My buddy, Doug has been talking about this place for quite sometime. He even helps out as a guest beer brewer from time to time. Anyways, we made the 45 minute trek from Fort Wayne to Hicksville, OH. and were suprised how this cool little place is "hidden" downtown. The menu was a lot more extensive than I would have guessed. Maybe, 12 or so beer choices and we went with two seperate flights. The deep friend mac-n-cheese was a good start to the evening. They were out of the Barramoundi I wanted to try and went with Haddock. My wife got the Bandolero Quessadilla. Doug went with shrimp tacos. Everything was served hot and tasted fresh. I grew up in Hicksville and never remember a place like this ever being there! The exterior, the interior, the unique woods and metals and brick that were used on the booths, ceilings, floors... the ambiance alone was great! Maybe it was just being with my sister again that made it so enjoyable, but our waitress was extremely prompt and enthusiastic and on top of things! And the food! My dish was composed of delicious Elk Meatloaf, a delicious Gumbo composed of Alligator, Shrimp and Andouille Sausage, and Duck! In one dish! Superb! Sister had that Can of Pulled Pork Nachos that shocked us with both it's delivery (the bottom dropped out!) and the amount (she took home TWO big to-go containers!)! I don't like beer at all but I didn't feel left out because there were many other delicious drinks to choose from, alcoholic and non-alcoholic-- my Amaretto Sour. Well, I didn't know that Hicksville served these anywhere. Delicious! No room for dessert, unfortunately, but maybe next year on my 19th annual visit. read more

Ever since two bandits brewing opened, my family has tried to make sure we give them our business. In the last several years we have gone at least once a year to try their different brews and their new menu offerings. The owner is a great guy and very friendly. The brewmaster is obviously very gifted and creative and always puts out a delicious menu of brews. Even when they are very busy the service is always fast and friendly. We appreciate having this restaurant available as part of our local dining experience being that this area is mostly rural. We were commenting this evening after our meal that it seems that we have not had an overwhelmingly positive experience with the food at any of the visits that we've had it Two Bandits. Honestly, I think I can narrow down the issue to two words - salt and pepper. Granted, a more flavorful variety of herbs and spices would be nice, but some salt and pepper on the meats and in the breading before cooking would unlock the natural flavors of the meats so beautifully. Putting these basic condiments on AFTER the cooking process offers nothing to the final product but a bandaid. Drowning them in sauces doesn't help either. I know that exotic meats are kind of their thing but not one of the times we have tried them were they tender, juicy or full of flavor. Overwhelmingly the description was chewing on shoe leather or rubber. We keep trying. We stay away long enough to forget the food has little flavor in the hopes that things will change. Unfortunately, politely nodding when they ask if everything is ok teaches them nothing and holds little hope of improvement of their food menu in the future. I just remember Robert Irvine telling a stubborn restauranteur that people won't complain or even give constructive criticism. Frankly, we are just hungry and wanna get out of there. People just won't come back. I don't want this to happen to Two Bandits. read more

We had such a great experience here! The staff and customer service were out of this world. We were visiting from out of town and they were so welcoming. The beer is amazing, we tried many of their brews but my favorite was the Bookem Bob-o coconut chocolate porter. The menu has your typical pub fare but also has wild game! Meatballs made from kangaroo, elk, crocodile!! We kept it simple and tried the pretzels and the boneless wings. Both were very good. We even got to meet one of the owners, Mark. He was so nice! We drove over to Hicksville as we heard good things about this place. We were greeted by Mark who introduced himself as "one of the two bandits". He alone gave off positive vibes that I knew it would be a good experience before entering. It's a nice place inside. The menu was pretty extensive but could perhaps use some more alternative items incase a non-meat eating person would tag along. (Maybe offer a beyond burger or veggie burger?) We enjoyed our food and our server was on top of it and helpful in selecting drinks. Mark checked back on us as we were finishing. I felt kind of bad bringing up that two of the three cheese sticks were cheeseless. He took care of that and two fresh ones were delivered quickly. We can't wait to go read more

Sometimes you run into a brewpub that serves things like antelope, elk and kangaroo and you err on the side of caution and order the Philly! Regardless,, there are no bad choices here. 3 or 4 well balanced IPAs and enough other variety to make thiS a great choice in the middle of nowhere. The food variety is something you'd experience in a major city. The beers strongly compete with anything you might find elsewhere. What sets this place apart is the hospitality of the owner. The new test batch of the raspberry wheat beer is where it's at!! If you have ever been to Alaska and had Moose's Tooth raspberry wheat. Look no further. I'd dare say this is better. Also having the owner's meet you at the door is awesome! Definitely a good place to go in Northwest Ohio and worth the drive for good food and beer. read more

