Welcome to today's video everyone. Iron Skillet is a place I have not been to since probably the early to mid 90's when they offered a buffet with 24-hour service. They are putting out their version of a smash burger, I got the American Standard which has lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, and pickles. This came with a side of crinkle cut fries. My server was professional, explained that at the time I was there they did offer both breakfast and lunch with at that time with the exception of soup. My fries were hot, tasted good with a little dash of salt. My burger was nice and juicy; the tomato was a thick cut reminding me of the ones that come out of my sister's garden. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The location is off the beaten path so if you're not looking it may be missed, it is located inside the Petro Truck Stop in Dupont.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The prices look average, a definite recommend. We stopped here for breakfast. The sign said seat yourself so we found an available booth. Our server brought us menus and took our drink order. The coffee was fresh. Our food came out hot. Our server was attentive. Everything was delicious. The only complaint was my scrambled eggs. I don't know when people stopped making scrambled eggs. Folded eggs are not scrambled eggs. The best things here are the breakfasts, I've been trucking for a long time. I've had there lunch and dinners there okay 5-10. The service is okay really depends on who your server is, I've definitely had worse. The food here was good ordered my regular which was the breakfast pancakes with bacon. I don't know why but I didn't like the pancakes not sure if it's because it's not what I'm use to or maybe it's cooked differently. The service was average so nothing to talk about. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Solid breakfast diner although in an out-of-the-way location.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Large omelettes with lots of fillings, perfectly cooked hashbrowns that were actually seasoned and crispy, delicious toast with an appropriate amount of butter. The service was quick and efficient. My coffee came with my own carafe for refills - a nice touch that not many diners do. This was superior to any Denny's or Perkins you find for the same price. read more

I tried to order a burger and all burgers are served with fries the girl waitress said $5 and change extra if you want to add fries so I walked out and didn't even order. Not my first time eating at iron skillet but very disappointing and will never give them business again. read more

To be honest, this has to be the worst place I've ever eaten. I at times enjoy scrambled eggs and corned beef hash. The biscuit that came with my meal smelled like road kill t h at had been in 90' heat for 3 days. When I told the waitress, she looked at me dead in my eyes and said, "what you want me to do bring you some toast or somethin"? I couldn't believe the nasty look i got. I'd rather starve than EVER eat here again. When I got to the parking lot, I threw up my entire meal. This dump should be shut down. What a stain on the Iron Skillet name. read more

Was in the area down some repairs. It was technically the only restaurant near my hotel. I went there multiple times that week. Food was good, a very large menu, good prices, really good breakfast. I tried the chicken fried steak, not that good. I stuck to breakfast after that. Great waitresses. read more

The resturant has the best view of PA! Today is the 4th of July and we stopped for lunch 2pm. Bf had soup n salad bar. I had Fettuchini Primivera. Hey... it wasn't that bad!! It was actually very tasty!! First I though mmm ok they grilled some vegis and threw them on top. But after investigating the underneath of my dish voila... more vegis!! And she brought me out fresh refrigerated parm!! I could only eat 1/3 of it cause it came with soup and salad too! Holy crap. No wonder we all overweight!! Lol. I had a small salad but no soup. First, I need to give a massive shoutout to my waitress Chrissie. Shes absolute sweetheart and she really made the overall experience the 5/5 stars. The food was good, I ordered the grilled pork chops with 2 sides of fries and a water to be a healthy lol. The pork chops first came out as still bleeding and I asked her if she thought they looked normal and offered to have them cook it for couple extra minutes and they perfect. She checked in on me about every 10 minutes to make sure the food was to my liking and to make sure if I needed more water. Chrissie if you ever get the chance to see this please know you made my very sad day into a happy and laughing one, you're positivity is very infectious and you truly made me happy today. And again Happay Birthday and I'm glad I was able to be your customer, and please spend the birthday gift responsibly lol. I love this place. Since it is a truck stop/restaurant catering to truckers they have a lot of great services for travelers. My wife and I love to eat at the buffet here especially on Holidays like Thanksgiving. Very nice people work there from my experience. The buffet is best when it's busy so that that the food trays are replaced often and are fresh. Might not be as good during off hours. read more

