The atmosphere is very classic brewery style with brick walls, games to play, and they brew their own beer in house. The service is friendly, was greeted on the way in :) The food was delicious! The pizzas were very good for being thin crust, and they were pretty innovative with the toppings. The price is also pretty fair, didn't mind the price for the quality of food. Brewery visit #171 for me. Yes, that is 171 different breweries not one brewery 171 times... IGB is a cool spot right on a corner. Parking sucks, but it is downtown so that is to be expected. We ended up at Iron Goat Brewing mostly because it had a cool name. Lots of breweries in this area. It could take even me a day or two to visit all of them, and I'm a dedicated beer drinker. I would have gone professional but I had an injury and missed my window. Don't ask... Brewskis blonde is a nice light beer that gave me a little hint of a lemon peel flavor on the tongue at the end. The Saison du Chèvre Wallonian farmhouse ale was next. This had the expected barnyard note which seems like an odd thing to want in a beer too many people. It works once you develop a little taste for it. I love a good sour, so the blackberry apricot sour was up next. I got apricot on the nose and on the tongue but couldn't pick up the blackberry. SWPFTD said she got blackberry initially from it and then apricot at the end. The Goatmeal Stout was next, which I liked right off because of the dumb "Dad joke" name. Dad jokes rock, although my kids don't always agree. This was a decent oatmeal stout, and I'm picky about my oatmeal stouts since that is the style that really got me interested in real beer. I would have liked a little more body out of this one but the flavors were very good. Bob's Your Uncle robust porter is a good one but in my mind is really just the run up to the bourbon barrel aged Bobs Your Uncle. I specifically want to try both so I could compare. This porter is definitely a good one to barrel age. Ok, the bourbon barrel aged porter is my beer. This had really good notes of oak and bourbon. I might just take some of this with me to drink later this evening. SWPFTD predictably went with the Irish Kate imperial red. This was a fine red from the aroma all the way through to the finish. I'm renaming this one the Irish SWPFTD, although that acronym/nickname is not strictly true today. Food wise we went with a Caesar salad and a BBQ brisket burrito. Both were good and I would eat these again. The Caesar salad was not what I expected as it came with no croutons but had bacon in it. Not typical, but tasty. The burrito was very flavorful. We would definitely come back. IGC is brewing up some very good beers, the food is good, and the space is welcoming. We stopped by on a rare visit to Spokane, hungry for a good pizza. We vaguely remembered eating some great pizza at a place with "goat" in the name and since we downtown, Yelp suggested Iron Goat Brewing. Sounded familiar so we headed over. The location was different than we remembered they had an extensive beer and cider menu and creative types of pizza so we ordered and settled in. Everything was excellent and we made it a point to note the name and location so we can get back to it next time we're in the area. I was quite surprised to find that this place was jumping on a Thursday afternoon at 4:00 pm, and by 5 o'clock it was packed. There is a legitimate reason for this. The beer is excellent. Well, that is based on one sample of three different beers. If you are adventurous, you have to try a flight of beers because you can taste six distinctly different flavors if you do this. Did I mention that the food is also really tasty and if you sit close to the kitchen you will be continually assaulted with delicious odors wafting by. Wowwww I went during the restaurant week and had no expectation since it's a $21 dollar course meal at a brewery. And I WAS WRONG! Their salmon was soooooo goood! Arancini was also good. It was very crunchy outside and inside was filled with yummy risotto. I loved their romesco sauce on the bottom. It def makes fried meal tastes less oily. But man, that salmon and cauliflower puree though!!! Thinking about it makes me drool again! Their avocado topping def adds more flavor to it since salmon can taste a little too strong sometimes. My least favorite was their tiramisu though. It tasted a little bit soggy? But i can't complain because everything else was so good! They do not have a parking lot so street parking is required. Solid brewery in downtown Spokane. We stopped in when we were in town and enjoyed ourselves. I had a few of their stouts and thought they were tasty. Took a six pack of a good IPA to go and drank it when we were out by the river the next few days. The wife was pregnant and didn't have any beers but she said the chicken salad sandwich was A+. Talk about steam punk awesome location! This place has large bay door like windows that let in so much light. The inside is very industrial motif, exposed brick and beams, very high ceilings. This place had a