I've heard of this place from many people and over many years yet I've never stopped in for a visit, until, today! Small bar, unassuming, warm and friendly, priced right, good food, and many more attributes The first thing you need to do is know how to find this place The second thing you need to do is chill! Sit back and enjoy the moment The third and maybe more important thing to know is they have no food you have to buy your appetizers from the food truck right outside the door Bottom line or top line! Stumbled upon this nice dive bar after grabbing dinner with my cousin and his gf! The interior makes you forget for a sec you are in Hawaii and not the SF Marina Bars haha. Lots of tables to cater for large groups and a bunch of dart machines available -- you do have to pay to play. There was no set menu and the bartender was nice to let us know that if we shoot her a name of a drink she can make it for us. I got a Midori Sour and it was perfect! Not super strong and more of a melon flavor. Price was decent at $15. I'd say make sure you know the names of a couple drinks beforehand. They did have a couple of specials with one being an "18 year old Filipino Girl"....Okay.... A bit of a weird crowd though with a couple creepy men, so come in a large group! There were a good amount of people in their 20-30s, but the ambiance wasn't giving after some instances. read more

Love a dive bar. Love a friendly one. This place is perfect. On the outskirts of Waikiki. I met a ton of people who live within walking distance. Watched a soccer match there. I didn't eat but the beers went down well. I went 2x during my visit and the next time I went I did a vodka exclusive evening. This is a local, out of the way little spot. If you didn't know, it was here, you would never find it. It is the epitome of casual and laid back. The staff is friendly, the patrons are for the most part locals. Surprisingly, they have a very wide selection of whiskey and a full bar. They also have an adequate selection of beer, however, not a broad range of options on tap. It is definitely a PBR friendly bar, as they offer all day happy hour on schooners of PBR. No food here, but occasionally you can find a food truck parked outside or you can order in from a couple of small local restaurants. read more

Had my over priced draft beer and sticker then left. Never have i paid $3 for a sticker - i collect when i travel. How can I not love a dive bar with a name like that? After all, Suzie Wong was a fictitious Hong Kong bar girl (aka hooker) played by Nancy Kwan in her hotsy-totsy heyday in 1960's "The World of Suzie Wong". Even though our hotel was less than ten minutes away by foot, Jamie W. and I got lost trying to find it because it's in a nondescript alley with a parking lot in front and no signage from the street. Starting with the friendly bearded bouncer, the place had a casual, ramshackle feel that made it feel somewhere between Rosie's Bar on 'M*A*S*H' and the Howells' hut on 'Gilligan's Island'. Thurston and Lovey preferred their martinis dry. With unbridled energy, Patrick was the awesome bartender both times we visited. Suzie Wong's is a cool little dive bar a couple minutes away from the Hawaii Convention Center. There's a small parking lot and it's tucked away in the plaza next to the laundromat. My first drink was the mai tai ($8) which was one of the couple drinks that they serve with a double shot of liquor. It was pineapple forward and I didn't taste any alcohol at all. My second drink was the mango margarita ($8) in which I had the option to do mango, strawberry, or normal. It actually didn't really taste like a normal margarita though but I guess that's okay. Wells were $5 which was not terrible. It's a hole-in-the-wall place with a chill vibe. You'll find more locals and other hospitality workers here instead of tourists so stop by here if you want to get away from the busy crowds and expensive cocktails. read more

I'd been meaning to stop by for a while, and finally had a few minutes and made it happen. Great vibe that feels very unlike the sterile Hiltons flanking it all around. Dean the bar tender saw me right away and made a Mai tai on the spot. It wasn't my favorite Mai tai, very orange juice heavy, but they don't skimp on the rum so you get value. I'd probably go with something very basic next time, or beer--there's some on draft and some nicer quality cans. Seems like there would generally be a group of locals. Cute and casual hangout on Ena Rd behind the Irish Rose. When facing the Irish Rose walk on the left side of the building past the Vietnamese restaurant and laundromat. Once you pass those it's on the right. It has limited parking, and don't parking anywhere else or you run the risk of getting towed. They serve beer and simple cocktails. For example, they can do martinis and Manhattans but no old fashioned. Prices are good, but there's often a staff shortage so know what you want. There's a food truck right outside, separate from the bar, where you can purchase something to eat. The bar doesn't serve food. read more

After coming to Suzie's quite a few times now i think this place is definitely 5 stars! If you are expecting a fancy place this is NOT the place for you...BUT if you want a place thats open air, friendly, laid back, great alcohol selection that's not overpriced, efficient staff, clean and fun I'd recommend Suzies! They have about 14 TVs to watch NFL/college games on and open early during football season to watch the dreaded 7am games. They don't serve food BUT Tys food truck is parked in front and serves excellent food they will bring you the food in the bar. Sunnys coffee shop is around the corner that serves excellent breakfast as well. They have 3 dart boards, ATM machine and lots of seating Great vibe and I appreciate that the patrons are tourist, local, young and older and everyone is friendly and respectful no matter which team you are cheering for! It's also dog friendly. About 8 parking stalls in front and street parking. The bar staff is amazing great place to check out at the beginning of Waikiki. read more
