I had a southwest chicken salad, my husband had chicken Parmesan and my son had a kids pizza. My husband had an old fashioned with dinner which was well made and tasty. Food came out quickly and was good. I liked that they had a salad option. Portion sizes were huge. I love the interior of this place. It's so cool with so much to look at. I made a wish in the well they've set up. Shall see if it comes true. We were sat quickly and our server was friendly and quick. It wasn't busy that night as it was a Wednesday night. Finally made it to the steam plant for dinner. I've been intrigued by this old historical building for awhile. Everytime I drive down Lincoln I want to check it out. Parking was kind of tricky. We had to pay in a parking lot. Close but kinda confusing. I didn't like the walk after dark. The ambiance was awesome. After dinner we wandered around and even went in the stack! Wow. Love the history. The menu is limited but had good range of options. It was restaurant week but we did not order from the special samplings. I am watching glucose numbers so I ordered the soup dejour and the bbq chicken salad. Have to say the bbq chicken on that salad was incredible. Wish it had twice as much. The salad was "huge". The bacon was flavorful and nice and thick , that was the highlight. Other than that .,, it was just a pretty burger that was very anticlimactic. Not a ton of flavor! The pizza! Our biggest regret of the night wasn't that we parked so far away and we found out that we could have parked closer, but it was that we ordered this pizza. Bland with flavors that didn't pair well together. One bite into the first slice i was immediately surprised how lacking this pizza was. After 1 piece .. I said I would not easy anymore , but was so hungry I hoofed down a second piece. I couldn't even at anymore after the 2nd slice. Brought the majority home ... that just got thrown away. Nachos and artichoke dip was ordered as an appetizer for the favor. 1 bite of nachos with little flavor (although the side of cheese was a great touch).. there was 6 of us and everyone got a little taste because the quantity was very little. The Steam Plant Restaurant is really something not to need missed. It's not hard to find it in downtown Spokane, just look for the old brick building with tall smokestacks and there you are. I knew about this restaurant for a while but usually had other stops that took priority while visiting Spokane. But I had time to fit a visit in here and I am so glad I did! The atmosphere is really cool as it has an industrial and Steampunk vibe going on inside. There were at least three different levels of the restaurant. The bottom level was a bar, the middle level was where most people dined and it appeared the third level had games or an arcade. On the middle level you can look up one of the smokestacks from the bottom up which is very impressive and really cool! There are other parts to this old steam factory that got repurposed to be decorative too. The food I enjoyed. While on the road I usually like to eat on the lighter side and I found something to fit the bill nicely and that was the three tacos and chips on their menu. It totally hit the spot! The Steam Plant Restaurant also used to brew their own beer but currently they do not. The waitress told me that someday she hopes they will and sounds like it may be a company goal but for now it's guest tap beers from relatively local breweries . They also have a good mocktail menu and that us what I got in the end. I had the Higo Spritz Mocktail which was made up of Elderflower syrup, lemon juice, sparkling water and a lemon peel. We have been here multiple times throughout our 5 years of living here. It was never one of our favorite places. However, we decided to give it another shot tonight and it hit it out of the park. Always love seeing the stacks! The service was great. They were prompt with the food, accommodating, and kind. It wasn't anything over the top, but they did great. The food was slightly disappointing. I got the salmon, it was a large portion which is great, the salmon, rice, and green beans were cooked great, but it was really lacking in flavor. It was bland. This must have been the sentiment all around, because everyone at our table was wanting the salt passed around. Even the filet my husband got was bland. It was also really stringy and tough. Typically filet mignon is the most tender piece, so that was disappointing. It did not start well here. I made a reservation on Open Table for 7pm and arrived on time to have the hostess tell us there was a wait. I asked how long and she said it was hard to say but tried to get us to go to the bar downstairs instead. It wasn't even busy. We decided to wait and within 6 minutes we were seated. Why do you have reservations if you can't keep them? We then waited over 10 minutes to have anyone even approach us. Thankfully Andrew was a great server and attentive. The food was good, the chef made the burger exactly to order, and the Steam Plant is a really cool building to be in. Industrial and parts are like a museum. You can actually stand inside the smoke stack. Because of the initial service though, I would not be returning. Make sure you hire hostesses that know how to be cordial and give better explanations on why they can't keep a reservation. We sat in the bar which used to be warm and cozy back in the day. However, the set-up is now more like a coffee shop. It's so dark that we had to use our phones to light up the menu's. That was a minor inconvenience. What I really didn't like is the 4% 'Team Benefits' fee. I find it interesting that they are calling it a 'team' benefit when only those that are working 32 or more hours on a regular basis are even eligible to 'elect' benefits. Most can't afford them these days, so they don't enroll for it. This suggests to me that their customers are now on the hook to pay the for insurance for their management. And any time you open the 'fee' door it always widens and never closes. Another factor, this fee may make people tip less. In my opinion, this was a bad decision. read more