I'm with you Pixie. We've been going to Petros for Thanksgiving for years. Food is great. The line moves fast even though there's a ton of people. Service can't be beat. Price is right. No cooking, no clean up. I'm sure there's not a single restaurant in town with this variety. Best part- no reservations; at some point in the day we just decide, 'ok, we're hungry, let's go'. Food us excellent but the service is the worst if you are a female alone. You will sit all day and starve if you want to order off the menu. Trust me get the buffet ladies. The waitresses will ignore you even after you chase one down and ask for a drink. Get a pitcher. Don't worry about the bill she WILL bring you that even before you take your first bite. This restaurant was great I loved the food. The staff were very nice, organized, and got my food out quickly. I ordered the chicken Parmesan and it was amazing I love how the food is served on skillets it adds a uniqueness to it. The desert was just as amazing and I had plenty of leftovers, the portion size is enough to feed two to three people much less one. I'm a truck driver and I got to iron skillets all the time for breakfast and dinner mostly. My service was good at this restaraunt, I ate here twice. This particular iron skillet is a bit different from the others I've visited. They have a cook that makes their cakes from scratch and the two I've tried are the double chocolate and peanut butter cake and the butterscotch cake. read more

One of the worst experiences ever. Had to send food back TWICE!! Disgusting!! So embarrassing having to do that but we are not wasting our hard earned money for garbage. This is my second time eating at an Iron Skillet and I got the buffet. Most of the food was really good, especially the zucchini and squash and the stuffed broiled whitefish. The salad was really fresh and I loved how all of the vegetables were diced up instead of left whole. I got what I thought was a piece of fried catfish, it looked that way from the breading they used, but it was actually a fried pork chop. Not bad, but I'm not a huge fried pork chop person. The soups looked like mostly broth and vegetables, so I didn't bother to try them. Service was crappy, but one of the waitresses told us that our waitress had to leave because of an emergency, but hey, stuff happens. The dishwashers were also running behind with keeping plates stocked on the buffet and a few of them weren't washed very well. read more

It was a bad experience with the buffet. You have a very small selection of food, everything i looked at was unappetizing because it looked like all of it was sitting for a very long period of time. My mom convinced me to try something because we were both starving and when i bit into the chicken it still had blood in it. When we told them about it they proceeded to say there seasoning turns the chicken pink but that does not explain why the 2 pieces of chicken i had were bloody. We also had to pay full price for the buffet. The people were great its just the food that was horrendous and that we had to pay full price after the experience we had. I would advise everyone to check their food before biting into it. read more

I have been to many different iron skillets around the US. This one was particularly disappointing. The buffet was the smallest of any I have been to. Not much of a selection of you ask me. I went for for breakfast, they had a good variety of cereals but no milk to go with them. Our waitress acted a bit bothered that I requested a drink. She had previously brought water but didn't ever ask what I wanted to drink. I have a rule that if a waitress or waiter doesn't come back at least twice to check up on us she doesn't earn her tip. This waitress don't come back even once. So sadly to say she didn't get a tip. I wasn't too impressed. read more

Truck stop restaurant that caters to the the drivers. I arrived between lunch and dinner and perhaps it was not the best time to experience the Iron Skillet buffet. It didn't look "fresh" like, say a Golden Corral. You could tell the buffet had been there for a while... some items were almost gone, some items just looked as if they were sitting there for a while. My guess is I got there just before the re-stocking for dinner time. At that point, I should have ordered off the menu, but I wanted to get back on the road as quickly as possible so i stuck with the buffet and went with some soup and a few items that looked fresher than others. The bright side to the whole experience was my waitress. She was friendly and prompt with my coffee and soft drink and even gave me a coffee to go and next time, I'll order off the menu read more

THANKSGIVING BUFFET 2013...It's hard to find home cooking these days. This diner setting place is it for $14 bucks! Real mashed potatoes, real turkey cut before your eyes, stuffed pork roast and stuffed founder, to name only a few, this is it! A wonderful spread. If you don't want to cook until the cows come home but want a hefty variety.....this comes highly recommended. Plenty of seating. Its a 24-hour place but the buffet was from 11:30 A.M. to 10:00 P.M.
