I saw a posting of a cat on there facebook group and was wanting a a companion for myself and my…read morehusband as well as a buddy to my cats.i filled out the application had 2 phone interviews and was approved for adoption. We drove to the fosters home the cat was not as was described in her posting very anxious on gabapentin that was having no effect at calming the cat. the representative showed up with the information on the cat I was still wanting to adopt the cat she was curious and let me pet her. when we paid the adoption fee the foster and the rescue representative tried to load her in our carrier the cat became more anxious so the rescue recommended more gabapentinand the representative suggested calling an expert on loading up isis.We all heard the suggestions given which were isolated cat in a room, try using a towel, block off anywhere cat can hide.Therepresentative left and we were with the foster who finally listen after we kept trying to use a towel chasing the cat and she got isolated in the laundry room behind the washing machine.I moved the front loader washing machine and squeezed behind it to flush issis out,she jumped out when I got behind the machine the foster got her in the carrier closed it.And we were all happy, until the foster opened up the carrier to pet the cat one last time and let the cat out . i thought all is good cats in the carrier i can use the bathroom.i heard oh no I just wanted to pet her in the other room the foster saying i let your cat out. And this foster needed to leave the next day on a long trip.this was my day off where my husband and I spent 3 1/2 hours trying to get a cat in a carrier that had been on a good dose of gabapentin and was anxious and growling. My husband and I were so frustrated and we both said we are done.We cant adopt a cat that is not what was described as making progress in her foster home the cat was drugged into being calm and acted like she was immune to the medication the way the cat was jumping around the house. this cat was not worked with for anxiety just drugged. i am hoping I get a refund of my adoption fee that was paid by this rescue. this foster maybe good with fostering kittens but not with anxiety cats. All my years of working with anxious cats, dogs, rodents and I've never used drugs to help with trauma. I've worked with the animal. And I really wanted to give issis a loving home.Unfoetunately that was ruined by letting the cat out,

These folks understand cats and are concerned with the long term well-being of their kitties…read more Because cats are social animals, and especially when young need company and interaction, they won't adopt out solo kittens that will be left alone all day. And they won't adopt out to irresponsible people who won't educate themselves about what kittens and cats need. Highly recommend!
