Today was our second time at OCI (the last time was about 5-6 years ago) and honestly just forgot to come back! We are so glad we came today, we sat on the outdoor deck for lunch which had a nice breeze and covered the sun! They have horseshoe pits and picnic tables below by the water and you can see a waterfall in the creek from the tables! We both did a build your own burger (I got grilled chicken and made it a wrap) my husband got a normal burger! We added fries and tots and were given a huge portion we took half home! Our server Melissa was friendly and attentive! We will definitely be coming back! And to top it off our server brought us a free leinenkugel glass after ordering a summer shandy! read more

Trying to loop back and give updated reviews on my favs and tonight we are back at the OCI. Normally we would be sitting out on the deck but with today's temps in the 90s we are eating inside. The bar area is a lot noisier than the deck but nice nonetheless. OCI runs lots of specials and always has something different to offer. Additionally they feature Burger nights on Wednesdays where you build your own burger 10.99 and cheese steak nights on Tuesdays where the Philly fav will only cost you 9.99 with fries. Come in on a Monday and treat yourself to veal parm with pasta and salad for 18.99. All in addition to their pretty varied menu. We haven't ever had anything we had to send back. The chef here takes his bar fare serious and aims to please. Servers here are always friendly and attentive and the place always has a good crowd. The OCI has always been a good time. I've ate in, taken food out and hung out in the back playing horseshoes by the creek over the years and I can't tell you the experience has been five stars or better, but they haven't been bad. The inside decor matches the setting of the building (almost 200 years old btw), rustic, little dark, tucked away and off the beaten path. There are plenty of TV's to view from any seat in the house. You can sit on at the long bar, at a high top table or regular dining. During nicer weather they have seating outside. The staff has always been very nice. Drink wise I believe they have about 8 taps plus bottles. Mostly typical macro brews with a seasonals or craft tap. I'm not sure about their cocktail lists, but they do have wine and booze. Food wise they have a good mix of apps/pub grub/sandwiches mixed in with dinner entrees. Their wings are usually good and the boneless wings are tasty. I'll have to build my own burger next time I visit to eat in. You check all the boxes of how you want your burger built and they do the rest. Most of the other food I've had their with my family has been ok to good. The pressed cuban, chipotle chicken sandwich, quesadilla, french dip, buffalo chicken wrap, fish and chips and pot roast were edible and average, but not mind blowing. Wow, it's a small place but they delivered big on customer service and top notch food. The reviews said they had good burgers, so I went in with some expectation of it being decent, but I was taken back with how good the burger was. Also the fries! I don't usually like thicker fries, but these were perfectly crispy on the outside and pillowy on the inside. I would highly recommend anyone looking for a quality go to place for good food. read more

I've been wanting to try this place for a long time, and I finally got the opportunity to go on one of the hottest days so far this summer. I liked that they had outside dining, but not when it was almost 100 degrees outside, so we ate inside. To start, we pulled up to the restaurant/bar, and the parking lot was big, but there were not a lot of cars there. This place is not seen from the road because it is inset in the woods, not a forest, but a lot of trees surround it, which I love, and it looked rustic on the outside. The inside was nicely decorated, with the 4th of July coming up, a fireplace, five big screen TVs hanging from the ceiling, and the Phillies playing on most of them. Brown hardwood floors and about ten tables in a big dining area were shared with the bar, so I can imagine how noisy it must get when busy. Someone told us to sit anywhere we wanted. Our waiter's name was Tim, and he was very knowledgeable about the menu, which was a plus. My friend and I both got burgers, and you can build your burgers here; I ordered a burger with their hand-cut potato fries, and on my burger, I had Sharp Cheddar Cheese, sliced red Onions, and the OCI sauce on top. They have an extensive list of condiments to add to your burger and tots on the side. The burger was delicious, and the OCI sauce was perfect on it. The fries, on the other hand, were just ok. They lack seasoning, very bland. My friends' tots were delicious and well-seasoned; I ate most of them. We ordered two Cannolis for dessert because they were homemade, beautiful, and delicious. As I said earlier, it's one big room; it can get noisy. Pick a night that is not usually busy. It's worth it, and I know I'll be going back. .Came here last year with some of my family after my sister was raving about all the 4 and 5 stars on Yelp, so this was a must try burger joint. We stopped here when they first opened and were the only ones in here. The waitress was super friendly and welcomed us with a smile. We ended up getting the make your own burgers where you can basically add your toppings through checking them off on a paper what you wanted . You can say whether you want a single, double, triple or quadruple patty, and add bacon, peppers, onions, onion rings, basically everything you can think of, plus different types of sauces. I ended up building a bbq bacon cheeseburger with onion rings on top and had some french fries with it. Everything was cooked to perfection, and