We arrived at 6p to an average evening crowd and were quoted 30 minutes to get a table. It ended up taking 60 minutes. Further, we then waited about 15-20 minutes for a server to greet us. Multiple times we were told about issues with the kitchen and how everyone was having to slow service and tables because the kitchen couldn't handle it. We looked around and by the time we sat down after 7p half the restaurant was empty! We finally got (some) of our food around 8p which was a bizarre mix of appetizers and entrees that were very lukewarm. The presentation and concept is great and we really enjoyed the beers. I couldn't tell if it wanted to be a restaurant, a bar, or just a neighborhood hangout... it felt like a little bit of everything. It wasn't dirty, but it definitely looked like it could use a good deep cleaning. Also, the light directly above our table flickered on and off during our entire meal. It was incredibly distracting. Someone please call an electrician! Our server, Gabby, was pleasant enough, but the service didn't really stand out. We were there for almost two hours and never received a single water refill. Maybe it's because we only ordered one beer, but I still expected a little more attentiveness. Now for the food... I ordered the All American Burger. The highlight was definitely the beef and you could tell it was fresh and good quality. Unfortunately, the rest of the burger didn't come together for me. The toppings and flavors just didn't mesh the way I expected. The fries, however, were delicious! Overall, the meal was just... okay. I wouldn't say it was bad by any means, but it also wasn't memorable enough to have me rushing back.

A representative from both the Listermann and Urban Stead gave us some background on their businesses and then talked a little about each offering. We enjoyed all of the beers, but Chickow!, a Double Brown Ale with Hazelnut, was definitely our favorite. Hubby even bought some cans to bring home! Their restaurant is closed on Tuesdays, so perhaps we'll go back on another day of the week next time to check them out as well.

There is a small taproom with a much larger Oktoberfest styled hall (meaning large community tables). There are plugs here if you work remote, although I would NEVER do that. :P The beers are not the best I had in Cincy, but they are above the average in Cincy, so it is definitely above average. It is also a well-known, stable brewery. I understand Listermann recently sold the spot, so it will be interesting to see if there are changes going forward. The board is a bit heavy at this point, with quite a few brews over 10%. My feelings on the beers? The IPAs are decent, but they shine brightly with their stouts and pastry sours. The blackberry cobbler sour (12%) and Forbidden Imperial Stout got my top marks. Would love to return and see how the food is here, but spring break worked against me.
