This review is for the recently opened speakeasy,Hush, which is located upstairs. I made reservations through IG and if you go on their site you have to click on hush on Open Table. I made reservations for 5:45 PM however when I checked in at Pint and Jigger, I was notified that the reservations were for P&J and not the speakeasy which opens at 6 PM. Therefore I believe that there are still kinks to be made with their reservation system. We waited at the bar until it was sorted out. You walk through a whiskey wall and walk upstairs to the speakeasy. They used a lot of the decor from the former location known as Harry's Emporium. We were the only ones for about an hour so we were able to maximize the bartender's time. Max is an excellent bartender and informed us that they are only open on the weekends for now. He's the only bartender and they are still working out staffing issues. No food at the moment. The theme is New Orleans/French. The drinks and music all have that vibe. The room is dim but not too dark. We left around 7:30 PM when two other couples showed up. We will definitely be returning. read more

Drinks at this place are wonderful as usual. Mesquite smoked Manhattan my go to. They even have mead on tap! Thick cut bacon with the corn salsa is just as good. Disappointed they've taken the bacon with strawberries and mascarpone cheese off of the menu. That needs to come back! This was the best thing on the menu, in my opinion. Minus one star for the ridiculous parking situation. $24 to park at the Ala Moana Hotel parking garage for less than two hours, where this place is. They need to work out something better with the Hotel. Shameful, a kama aina auntie has to pay that much to eat and drink in my own backyard. If you go, park somewhere else or Uber. Also disappointed the speakeasy is only open on Saturday and Sunday. And maybe I'm too old, but the music in the bar is too loud. My wife and I checked out Pint + Jigger on our last day in Oahu before we had to head off to the airport. Located in the Ala Moana hotel lobby, the bar is not the easiest to find. We made it in time for their happy hour, which runs every day of the week from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. There's a "sous vide Old Fashioned" on the Happy Hour menu that I ended up ordering two of during my visit. I thought the Old Fashioneds were stiff, spirit forward, and not overly sweet -- just the way a well-made Old Fashioned should be. For only $10, it's hard to beat. I was tempted to order a cocktail off their "pick-me-up" menu, a small set of cocktails that are made with a 72-hour cold brew coffee, but decided against it since I would be taking a red eye later in the evening. We got seated at the bar and the staff we interacted with were nice and attentive during our entire visit. The only thing I didn't really particularly enjoy about Pint + Jigger was the atmosphere. One part of the restaurant looks like a classy upscale whiskey bar, with bottles that stretch from floor to ceiling and a sliding ladder to access the rare bottles located at the top. However, the other side of the restaurant looks like a Dave and Buster's, with a shuffleboard table and multiple large TVs broadcasting sport games. It feels like they're trying to cater to all audiences -- which is fine, because they're located in a hotel and that's how you capture more customers. However, if you're looking for a more relaxing vibe, you might want to look elsewhere, since it's entirely up to chance if you'll have a family with a screaming child halfway across the restaurant. read more

Less than satisfactory experience with P and J this evening. There was almost an hour between when we sat down and the last members of our group of 11 getting their meals. There seemed to be confusion early on when servers tried to give us someone else's meals and then a simple chicken sandwich too nearly an hour to get on the table. My salad with chicken was a salad with a chicken side. My "rum and coke tall" was a regular rum and coke. The server never tried to "up the sale by asking if I wanted a second one (note to owner, I wonder how much per year that is costing you in lost sales). To see two of our group have to sit that long while the establishment figured out how to complete their order was just unacceptable. My suggestion if you are considering P and J, perhaps try somewhere else. read more

