Irish Rover has sat along side the langhorne train station for as long as I can remember. A Langhorne landmark and long standing watering hole. Large spread out dining areas along with a full bar and catering facilities on site the Rover can accommodate parties large and small. Usually a seat yourself situation here with the staff all working in tandem to get you settled and served. New on the menu a GIANT Bavarian pretzel, paired well with my crab soup which oddly came out with cheese melted on top. I've never had a crab soup with cheese and I'm still not sure how I felt about it. The Italian pork was juicy and seasoned perfectly with just the right amount of gravy/au jus to make the roll just wet enough but still maintain that perfect chew that a quality long roll provides. A decent stop for a Sunday lunch we left full and happy with leftovers for later. A sure thing when in Penndel. read more

I recently went to the Irish Rover Inn with a little bit of caution because it was so packed with customers and I was apprehensive about how really good the food is. Just a hunch. I sat at the bar and ordered a beer and their corn beef sandwich. What could go wrong with that? The tap beer I got was cold and easy drinking, the sandwich was horrible. The corn beef was so fatty that I couldn't bite through it. I tried biting on any corn beef while holding it but it held to the thick fat. This was half the sandwich. I got the bartender's attention and told her how bad the meal was, she said I should have told her! I did but anyway I will never go back there because quality means a lot when you're dining out these days and prices! read more

Had a surprise bday party brunch for my husband on July 13. They did a terrific job. This is one of the best Irish bars I have ever seen. It is kid friendly and smoke-free, and I love the fact that it is located right next to an active railroad track where you can sit and watch trains go by all day on the patio. I had the Reuben Quesadilla and it exceeded my expectations. This bar has a TouchTunes jukebox which is always an instant win. They have a banquet room that you can rent out for an event such as a birthday party or a wedding, in fact, when I was there, they were setting it up for a Sweet 16 birthday which made me feel old being in my mid 20s. To ensure that patrons drink responsibly, parents or guardians of minors are allowed only two alcoholic drinks. What really won me over was Taylor and Erin. These two lovely ladies are what make the magic happen here at IRSH. Taylor loves cats and dad jokes and Erin loves trains. Just one downside though, for all of you parents out there with children under 5, the highchairs are not in good condition, so bring your own if you can, but NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINK. This applies to baby food as well. They have a kids menu, so you won't need baby food. And another downside is that it is impossible to cross Bellevue avenue because there is no crosswalk. Hopefully the borough of Langhorne Manor and PennDOT will do something to resolve this issue. read more

I've been going to the Rover for years. The beer list usually has some nice fresh craft beers, nothing rare or too crazy style wise, but they do have some good finds and a nice variety of styles. Seating options are so flexible here. They offer bar seating, tables in a louder sports bar area or in more of a quieter back area. The outside seating on a nice day is relaxing as well. The menu has a great mix of pub grub and restaurant items. I've been to so many different occasions here over the years. Private parties, lunch meetups, dinners, sporting events, etc. like I said it's a very flexible place! Food wise you can't go wrong with their wings. I've definitely had some misses here and there with food, but they've always made things right. They aren't perfect, but for this area they are a nice change of pace from all the big chains with local owners. read more

First of all, Caroline is a gem! She went above and beyond. She answered our questions and was very attentive. She told us about the burger contest. We plan on coming back for that. We chose Irish Rover because the weather was perfect to sit outside on their large patio. We started with the pretzel bites. You get a very large serving with homemade beer cheese which is the best I have ever had. I had the French Dip. This sandwich is excellent. Hand carved roast beef, sautéd onions, melted provolone cheese on a fabulous roll with home made Aus jus. The best I have ever had. My friend got the salmon. She said it was very good. She called to walk me through the process and menu options and was very understanding as we estimated the number of guests. Her suggestions for the room set up including ample space for displays and reserving tables for immediate family proved invaluable. 2nd time here the first time we had soup and really didn't enjoy it. This time we enjoyed a Ruben and chips and later ordered the nachos. The Ruben needed a little more dressing but overall it was good. The chips are home made and nice and Crispy. The nachos were stacked high with lots of sour cream and nacho cheese. They hit the spot. This is a bar that has the regular customers at least 4 of the people at the bar say they come here at least 4 days a week. Everyone was friendly and the bar tender was superb. read more

I wanted to like this place as soon as we walked in. The atmosphere was good. The service was great. Unfortunately, the food was not very good. We went for the pork chop special (on Tuesday). It would have been good except it had been seared (burnt) to give grill marks, which resulted in a taste of a burned dirty grill. The bf got a burger that was "one step above mcdonalds". My friends and I came to the Irish Rover Station House to watch a game a few weeks ago. While there, one person in my group asked to watch a different game that was on. After about 15 minutes of confusion, the manager said that they were working on it and the new game would be on shortly. Well, we had asked again during the first, second, third AND fourth quarter of the game. Each time met with a response of either silence and avoidance, or droves of "I don't know how to work the TV" or "We are working on it" and blame was put on the TV provider. Each time we had the same result - no game on TV. So, you could say the overall experience wasn't great for us. For a sports bar that has at least 15 TVs it was very disheartening. Moving on to food. We decided to try a few appetizers, including but not limited to the boneless wings and the French onion soup. The boneless wings were horribly burnt, and the sauce was thin and undesirable. The soup looked appealing at least, but that too fell short. The onions were barely cooked and there was barely enough cheese to cover the bowl. Overall, I would have to say I don't recommend this establishment for game day - unless you are solely drinking and are happy with the games that are on. read more

