It has been a while since I've been here! Met the owner, Bill, at a Friday night live music show. I didn't know he was thee Bill Comerford, because I always wanted to do his whiskey tasting at O'Tooles. What an amazing and interesting experience! Bill explains the history and origin of whiskey, and how each one we tasted was made and where it was from. We sampled six different whiskys, each one so unique. Apparently Bill has a whiskey club which is pretty cool. The tasting is $35, but as a member it's only $25. There was also food to snack on while tasting, and it was a fun group of people. Definitely worth checking out! Mahalo Bill and Anna!

I love Anna's! Walking distance from where I live, attend the bar multiple times a week. Shadow the manager is the best (make sure to always say hi to him if you see him)! Chad, Craig, and Sam are the best bartenders on the island of Oahu, so charismatic and personable! They make my night whenever I go out! The drinks are amazing and affordable. Small local bar but the music upstairs rocks and the games downstairs can be even better! Highly recommend coming here !

No one mentioned the $15 minimum charge for cards

Terrible, don't use credit cards, especially at clubs or bars, they really take advantage of people and overcharge them when using credit cards, luckily I checked my bank satatement and it said they charged me $25 dollars for one drink like wtf??? I assume it's the cost of the drink plus the $15 but whatever it is, it was a clear scam.

Terrible experience at this bar. Very disappointing service and the server/manager are homophobic.

Best drinks in town. As long as Kate is the bartender this is a great place to visit in Waikiki.

My friends and I came here last night for a birthday celebration, for some snacks, drinks, and darts. We were having a good time, until we were told that we needed to end our dart game early because the machines closed at 8pm. I was surprised and never came across an Irish pub turning off their dart machines before a kids bedtime. It's not like the bar was closing or doing last calls. It wasn't really a busy night but wasn't dead either. Guess there's a first for everything. Most importantly, WE WERE NEVER TOLD about this and we were there playing for maybe a couple hours?? (ALSO... It would've been nice to know before we put money in the machine.) I explained to the server that we weren't told about the dart machines & if there's a way for us to get our money back. Her response was: If it'll make you FEEL better. Wth... no girl, it's not about my feelings, good grief, let's not get Oprah about this, mmmkay? It's about what's RIGHT. We eventually got our money back but not before I caught the eyeroll, which was the cherry to this one and only time experience here. What stink attitude. If we knew the rules, no problem but to make us feel weird about it when we're out here celebrating? Debbie downer much?

JJ was also the mastermind behind Dolan's famous pizza...the hook they devised to distinguish their Irish pub from that of their former boss and fellow Irishman, Don Murphy, owner of Murphy's across the street from Black Shamrock. When an opportunity to take over the former O'Toole's location opened up, JJ jumped at the chance, and split from Dolan's to hang his own shingle, now known as Black Shamrock. JJ bought his pizza expertise with him, and in my opinion, is now the best pie in town...plus his Duck drumsticks can't be missed, which aren't available at Dolan's. JJ, Danny Dolan, and Don Murphy are all still friends, so have no worries, Chinatown is still the place to go for St. Patrick's day because they're still joining together to sponsor the annual festivities...and of course Murphy's is still the place to go if you're looking for Corned Beef or Shepherd's Pie downed with Guinness...but if it's a New York slice you're looking for, there's no need to go up to Bethel anymore, just stumble across the street to Black Shamrock.

I made reservations for 5:45 PM however when I checked in at Pint and Jigger, I was notified that the reservations were for P&J and not the speakeasy which opens at 6 PM. Therefore I believe that there are still kinks to be made with their reservation system. We waited at the bar until it was sorted out. You walk through a whiskey wall and walk upstairs to the speakeasy. They used a lot of the decor from the former location known as Harry's Emporium. We were the only ones for about an hour so we were able to maximize the bartender's time. Max is an excellent bartender and informed us that they are only open on the weekends for now. He's the only bartender and they are still working out staffing issues. No food at the moment. The theme is New Orleans/French. The drinks and music all have that vibe. The room is dim but not too dark. We left around 7:30 PM when two other couples showed up. We will definitely be returning.
