Last time I was a kid all I remember was a meatball sandwich. That and the sawdust on a shuffle board table. This time, I saw the game is still there along with the bar and kitchen. A second bar area was added on. We walked through to another large dining area addition where we sat at one of many large tables. I ordered the ham and cabbage special and a side of fried pickles, and went back to the original bar for an Irish beverage. Everything was tasty. Thankfully, nobody pinched me for not wearing green. Hopefully it isn't another 40 years before my next visit!

So the chili is loaded with meat and while I didn't like the flavor it wasn't a waste. But the seafood soup was a cup of watery broth - there was absolutely nothing else but a watery broth but they gladly charged me $6 for it. It's absolutely shameful and because of that and I won't be back.

The place is a sports bar, and to their credit, they have lots of large screen TV's so that games are visible from every table. There's a good selection of beers, and service is very good and caring. The food was where my disappointment set in. I first ordered a pork sandwich with broccoli rabe and long hots. Happily, the sandwich held a good amount of meat. Sadly, it lacked seasoning and flavor, and felt like I was eating baby food. After two bites, I ordered a different Kenny item. The featured beef sandwich (my long time favorite) was filled with a generous portion of beef that, unfortunately was very tough and dry. In the past, the roll was dipped in jus, and practically melted in your mouth. Now it's a dry sandwich with a small cup of jus for dipping. I'm hoping that today was just an off day because I have a soft spot in my heart for this place. After all, I'd been coming here and loving those beef sandwiches for over 50 years. Would love to see a full return to their former glory.

It's certainly on the larger side compared to most bars in the area. The staff has always been nice, but service can get slow when the crowd size grows. Just the nature of things. Food wise the menu has a typical mix of pub grub - apps, soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers and several entrees. A friend was eating their jumbo Buffalo Shrimp off the starter menu and raved about them. I stuck to a Cheesesteak which was average but a deal at $9.50 -- the chopped steak was decent, cheese was good just needed a bit more. Hot peppers gave it some kick and the long roll was fresh. Their beer menu has around a dozen beers on tap. They dabble in more mainstream big beer/craft beer like your Goose Island IPA's/Lagunitas IPA, but do have a decent show of locals like Yards, Victory, Troegs and Weyerbacher. Bourbon wise I had a Knob Creek neat which was average price wise. The pour was on the generous side. Each time I've been here the crowds have been friendly and having a good time. A couple weeks ago she had the nerve to comment on my face in front of the entire table. She claimed that I "always give her dirty looks" and "always look so angry when I'm here". I was stunned and so embarrassed. For one, I don't know her personally, we have never had a conversation outside of her taking my order and quite frankly it's none of her business how my face looks anyway. Second of all how embarrassing is it to be called out in front of a bunch of people like that? I couldn't believe the words that came out of her mouth. Before I left I politely told her I didn't appreciate her calling me out like that and she got very defensive. Not an apology from her, she didn't care one bit. She started arguing with me and acting like I was overreacting and like she didn't do anything wrong. She should take a look at herself in the mirror and think twice before she speaks. I'll never step foot into this bar again.