We love this place usually but tonight was sooo strange. After taking our drink orders we noticed no menus rather paper menu. When we questioned waitress she explained only choices were German food tonight and they were out of 3 sides leaving sauerkraut as the ONLY side. We never would have stayed and ordered drinks had they just told us before seating us. After determining there just wasn't anything that sounded good we decided to leave. The waitress was very apologetic then suggested the beer tent out back as there was 1 food option . As we stand up to leave I see the table next to us getting their pork schnitzel with french fries. Apparently only certain customers get offered fries. It's great to have a German fest day just tell people when they come in. Will we go back, most likely as we love their regular menu. We love trying Brew pubs all over the country (and other countries) and thought we'd give 2 Bandits a try. We didn't eat, so I can only critique the beer. (Although it looked like a very interesting menu and not your basic boring bar fare). We ordered a flight and thought all were tasty and interesting. I had a pint of the 007 IPA (a favorite at our table), someone else in our group ordered the Woody. Mark, the co-owner came by to chat and it was very apparent how passionate he was about the place and wanted everyone to have a great experience. Brought us over a sample that we hadn't tried and it was surprisingly good (sometimes a description of a beer does not translate to how good it really is). Great ambiance here. Nice clean industrial feel with a biker and barley theme. Great little brew pub. Next time we are in town we will eat there as well. Try it! read more

This place left me baffled. Our waiter wasn't bad at all it was everything else. Took forever to get our food which was well past closing time which is 9PM. I order the Philly steak which wasn't even a Philly steak at all. The fact they have the audacity to call this a Philly steak is not acceptable. Big cuts of steak which is fine but lacked serious flavor. It was placed onto a hollowed out ciabatta roll which had diced red pepper and onions in it which again had no flavor. Stay away from this item on the menu. Also order fired pickles which were not even cooked and still could taste the batter. Overall a bad food experience would not recommend this place for dining. Or even drinking beer, which is crazy for a brewery. They should at least have domestics and things in draft because not everyone is into craft beers. I hate giving a new business a less than stellar review, but some things need to change. First of all, the price point needs a reality check. The appetizer size "dinners" average $9-12. Which doesn't seem crazy until you see the portion sizes. My husband got the Duck sandwich, I got the roast beef and peach flatbread and kids shared a Mac n cheese with pulled pork on top. While all flavors were decent, we were all left hungry. My flatbread was tasty with a nice bourbon sauce, but the peaches were canned diced peaches!! My husband's duck sandwich was a ground duck patty. He said it was good but thought it was going to be a nice slice of duck. His meal actually cam with fries. The kids said their pulled pork mac n cheese was good, but personally thought they could have been much more generous with the pork. Ladtly, it was $3 for root beer! Now for the good: The beer was great! Flights were $8 and you could choose from guest or house taps! We enjoyed ALL our beers. My favorite was the Two Bandits Raspberry wheat. Normally I am a Stout girl. The service was good! The owner came around to each table and was very hospitable. Atmosphere was cool and bathrooms were decked out in Wonder woman and Super man comics according to gender. Nice fun touch! There is alot going for this business, but adjustments to food and cost need to considered. A work in progress, but tons of potential. read more

First time here, and very impressed! We came at about 2pm, so it wasn't busy, but we still appreciated the prompt service. We tried a flight of beer and loved all of them! The black shadow CMS was my favorite and my fiancé loved the Killer Bee. We had the poutine as an appetizer. It is to die for!! The gravy was delicious. I normally don't like pulled pork, but it was so good!! I had the duck sandwich-wow! I am so glad I ordered it. The flavors complimented each other so well, and can't forget to mention that the side of fries that come with it are wonderful! My fiancé had the kangaroo burger. I didn't enjoy it as much as mine-specifically the meat (that's just my personal preference) but loved the tomato jam that was on it. Totally going to google how to make something similar to that jam!! One of the "bandits" (owner) introduced himself to us. He was so incredibly personable and told us to let him know if we need anything. It's not often that the owner or even a manager comes over to chat, so it was a great experience. The staff is super friendly! Last but not least, their playlist rocks!!!! We were really enjoying the music. The atmosphere and interior of this place is top notch. Stopped here to meet friends for a drink before going to the nearby theatre. It was a Friday night and the place was busy. Granted it's not a very large place so it probably fills up quickly. The bar had chairs around it and that's where we chose to sit. We also took that last two spots. The staff was inconsistent with their niceties and ignore tactics. Meaning when we first walked in a nice gentleman said hello to us and was happy we'd stop by. The waitress behind the bar however could not have been more rude. It took her quite a long time to greet us. She didn't offer to tell us about their history etc when we stated we've never been. When we went to order she wasn't wanting to answer our questions about what we'd eat or drink. We ended up ordering a flight of beers and some food entrees. The pulled pork over their Mac and cheese was spicy and unable for me to eat. The fries were good tho and the pretzels sticks were the same anywhere else. The beer flight however was nothing really to speak off. Their beer is good but neither one of us said it was good enough to order an entire glass of it. The bathrooms are fun as they are decorated in comic Themes. It was worth trying out a new local business while we were in town. I have been here several times now and I can honestly say it's one of the best microbreweries I have ever been to. Every beer I have tried has been smooth and tasty. All of the food is very very good as well. Only downside at all, which speaks to how good it is, is that the place is always super busy and standing room only. On a Friday or Saturday when they have live music it is an hour or more wait to get a table. read more

I've been here a few times and like this place. The food is always good and they have a nice variety of beer on tap. This place is very popular! You will have to wait a little while for a table. I did have one issue with my most recent time here. It took 45 minutes to get our food. That is the reason for taking off a star.