the burger was dripping down my hand- messy like I love it! We also ordered some funnel cake fries which were covered with powder sugar and they were so tasty. One of the best meals I have had in quite a while. I ordered the Coconut Shrimp as an appetizer and then the Pot Roast Dinner with Mashed Potatoes and Cole Slaw for my dinner. It brought me back to the days when food was tasty, fresh, a generous portion, really incredible prices for what you get, and just plain delicious. Why didn't I know of this restaurant before? OCI is a small neighborhood bar and grill which is literally in the woods on Neshaminy Creek. The atmosphere is lively and loud with great live music on the weekends. They do have a modern video jukebox but we were there on a Friday for the live sounds of an awesome guitar player and singer. His repertoire of songs was vast and eclectic. He was pretty impressive for such a young guy. In wintertime they have an enclosed heated patio off the main room however, it was empty. Everyone was in the main bar room listening to the music. The service was simply outstanding. Friendly servers and hostess work together to make sure food is delivered and drinks are refilled. We started with the shrimp wrapped bacon. Each shrimp was wrapped in what seemed like 2 pieces of bacon. The bacon was crisp and the shrimp tender. Horseradish dipping sauce was creamy and tangy. I had a cheeseburger with grilled onions on a fresh Kaiser roll. The burger patty was huge and hand formed, cooked medium rare as requested; delicious! My husband had the Italian roast pork sandwich which he described as a delicious sloppy mess. The pork was tender and packed into a ciabatta roll with cheese and peppers. The problem was the gravy which made the sandwich almost impossible to pick up and eat without everything squirting out. So, it became and knife and fork open-faced sandwich. The fries are freshly made from real potatoes with skin intact. They were thick cut and delicious, especially the small crunchy bits at the bottom of the basket. My fave!! You won't find their burgers on the menu. They have pre-printed pads and pencils at the table for their "build your own burger". You choose the meat, cheese, toppings, sauce and bread. It's like a little hole in the wall I live in Bensalem for over 10 years and never knew that place was there I saw a sign but I never really paid attention to it. To get there and go up 513 N. which is Humeville Blvd. and in Bensalem you cross the bridge and you are in Humeville Pa10947 ? Make a left it's on Beaver Street . You have make left again and you go down this little road and your there. They have make your own Burgers there they give you a pencil and a pad the full out what you want. I've been coming to the inn for years but after the owner refused to honor his commitment to the community and honor a small 1/2 price off appetizer only coupon if you participated in a ghost tour. It must be nice to take advantage of your community and stating the coupon terms publicly and then refusing to honor his word was just a ploy to get free advertising. OCI Bar & Grill is off the beaten path along Neshaminy Creek in Hulmeville, PA. I thought I was in the wrong place on a narrow winding road until I saw the actual building in front of me. It feels a little like Middle Earth, yet the joint is cozy and dim with a nice size bar and several TVs showing sports (The Preakness was on while we were there). We were there for the "Make Your Own Burgers," and after settling in on a 4 stool hightop, we found the forms to be completed and the little golf pencils, and went to work. The process was to check off choice of meat, cheese, condiments and accompaniments (some free, some not), and the roll desired. Base price is $9.99, but with upgrades the price can jump a few bucks. Fresh cut fries are also available for an extra $2. I went with what I though was a patty melt (onions, spicy mayo and swiss cheese on Jewish rye), while son opted for sautéed shrooms and red peppers on brioche. Although we both asked for a medium finish, the pucks were more medium well, without pink centers. Regardless, they were both juicy and delicious, with no sign of freezer life. Really very good. The only downside, and this could be on me for thinking the kitchen knew what the Jewish rye was for, was that what I got rather than a Patty Melt was a burger on plain, ungrilled bread. It just didn't work without a crisp bite to the rye from time on the hot steel. I kicked the slices to the curb and ate everything else. Next time, I will specify the bread should be grilled. The fries came in a small deep fry stainless basket and were also quite good. Despite those issues, OCI is a cool place to hang out. Prices are good, and once the kinks are worked out, the kitchen should turn out quality dishes. They are on the right track. read more

Disgusting and inattentive staff. I went here with a few friends 2 times now and each time has been horrible. This past time it took a while to get a order in for drinks AND food. It was Monday and a pretty empty bar. Absolutely no reason to not have a waitress come over when they saw 3 empty drinks. I even raised my hand and still nothing. A patron gave me a high five. Instead the staff was on their phones and talking to their regulars. My food was less than good and had a hair on my plate. A long hair. Never again. I gave it 2x and that's more than enough to try. Ignore the bad reviews you may read about OCI. My wife, kids and myself went here for dinner (June 2023) and the experience was great, the food was great and the prices were beyond fair. Our waitress was great and answered any questions we had as it was our first time and even encouraged us to check out the back deck seating area with a great view of the waterfall. OCI is known for the build your own burgers, naturally I tried that, my wife had a BYO chicken sandwich and kids had mac&cheese (not that box stuff some restaurants serve). Hands down one of the best burgers in town, amazing homemade m&c and the wife was well pleased with her chicken sandwich. I'll say I'm looking forward to trying the wings that get a lot of buzz as well. read more

