. Cash is preferred as there is a 3.75% fee for credit cards. It was pretty much empty when I came here and the bartender Dean was great! He gave me a list of recommendations in the Waikiki area and we passed a slow morning by playing some trivia with other patrons. It was a fun place with a local crowd and a casual vibe. read more

I had this place bookmarked prior to visiting Hawaii. I always try to explore new areas that involve good reviews, relaxed atmospheres, not super expensive, and not far off the beaten path. Irish Rose Saloon is one of those places. We walked there later in the evening so it was kind of difficult to find. I was on Google Maps while walking, in case we were not paying attention. We finally arrived and it was like a little obstacle getting there because I seem to remember walking upstairs to get there. I am not sure if the downstairs was connected or a different business. Where we were though, had a massive space and a stage for musicians. We decided we wanted to sit at the bar and luckily found 2 seats right as people were leaving. It took some time for the bartender to greet us and we ordered some draft beers. I really do enjoy environments like this. There was live music on the stage. People were dancing, singing, and you know-doing people things lol. We enjoy people watching and actually had some laughs because there was a guy in there who looked like Garth in Wayne's World. We did not spend too much time here but the vibe was great. The prices were reasonable as well. read more

Located on the second floor, so expect to walk up stairs and show your ID to the bouncer. It is very popular among locals who live around there. Can get pretty crowded on the weekends. There's a smoking area outside. They do have cheap drinks such as $5 Mai Tais. There is a credit card fee, so I recommend cash. They do have live music, you can check their calendar for specific bands. Dartboard available too. You just have to ask bartender for darts. Mind u if u go for St. Patties day - make sure you grab a table early or a spot at the bar cuz they clear out majority of the tables for the mass crowd following the parade. Sadly no Corned Beef n Cabbage this year here - . But Their Fish n Chips were good as well. Ohhhh and here's a niiice snacking treat - get the fried pickles! You get a VERY generous portion of them! And depending how hot the oil is they are quite tasty with a proper beer!!! Also highly recommend their special pizzas - the crust has just the right amount of crunch without being over tough. Generous portion of a wedge if u order by the slice! Also - daily music! Time music starts depends, but lots of local individual musicians. Sometimes a small band. Usually good music - covers of Classic Rock to local music as well. Happy hour usually starts at 2pm, not sure exactly on the pricing. The first tkme I visited here was a few years ago. Inhad a chance to listen to live music. The bartenders were great. I have never eaten here but they do serve some food items. Great place for live music, but PAY WITH CASH as you go! Do not, under any circumstances, give them your credit/debit card to keep your tab "open." I did, and told them I was paying with cash and they still ended up charging my card l, so I paid the same tab, TWICE! Even if you ONLY plan on using your card, they charge an extra fee/separate transaction (anywhere from $25 to $38) until the original amount clears. NONSENSE! read more

I have eaten there twice, while visiting. Both times it was excellent...the food was the freshest I have ever had in a Public House. Everything was prepared and cooked perfectly. Next visit, I will probably visit again. Service was very good...and this was during COVID.... The restaurant's decor is true to the Irish/English them...very up scale, but inviting.