Not to worry, they can also accommodate walk-ins at the bar or at one of their community tables. Cocktail bar located very close to Ala Moana and connected to the hotel of Ala Moana located inside in the corner. We met up here on a Friday night with all of our friends for some drinks. The kitchen was open and some of our friends ordered food like fries and chicken strips. A lot of people got espresso martinis, I got a tequila soda, other people got beers and cocktails, we sat in the long table area and it was pretty busy. There was a service charge for our large party. I left a little earlier than the group but they also got moved to the bar area. One of my friends left his card there and they were accommodating at letting us pick it up upon closing another night. Very nice entrance way so many different types of alcohol to choose from and large selection of draft beer including local brews. The the Old Fashions were delicious. Once was for my husband's birthday, and the second was for dinner after going to the Trial of Fears. The service was great, and fast both times. We all lloooved the chicken sandwich! And you can never go wrong with any of their old fashioned drinks. I tried a couple different ones, and they were great! Th WALL! The wall of liquor is amazing to just look at!! I come here maybe once a month just for the mushroom bruschetta. It is out of this world, seriously! Our waitress Sinclair was very attentive to us, always making sure we were okay and had enough water. They have a huge selection of different liquor here! THE BEST AFTER WORK SPOT. This place is absolutely amazing! A long and impressive lists of cocktails, beers, and spirits! Amazing food for pupu and entrees! Outstanding service and amazing ambience! When you walk in they Id you at the door so you already know this isn't your typical bar/restaurant. Its low lighting provides an elusive but welcoming atmosphere with bottles lining the walls and accent lighting everywhere. It's very trendy and very lively as it was packed the whole time we were there (6:30-8:30) and they stay open late(1am Fridays)!!!! There is also a speak easy that goes by a different name located in the restaurant that isn't open yet ( definitely coming back) We ordered a few beers and drinks and they were amazing!! This was a spontaneous night out with coworkers after work so I didn't take any pictures :( but I wanted to write this review because the service was amazing and deserves to be recognized. They can be costly but cool to see. The food is off the charts amazing! This has been the best bone marrow I have ever had!! It melted in Your mouth, I want more!!! We had Sunday Funday at the Mai Tai Bar, and our bartender Nick recommended we come to P + J. It is located in the Ala Moana Hotel by the mall. I had a batanga w/ Mexican coke, while my friends sampled the extensive whiskey selection ( over 100). One of my friends is a whiskey aficionado and has been on the Kentucky bourbon trail. He really liked all the distilleries represented at P + J. Julia was an awesome waitress. She was super friendly and informative on the wide selection of whiskeys available. Regarding the ambiance, its very cool in here. There is a whiskey wall that I would love to have at home. A secret passage leads to a speakeasy that is due to open later this year. The brussel sprouts were perfectly cooked where it wasn't mushy, but had some life to it lol. Overall, a bit pricey, but everything was quality. Presentation was awesome and the ambiance of the whole place just gave off a chill type of vibe. Lots of liquor choices on display. Staff is super friendly and fast. This bar/restaurant is located on the bottom floor of the Ala Moana Hotel. We walked and we were greeted right away by a sweet gal. She took us to our table, the place was dark with a few lights so it was hard to see. It was also loud with music. There were 3 other tables being occupied. Plus, a few guys at the bar. Good local music being played on the radio, but it was too loud for me. It was hard to have a conversation with someone sitting right across of me. We ordered fries to go since it was late abs they were our of chicken. So we asked if we could have a basket of guys and a Coca-Cola to go. Then as soon as we got our bag with the fries the lights went out the place was completely blacked out. But our waitress told us that the total of our bill was $13. I was excited to get a nightcap at Pint & Jigger this week, after it became a finalist in the James Beard Awards, for Outstanding Professional in Cocktail Service. I was surprised to find such a cool bar and restaurant in the lobby of the Ala Moana Hotel. It seems a bit out of place. After having an amazing meal at CINO, we didn't have room for more food at Pint & Jigger, but what I saw on Yelp was lots of praise for the food service, in addition to the drinks that are created and served. I went with the classic Old Fashion, and it was delightful. The shelves behind the bar are a like a library of booze. Whatever you want to drink, they have it. This is my favorite gastropub in the world. I go several times whenever back. They have an extensive drink menu and I've loved all the ones I've tried. I've brought loads of people here and they all love it, too. The bartenders are heavy-hitters and really, really good at what they do. If you love whiskey cocktails, this is the bar for you. The fried chicken was a bit tasteless, but everything else was great on the food end. The star of the show is their whiskey mushrooms. This supernice gastropub spot is great for reservations, group get togethers, birthdays, celebrations, blind dates, regular dates,-- & Im sure even secret dates too because it can have some dim romantic lighting & lighting dimness can vary depending where you sit! I went with a group but I see it can be a nice intimate spot to talk with a special trusted friend. I came here to meet up with a group of people and it was a very pleasant experience. The location is inside the Alamoana hotel and was very easy to find. The hostess is very sweet and very helpful and offered to help find the group we were looking for, however they were right there when we walked in so no help was needed. The vibe is a little bit darker and more intimate in setting, which is nice and a really great contrast from the bright lights of the hotel and all of the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. The booths have a little step up so if you have mobility issues, please be aware of that. We sat at the first booth, which was accommodating for a larger group of people which was also very nice because the booth was U-shaped so it enabled good conversation. we ended up ordering a few appetizers to share and they were also delicious. One of the members of the group ordered a bartenders choice beverage, which allows for you to let the bartender know your base and the flavor profile you're going for. The drink turned out so delicious. She ended up getting a few more. Aside from the server that we had, Mary, excellent. She was so efficient getting our orders and getting the drinks out very quickly. I'd ask to cash out early because I was leaving the group and she was so stealth and sending me the check. It was amazing. It was really great because I had to meet myride who was approaching very quickly and so she got me out of there fast! If you're looking for a casual place to get drinks and snacks, I highly recommend.