The OCI is the best neighborhood restaurant and bar around. Right on the creek with a view of the falls, has a cozy indoor seating and bar area on the first floor, pool tables upstairs, and a great open air deck with clear garage doors, overlooking horseshoe pits and a patio area with another bar. The food is delicious (try the crab cakes) and the drinks are cold (try the pineapple margarita)! The owner Dean is personable and always take the time to stop and say hello, and bartenders Lisa and Bella simply can not be beat - they are beyond attentive. But I can say the patio has a nice view of the woods and the falls. And the food is good. We had pierogi's, cheesesteak eggrolls and a burger. The eggrolls were great, the burger was very solid. Saw this place on Facebook on a "Hidden Gems" post of the area. Finally had a chance to try it out and it did not disappoint!! The loaded cheesesteak tots were so good! I built my own burger/sandwich and could use a sheet to select all the toppings and sauces you could think of. The portions were very good and prices were very reasonable. Everything was very fresh! Our waiter was very nice, I believe it was his first night there. Great food, great atmosphere, and great customer service. If I could criticize anything, I brought my 3 year old during dinner time (we were not sure if it was "kid friendly" but no kids menu or cups BUT I'm pretty sure that's not their demographic so it's not really their issue. Disappointed. Couldn't eat outside by the waterfall, private party. Service was very good, however, the food was a different story. We both ordered an entree. I ordered roasted pork loin, smothered in gravy, not a fan of gravy, It was just ok, the Asian vegetables were most likely out of a bag, no special flavoring. I couldn't wait to try this place for a burger! Since "Build your own Burger Night" (Wednesday) fell on my Birthday, I seized the moment! The establishment was a tad bit off the beaten path. You could easily miss the turn off so pay attention to the small signs and side street. There was plenty of parking which was good because it was packed! It is a casual laid back bar/saloon atmosphere. Plenty of dining area options. We did not eat outside, but the back patio was a lovely open area. Though the servers were busy, we were greeted and got our drinks quickly. They have a good selection menu with pretty much something for everyone. But we only had the fried pickles (perfect sliced crispy dill pickles) and the Burgers. I loved having the options on a sheet in front of me with a pencil to check off your options. There was PLENTY to choose from! We enjoyed the music, and atmosphere while waiting. The burgers were indeed perfection! They exceeded my expectations! The fresh cut fries were right up my alley and I finished them way before the burger! Both my husband and I were wise enough to have cut our burgers in half and I'm already looking forward to finishing them for lunch tomorrow! I went in today after wanting to do so for some time. The restaurant and bar are located off the beaten trail in what appears to be a rural residential street or dead end. The parking was a larger lot but unpaved in the back, well lit but no real organized spaces. The building has great character. I entered into a bar area with about 15 tables and a bar that seated no more than 20. The bartender Lisa, she had introduced herself she was friendly, very attentive, made suggestions and answered all my many questions about the establishment and the menu that I requested to see. There is a unique build your own burger option (see photos) that included a shrimp burger. The interior decor was a bit dated and the bar was drab, there was no real focal point in the room and a poorly lit bar area backlighting behind the bar where​ bottles are displayed was dark and a catch-all​ for a whole lot more than bottles. The entire room was so dark that reading the menu was extremely difficult I even noticed the few tables using their phone flashlight (see pictures) to try and read the menu. For us old folk that's​ not very convenient. There was a singer Casey Welborn who had a ​guest singer with him, it was extremely casual no stage or real area but in a cluttered corner with the maybe 20 people frequently directing the song choices. The sound system was poor quality. The drinks were good, I tried two from the Faber special menu that I had to request, the Rum Therapy cocktail was extremely sweet I couldn't​ drink it. I ordered​ the wings with a tasty hot honey bbq​​ sauce. They were very meaty and served with a 5 celery sticks fresh and crisp a side of excellent bleu cheese that was house made. The bar stools were extremely uncomfortable, specifically the backs. The bar bill was $31.34 for a Kettle One Cosmo, a kamikaze shot and the Faber Rum Therapy. I opted to move to a table for dinner. The table I sat at was along the windows and there was an airconditioner vent under it that made it so cold I had to move. The restroom​​​ was extremely small and although​ it had a sink, urinal, ​and commode it was tighter then some planes I have been on. There was a slide latch on the main door, no door on the commode area but I wasn't sure if I​ was supposed​ to lock the door or not. The window in it was smashed and the room itself was dingy. My server was