Been coming here for years and always have a great time! Perfect place for any occasion, they have a great happy hour and can fit groups of to any size. They even have a banquet room for large parties. Food and service is phenomenal, you can truly tell based on the amount of regulars that call this their favorite bar. My favorite thing to eat is the Cajun shrimp! I dream about them bad boys. Spicy and saucy! Wings are great too especially if you're a sharer like me! Staff is friendly and welcoming! And the environment is always fun! They frequently have something going on promo wise during the different season of the year. In the past we've been to bike raffles, ugly sweater parties, etc. You can also expect live music and the best Saint Patty's Day party this side of the Neshaminy Creek! Drinks and food were good. The manager, on the other hand, was argumentative, rude, and refused to serve us. Thursday at 2pm the place was empty. A bunch of my coworkers came here to celebrate three retiring teachers on our last day of school. The manager told us it was ok for us to sit outside but we couldn't open the umbrella or move the chairs. We waited about 45 minutes for a waiter. There was no wind and the UV index was extremely high. My co-workers and I were becoming overheated and burnt. So we opened the umbrella. The manager started yelling at us for opening the umbrella. Threatened to kick us out if we opened the umbrella again. We told him we'd been waiting to be served and we are becoming burnt. He was making assumptions that we wouldn't tip and we would want the bill split. The actual server Sean was excellent and patient. He apologized for the manager's behavior. read more

Our server was very attentive and accommodating. I always appreciate when there's a turkey burger option, but I went with the impossible burger this time. They don't take reservations, ( but was told 2 months prior it was to early to request seating )so we had to go 1 hr earlier to put in for seating for 19 for a birthday celebration, when 12 got there they would start to seat us @ the requested time ,seated 15 and had to wait for other customers to finish eating for their table !! ( one table offered us theirs and we were told to back away and give them space ) what poor management on their part .we told if another party comes with a big group they will get our seating !! We came here for a light lunch and an afternoon drink with extended family. I have never been here but always heard good things. I want to say I didn't realize how big this place was. They have outdoor seating, a long bar if you just want to catch a game, a dining room & banquet room. They had a decent menu selection and an awesome summer bucket menu for drinks to share. I split the Mermaid water with my friend, and the guys got beer. They have a ton of beer on tap. I ordered the fish tacos because it was recommended by our server James. He was on the ball, super friendly and even joked around with us. I really enjoyed my tacos, and it came with this amazing guacamole I could have just ate that and the chips. My hubby got Soup & chicken fingers. He said it was good, not your typical overly greasy bar food. Our friends ordered sandwiches and they were just as pleased with their food. I would definitely be back and I love that they have daily specials like taco Mondays and Sundae Funday, make your own sundae on Sunday nights. I love this place. Mike the manager always goes above and beyond to help us get our disabled daughter in a wheelchair into her favorite restaurant!!! Service is always good. Beer is great. With all of the so so reviews we were a bit hesitant to try the Irish Rover. Well, tonight was the night. We were pleasantly surprised. They have decent bar food. We arrived around 4 and the place is massive. They offer I think 24 drafts that all rotate. We were sat in the back in a quiet area. Our server Adrian was great! Personable and very attentive. Both my wife and I started with the French onion soup. It was good! The broth was spot on, it lacked the onions though and could have used more. The cheese could have also been cooked another minute or so. I went with basic burger and the wife had the farmers salad. My wife seemed to enjoy her salad. It came out dressed. She prefers her dressing on the side. The veggies were all fire roasted and fresh. My burger was cooked well and seasoned well. I love a burger cooked on an open flame. The tomato and lettuce were fresh, the bun was buttery and fantastic! I'm a huge fan of steak fries and these were spot on and hit the spot. Solid meal and quite a surprise. Came back for an after work happy hour: 5pm-7pm Monday thru Friday and I'm living for it. They've got a great selection of beers on tap and some decent food specials ($4 cheeseburgers when I was there!) It was very busy when I popped in at 6:30pm on a rainy Tuesday. I was pretty surprised to find there was only one empty stool at the bar. In Penndel this evening and my GF Andrea recommended the Irish Rover. So here we are. Nice big parking lot next to the septa line. The interior is a sports bar theme with outdoor patio seating. We elected outside because it's warm with a nice breeze. The appetizer was CL fries but to us older peeps we call them disco fries. Big portion for $6 and done perfect. Andrea ordered a bacon cheese burger which was nice and juicy and 8oz big. I ordered the French dip sandwich with coleslaw. The sandwich was not filled to my expectations for $13 and even with the sauce the meat was dry. The coleslaw which some of you don't know is my Kryptonite lacked mayo and vinegar. All in all the food was ok but I doubt I come back. But I do know from previous sundays, the wings are awesome here. I guess it's what you order.
