Food Truck Review: I'm from a much larger metropolitan area, so finding options for food I like is difficult at best in any small town. Add to that that I'm extremely picky, and it's a mix for cooking food for myself most days here in SC. But, let's start simple: Iron Door BBQ - I located them quite by accident, but decided to try the experience at the food truck. If you're looking for them, they are in a great, easy to find location. Kid's/Senior's menu - ORDERED Sliders & 4 oz side: Pickles: if they make their own, they need to consider jarring them and selling them by themselves. These dills have the right amount of dill flavor and snap that any quality pickle should have. I liken them to Clausen dill pickles - the only ones I normally eat. OUTSTANDING. Brisket Sliders: Two come in the kids meal, and I ordered them just as they come (no mods). Two small toasted rolls with more brisket than bread (very generous with the meat), and just the right amount of regular sauce placed right on top of the meat. The brisket is tender and seasoned very well. The smoky flavor with the pickle and the sauce - AMAZING. The meal is enough to eat for lunch and not feel so full that you need a nap. Smoky Mac n Cheese: I wasn't quite sure I'd like this, but ordered it anyway. I was pleasantly surprised by this cheesy goodness that has cracked pepper and just the right amount of smoke flavor, mixed with this velvety cheese and perfectly cooked elbow mac. Stellar side! Regular menu - ORDERED Loaded Potato (you pick the meat): I ordered the potato because, I'll admit, a loaded potato to me is the PERFECT meal. This one was going to be judged hard. You wait a few minutes for this, but after eating it, it is WORTH IT. The potato is a medium size potato, perfectly baked, soft but not wrinkly and dry. As a creature of habit, I chose brisket . Same generously portioned, tender brisket covering the top of the potato, with shredded cheese and green chiles. Once your toppings are added, this is a meal enough for several days, or multiple people, and frankly, I don't plan on sharing this with anyone! Note, the regular potato comes with nacho cheese, but when asked, they were more than happy to swap it out with shredded cheese. Again, I ordered to-go through the food truck, but I received upbeat, pleasant service that set my expectations on wait time (which was even shorter than I thought it would be). My bag contained my warm food, napkins and utensils (without needing to ask) and was brought out with a smile. This was a 5-star experience from the food truck and I'm betting the restaurant service and food is the same. I'm glad I branched out to try Iron Door when I was craving good BBQ, as this place serves just that. Their menu is much larger than my choices above, and as mentioned, they have a kid's and senior's menu, if you prefer smaller portions, or want to try many things. Brisket is awesome. I decided to try the tri tip (only sold on Wednesday). It was not near a good as the brisket. It was tender but no flavor, almost as though they left off any spices. Usually when I go very friendly people, however the Wednesday I went a young lady was working, they had to go look for her to help, then she acted like she did not want to be there, as though it was so much work (it was 12 noon) she was not friendly. She forgot items in the order handed out before mine and forgot items i mine. I guess she was just having a bad day like so many of us have. read more

We tried this for the first time. My husband had brisket very good smoky flavor. I had pulled pork sandwich which was excellent, loved the fact the bun was toasted and the sauce was fantastic sweet and smoky. potato salad was also very good mustard base. Definitely a good place to give a try. read more

The beef brisket was absolutely delicious, and the chicken was almost as good. I had coleslaw and macaroni with cheese sides. The staff was very friendly. The ambience was nice with the option of eating outside in a covered patio. read more

So I heard this place started serving breakfast burritos and I had to try one out. I tried the chorizo and egg with cheese and potatoes. There's another place not too far from this venue, and their main thing is burritos. However the burrito I got from Iron Door was very good. It wasn't dry, and yet it wasn't sloppy either.the taste was on point and it was a fat burrito. Price is equally nice. It's a quaint little spot and the employees are very nice and polite. We had a great conversation and I was able to sample a couple of different meats and something I'm not a fan of at all. The nice lady/cook insisted that I try her coleslaw. I will go try their tacos and she said they put this coleslaw in the tacos. So against my better judgment, I gave it a try and it was very tasty. I was shocked. I'm not opposed to giving different things a try. There are a lot of foods that I don't eat or care for, but if they insist that I try, then I will. I mean it should enhance the review. I'll definitely be going back and trying some other items from the menu. From what I've tried, I give it a 10/10 So if any of y'all are ever in Silver City NM give this Iron Door a try. I have many bbq grills and finally had my chance to taste Iron Doors bbq My wife got pulled pork sandwich which she loved I got the brisket both flat and point Both were great but especially liked the point which is most people's choice The sides were over cooked I enjoyed talking to the wife as she does a lot of the cooking Super friendly and she knows what she is doing Would recommend the bbq and hopefully I will be able to try other items like ribs, chicken and Tri tip read more

Straight off, let me preface with I'm a Georgia girl. And I know and love barbecue. Seriously, I gestated my two children largely on pulled pork and fried okra in the deep south. This is good stuff. Tender pork, nice flavor to the sauce. The proportions could have used *just* a tablespoon more of the sauce to spread nicely through the sandwich for more optimal moisture but that's minor. The "smoked" mac-and-cheese is sublime. My dear man got the "smoked" cowboy beans and raved about them as well. I love that they offer the coleslaw on the side from the outset without having to ask. More than anything I adore the signature Silver City hospitality and friendliness--the staff is amazing with newcomers and overhearing heartfelt, genuine conversations with locals just puts this place over the top. read more

Damn! The first time I had the ribs they were very meaty. The last time I ordered three meat combo: ribs - burnt. 2 ribs and small bone with meat, one rib had hardly any meat and they were all burnt. The chopped brisket and pulled pork were overcooked, way OVERCOOKED! I wonder if it was old meat from yesterday or beyond. They shouldn't serve that! Wasn't a very good experience. The beans and mac and cheese were good. And I wonder if I got the overcooked food because I didn't give a good tip (15%). Won't be going there again, regardless of the good reviews. read more

Excellent bbq from a food truck. Very friendly service. Seating is outdoor picnic tables, some of them under a tent. Most of their business seems to be local takeout. We both got the 2 meat combo plates. We chose chopped brisket, pulled pork, sides of coleslaw and smoked Mac and cheese. They offer tri-tip on Wednesdays. Husband wanted that but they were already sold out by 11:30 so go early! They have ribs on Friday and Saturday. I imagine they sell out early too. read more