Came here with my husband and his family, we roamed around and explore the overall seating arrangement. They have a really interesting layout that's different than regular restaurants. Since it's former steam plant, we have a lot of things to see and they're all really fascinating! Most of us ordered burgers and I ordered mushroom pasta. We also ordered brisket fries as starters and a couple of cocktails: lemon drop and butter beer. Their brisket fries are so good, the meat are so tender and their seasonings are on point. Their burgers are so amazing that I think I'll order that when we come back there. Mushroom pasta was great too, it's vegetarian but creamy and really hit all the points. The downside of the mushroom pasta is the sundried tomatoes, which I think does not go along with the overall dish. The server was really nice and responsive as well. I have allergies and i am somewhat of a picky eater but this place offered several food choices. The customer service was excellent! The food was delicious. We ordered the flight of beers and we really enjoyed it. We ended our meal with dessert- 2 thumbs up! I am so glad to see that the place was busy and i hope it goes well. As a boilermaker, the coolest thing in the world was coming here for dinner and being able to enjoy fine dining inside of an old boiler. If you have a group call ahead and make reservations. Morgan did an amazing of helping square everything away for the outing. There are a couple different rooms to reserve, the pipe room is the best. Technically it should be called the tube room, but to uninitiated everything is a pipe. The food is fantastic. The salmon was perfect. Our server was fantastic. Glasses were never empty, checked in on us frequently, and definitely put up up with the shenanigans of a group of trades. It was a busy night downtown, but we were able to get a seat downstairs in the brew pub within 10 minutes. It's definitely dark and loud, but plenty of seating. The service was great - from ordering to having food and drinks delivered, everything went very quick and smooth. The blackberry apricot mules had fruit puree, which goes well with the spicy ginger beer and tart lime juice. The carnitas tacos came with a side of red white and blue tortilla chips and a very small cup of salsa, which didn't have much flavor. The tacos were ok, but the put a bunch of rice on the bottoms to make it look like there is a lot more meat. The meat itself had a really good flavor. The tomato basil soup had a good consistency but was overly salty. The toasted pepita Caesar salad was the best thing going. I came on Wednesday to specifically try their prime rib and I was looking forward all day to having this. This is a beautiful old building in Spokane that has been renovated and what a beautiful job they did! My co-workers and I came to dinner here and it was a treat. Our waitress was very kind and patient with us and helped explain the different dishes as it was our first time here. We ordered the gyro fries as an appetizer and they were a treat! The fries were nothing like I have ever had, crispy, light but almost fluffy and the meat was tender and the sauces were full of flavor. I had to stop myself to save room for my entree'! I ordered the ribeye with Gorgonzola cream sauce and it came with mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables. The vegetables were probably my favorite, the mashed potatoes were forgettable and the steak was very good, cooked just right. Recently dined here with family, our party had about 15 guests. We made reservations a few weeks prior and we were totally satisfied with the food, ambiance, and service. There are lots of eating areas, a bar downstairs, rooms that you can reserve, something for everyone! You can get growlers to go. One of the coolest restaurants I've ever eaten at! If you're an architecture or history buff, this is the place for you. It is a repurposed steam factory and many of the original features still exist. Make sure to walk around the entire building and see everything. The industrial ambiance would make this a great place for a party. The food was pretty good - we tried the Mac and Cheese and Mushroom pasta. Everything was good but nothing was extraordinary. The Steam Plant has a very cool industrial vibe and it was fun to have dinner in the building. We got great service from our waiter. The menu is lacking and many items on there are pricey. The burger I got exceeded my expectation as it was very juicy and delicious. Everything else was just okay. It won't be my go-to place if I want good food but it is a good place for taking pictures and tourists. Also, the lighting was very dim in there that my camera's night mode automatically turned on when I tried to take pictures. I like how they have a huge designated parking lot and covers 2 hours of parking fee. The brisket fries were okay, just not a lot of brisket and the fry itself was underwhelming. For the entrees, I got the prime rib French dip. It was good but not the best. I probably wouldn't order it again and I'd try something new. My partner got the chicken bacon Mac n cheese and he really liked it. A few of our friends got the carnitas tacos. Wowza, it was a huge portion compared to the salmon portion that someone else got. The salmon was a medium to small piece and then it came with like 2-3 tiny potatoes.
