I believe that is completely illegal, I'm surprised someone doesn't sue her for it. The owner is stepping over dollars to pick up pennies. And losing long-term members because of it. I was kicked out of the FB members page on May 15th even though I was paid until the 31st. So I could no longer see what the workouts were. I asked the owner why, and she just said, " That's what's best for now, I'll send you over the workouts in an email." I never once received an email with the workouts. The coaches can be unprofessional at times, starting class late just to "wait on members" who are consistently late to class, making the class go over in time. I used to love this gym, but things have gone down hill the last few months sadly.

My daughter loves the tanning beds and I like going with a buddy, so I ended up canceling my membership, as I wasn't as self-motivated. The staff here are kind, I asked about some people filming as it made me uncomfortable, and the staff were great in handling customer complaints. There's a lot of TV screens and cardio equipment, but I'm a swimmer and there's not a pool here. I never had to ever wait for a cardio equipment to open up, it was available every time I'd visited. There's ample weights, but mostly machines. Some dumbbells, and benches, I did have to take turns during busy times with that, but it wasn't a big deal. Lots of mirrors and cleaning spray/paper towels. My lower rating is I didn't feel any kind of connection here. No classes to help motivate me, or personal greetings upon check-in, so my overall experience was meh. And I didn't walk away feeling excited. In fact, I stopped going. For months I'd paid without going once! And for me, I want a body transformation or a great experience by joining a gym. The best thing about this gym is the cost.

Classes: I haven't had any issues signing up for classes if you register when the class opens, or dropping in for classes. It's been hit or miss based entirely on instructor (in my opinion), so if you find someone you like, try to keep going to that class. Y staff is friendly and helpful, their membership system is pretty slow so just a warning: don't go with member questions if you can help it - it can take forever. Childcare: my daughter likes the child watch, it's got great hours Monday - Thursday (mornings and evenings), then limited hours Fri/sat (mornings). In general the Y is clean and there is space for everyone, though depending on when you go you might need to modify the exact thing you're doing if people are already using your machine or weights etc. I don't usually have an issue and feel like this location is better than other similar gyms in my experience. I'm looking forward to the improvements when they're complete.

They are also located next to Cowan Stadium for those who prefer to do their cardio on a track. Nice staff and clean for the most part, but the weights room is poorly lighted and their sauna rooms are always under construction, well at least that's the case for the women's one. The women's locker rooms also smell but is bearable if you don't stay long, which is why I refuse to ever shower there and use the bathrooms located by the treadmills. A few of their treadmills are inoperable but there's plenty of cardio machines for those who wanna lose their gains, I mean get a good sweat! (Just joking, running is good for the body). Just don't forget to bring your Military ID when going to this gym to work out or have someone sign you in with a guest pass if you're a civilian.