lot of really cool rustic seating that I find particularly inviting. The guys at the bar were very fast to explain their beers, offer up a few suggestions and got our tastings rolling pretty quick. And wow, the pizza from the kitchen smelled amazing! Unfortunately, we had already eaten so were only taking in a few beers while visiting the area. I loved that they had so many sour beers to try. The watermelon was probably my favorite! Not too sweet, not too sour. A great balance. It wasn't too noisy either, which is a hard thing to accomplish with such high ceilings and open spaces. Found this great brewery this afternoon after a walk around Riverfront Park. I ordered a flight of 6 beers, including a cider. Everything was delicious! My favorites are the Amber Ale, Goatmeal Stout, the Farmhouse Saison, and the cider. The even better part is they also have food! I tried the date & goat cheese pizza. So happy we now live right down the street from the Iron Goat. To be honest, our first few visits (pre-COVID) were not that inspiring. Beer was average (the more flagship/base beers), as was the flatbreads we tried. But once we discovered their actual pizzas, specialty beers, and now burritos...well, let's just say we'd probably eat here several times a week if money and my beer belly weren't limiting factors. They make it so easy too with a great online ordering system, curbside pickup, and beer + pizza/burrito specials. Pizza: Great thin crust that is almost like a pastry crust. Usually enough to feed us two. Love the 2nd Ave Combo pizza, especially the unique sausage they use. The IGB Supreme is a close second place. Burritos: Damn, these burritos are huge, delicious, and creative! Seriously, Banh Mi and Chicken Tikka Masala burritos?!?! And both are fantastic representations of those food styles. Beer: We're not huge fans of their simpler beers, but love their bigger/seasonal stuff like their imperial stouts, Octoberfest, and barleywine. Oh man, their Mammoth Barleywine. We get it nearly every time. Seriously one of the best I've had, and I've had many a barleywine. Several serving options depending on the beer including cans, bombers, and crowlers. Establishment: Cool digs that are a bit loud, but like the garage doors. Appreciate their curbside pickup during COVID. Service has always been super nice. When we came in February, it was raining but the large tent kept us dry. Now we are roadtripping from Seattle to Ohio and had to make a stop here for dinner on our first day. Now it's august and the patio is where it's at!! It's dog friendly... we saw several cute pups out there tonight. I came back specifically craving the bahn mi burrito. Never heard of this on a menu before but I had it in February and have thought about it several times since. We ordered that again tonight, the steak and eggs pizza special, and beet salad. Beet salad was wonderful. Good amount of beets, topped with arugula, goat cheese, candied nuts, blackberries. Perfect for summer. The bahn mi burrito... this is where the story gets interesting. My husband and I cut it in half and my half just so happened to have a long hair in there that I discovered after only one or two bites. We took it in and they were extremely apologetic. We were getting full so I did not ask for them to remake. I was just bummed bc this is my favorite burrito ever. Went on to eat the steak and egg pizza which was good, not great. Feel like it was missing something. Maybe some acid? But then... our server/bartender literally came back out and bought us a beer and brought a to-go box of the bahn mi. I mean... 6 out of 5 for service. Very rarely can you find a hair in your food and still feel like the place is deserving of 5 stars but this is one of them. Hey shit happens but it's all about how you react. And they went above and beyond. For drinks I had hazy strawberry tieton cider which was yummy. On the drier side for a fruity cider. Maybe a semi-dry. Husband ordered the pils. Highly recommend it here and definitely try their bahn mi burrito (or bahn mi pizza which I have not had but, has to be good if anything like the burrito). Holy crap, where were places like this when I lived in Spokane? All we had was Northern Lights Brewing (now "No-Li") and we were grateful! I know it's very cliche-bougie-foodie-"shared work space"-white-people of me to say this but: it's a really nice space. Seriously, the building is awesome. Converted brick building in a part of Spokane that doesn't have much of anything but car dealerships. It's also right next to the interstate so you can get in-and-out if you're on the road. I had the Head Butt IPA, both the Dry Fly barrel-aged and classic formulations, very good. I had a garbanzo pita..it was OK. I added chicken and there wasn't much in there. Side salad was great though. My dining/drinking mates had a sampling of the food here and it was tasty and surprisingly affordable. (maybe I'm just used to jacked Alaska prices though?) Next time I'm driving through Spoklahoma, I'll definitely be stopping back in! read more