Cheryl, she was friendly and had a great smile and paid​ close attention to me and provided everything I needed without me having to ask. I ordered off the weekly blackboard specials and had the Honey Garlic Salmon for $17.99, the same as on the regular menu. It was a small piece of wild-caught Norwegian salmon sauteed with honey, garlic, and lemon. The sauce was very good but the salmon was dry, possibly overcooked. it was accompanied with homemade real mash potatoes that were very good and french cut green beans that lacked flavor or seasoning. the entertainment did some good songs but the banter between the large table in front of him and himself was annoying and seemed to be personal conversation during the set. The dinner bill was $24.82 and that included a Bacardi and coke. I will go back again and try it in another area of the building, apparently, there is a game room and a deck.​ read more

The bar is a little tucked away but thay doesn't make it a bad thing! A nice colonial-style building that sits creekside to the Neshaminy. Great kitchen that's open late which is hard to find! I recommend most of their menu. Bartenders are fast and confident and rarely have to wait for drinks or menus. There is no smoking on the first floor but there is a second floor game room with two pool tables thats perfect for small groups which allows smoking. I've been going to OCI for years. Last week the manager was very rude to me and my friend. The manager is also a bartender there. She is on her phone constantly or away from the bar talking to friends. I have waited up to 20 minutes to get a drink. I also went every night for happy hour which is from 5 to 6. A couple of times I got there at 4:55 and she charged me full price. I thought that was very ignorant of her being that I was a steady customer. She is very moody and can be very mean. I spoke to the owner and he could of cared less. The customer is always right no matter what. They will not let her go only because the owner can't be bothered training anyone else. I've seen regulars there that also left because she sucked. That must tell you something. Also, the place is filthy. The bar is always sticky and the glasses are always dirty. Don't waste your time, money or sanity!! This place has potential to be a nice little dive bar that is tucked away off of the main roads but unfortunately leaves a lot to be desired. I went to check out this place because I purchased a Groupon and was hopeful this would be a new place for my family to order from. After a long day, I ordered a take out order over the phone and went to pick it up. As soon as I entered the place I was disappointed because I was not greeted by anyone so I was unsure as to who worked there or where to pick up my order so I proceeded to the bar. The woman standing at the bar (later found out her name was Kathy) asked if I was picking up the to-go order and I informed her I was. Apparently, she worked there because she went behind the bar, got my bags and informed me I was waiting for one more bag but then handed me my bill. I reviewed the bill, which was more than I expected because the prices did not match the prices they had on their website menu, but I gave her my Groupon and extra money to cover the bill. Kathy looks at the Groupon and starts asking a guy (Tom), who was sitting/eating at the bar, if they could take the Groupon. They spoke back and forth (2 seats away from me) about how I did not order entrees, it wasn't dine in, etc. and they could not take the Groupon. Kathy came back over to me to inform me they couldn't take it and I stated that there are no exclusions listed on the Groupon and it needs to be honored or I wouldn't be taking the food. Kathy looked at me and with a nasty attitude says "Really?!" I told her that I had the Groupon which was why I ordered from there and they can't decide to just not take it because they wanted to make last minute changes/rules. Tom continues to say how restaurant Groupons are usually for dine in only, it wouldn't cover any sandwiches (which they are known for their burgers) and that the Groupon is basically considering that a dinner bill would be about $80 so the Groupon I had would make it half off. I'm sorry but what?!? So because I didn't order $80 worth of food and ordered take out because it wasn't indicated on the Groupon it was dine in only and I had ordered sandwiches, I was receiving attitude from the woman Kathy, the guy Tom and some other young twit that was sitting at the bar drinking who I am assuming is a customer but not sure because you can't tell who works there and who doesn't. The only positive thing about this place was Joe the cook because he came out from the back (probably because they were all making this into a big issue and had me there for 20 minutes to pick up a to-go order!!!) but he was rationally talking to the other employees saying "Dean" who I guess is either the manager or owner, would change his mind and sometimes sandwiches are included in the Groupon and sometimes they aren't and that Groupons do explain in detail how you can use them whether it be dine in, specific meals, etc. I was so thankful for Joe being there because he seemed to be the only decent individual in that place because he was not giving attitude and seemed to really understand the situation. Being a young woman and having 2 grown men and 1 woman giving me attitude and talking about this situation right next to me while other customers witnessed was ridiculous. This was honestly the least professional establishment I have ever been to and regret giving them any of my money. After finally getting home, the food was cold and greasy so not worth the money or the stress of dealing with the unprofessional and rude employees.
