Why didn't I know about this before. They were a lifesaving. The driver insisted that I didn't help.

Important Review for everyone: DO NOT, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DONATE TO THE VVA (Vietnam Veterans Association). I was scheduled for pickup of 4 bags of clothing last Friday, given a time window just for them to never show up. I called at least 3 times throughout the day, even after my time window had past only to be told "Oh they're still coming. They have until 6pm". Well my last call was at 5:55pm and was given the usual excuses of unexpected things may occur at anytime causing a delay in their schedule. They're still coming, they only have 5 stops in front of you. How crazy to be told that same exact thing 45 mins later. They last minute sent an email stating my pickup had been rescheduled to 4 days later. I had to drag the bags back inside then back outside on the rescheduled date. Needless to say, the same exact thing occurred with pretty much the same excuses. All in all, very unprofessional, lack of a scheduling service that has proven to work, and last but not least, very poor customer service. If you want to avoid this hassle, I suggest you go somewhere else to donate. I'm now using Grace Centers of Hope which provides clothing to shelters for women and children which I'm happier about. read more

They don't show up when they say they will. Even when they finally show up, they pick and choose what they want. Even though every item donated is legit, the office is extremely rude. When you call and say hey, you didn't show app for the pickup to go oh well, did you try calling someone else? I mean their arrogant cocky, lazy, rude people never do business with these people. Awful! The first time I used this company I was standing outside with the garage door open. The driver drove right past me than a minute later I got a call from the company saying that the driver couldn't find me. I literally explained to dispatch that I was standing outside the second time I got an email saying they would be here from 8:45 to 11:45 AM. I got a call at 8:02 that the driver had been at the gate, which is a lie because there is no gate and that he was already on his way. Dispatch does not know what they're doing in. The drivers are lazy. Do not use this company. There are better ones out there. read more

This organization is a scam! Scam! SCAM!!! They will reschedule your appointment, cancel your appointment last minute. Lie and sat they were outside and change your address in the system just not to pick anything up! The customer service is a sham and they'll give you the run around nonstop. I have been using Pickup Please occasionally. I left a few items outside in a nice little pile but two drivers that came did not pick them up because the items were not boxed. That was one thing. When I went outside to get their attention they drove off as if they didn't see me. I found that to be very rude. Two men and they couldn't take the time to box them or give me a warning rather than just leave the items outside. They will NEVER have to worry about my leaving a donation again. I believe they just didn't want to work. I've seen it where one man carried items that was more than what I left today. The excuse was poor in my opinion. I would not recommend using them. I'll bring them to goodwill. I'm sure they will make use of the items read more

I am so sad to say my experience with Pickup please was VERY bad! It is absolutely disgusting that their employees are so "sub par" especially because this organization represents our bravest citizens, Vietnam Veterans. They showed up to pick up 5 boxes and 6 dining room chairs. Boxes were loaded on truck - then driver hands me his phone, and a customer representative named "Liz" tells me they won't accept the chairs. I ask why. She nastiley says" we won't take them". I explain they are solid cherry wood very expensive chairs and anyone, especially those in need, would be glad to have them. I ask the truck driver to attest that they are in good shape- he does so Liz tells him he can take 2 of the chairs. I continue to press the point with Liz and she then says, "if you don't like it I can have the driver unload all the other items and leave". I say, "are you threatening me to refuse the other items"? This kind of treatment of customers that are just trying to help those in need, especially our brave veterans, IS UNACCEPTABLE. Liz should be fired, or at a mimum retrained in customer service. I will never use this charity again. I registered an official complaint and requested a call back but have never been contacted. I not only will never use Pickup Please again, I will also stop making financial donations to them also. I'm wondering if this organization is legit. Maybe I'll contact my state representation and request they be investigated. Such a shame they hire such inept people to represent their company. read more

I had a very good experience With this company. They were pleasant and courteous on the phone and the young men who picked up my boxes were very respectful and careful. I was emailed first thing in the morning with a window for arrival, and when they had an issue finding my place, the office called for directions. i will definitely use them again. read more

I've been using pickupplease for several years. Theyre one of the few places that still takes toys. As my child grows ive donated outgrown toys and clothes as well as other household items. Everything donated needs to be in good shape. I leave out 5 or 6 large trash bags each time and they always arrive as promised and pick them up, even in the rain. Never missed a pick up and they always are respectful of property. The donations are sold and the money goes to veterans. I will continue to use them. read more

I suppose I find myself lucky after reading all the other reviews about pickup place. I have never had a bad experience with them. Been using them off and on for the last few years and the convenience of having somebody come and pick up large amount of items is really helpful for me. All of my scheduled pickups are done online and always within the time frame they give me. read more

Horrible people - use someone else. I cleaned out my mothers apartment when she died and had them come to pick up a big pile of donations. Everything was easily liftable with one hand. Nothing broken, some things still sealed, nicely boxed or bagged. Driver took about half of it. I called the 800 number and the genius that answered said that it wasn't clearly marked what was for pickup. Hmmm. You went through the pile and took about half of it. How did you do that if you didn't know what was supposed to be picked up. Will never use again. Wouldn't surprise me if they only give pennies on the dollar of what they sell to charity. read more

What a "SCAM" organization, in my opinion. I was under the impression from their web site that they donated all items to the needs of people in need unlike other organizations that filter the majority of items to the dump. We unfortunately left an Apple AirTag, by mistake, in a perfectly good suitcase and now that suitcase is in the Oregon City Dump. We've donated thousands of dollars of items to them. We now wonder where they are or what they have been used for. Shame on them. read more

They're not just shady. The website shows a VA address but the UPS airbill says NJ. I have been trying for months just to get a receipt but I've been ignored via phone, email, and website contact form. Research better than I did before sending your belongings to what you believe is a charitable organization when it's just a sham. read more

I have been using this organization for 16 months and did not have any issues u til recently. I scheduled a pick up that was missed. When I called to inquire about it, the representative told me that the drive p put in the system that they picked up 1 bag from house and had the time noted. I advised that I did not have a bag, I had a box and I described the box and told the rep that it was still on my porch. he rescheduled for the the next day. Received and email of the window of arrival. However in camera I saw a young lady on my porch picking up my box and I figured it was pick up please. 4 hours later I received an email that I was the next stop and then immediately 2 men were knocking at my door from pick up please. Do note that only one guy always shows up to remove my box or boxes with a dolly so I was puzzled why 2 men approached my door without a dolly and my pick up in the system was 1 to 3 boxes, my usual amount. They just looked at me when I opened the door and I said it was already picked up by a lady and I have her on camera. They said nothing and handed me my tax slip for a write off. I called it in and the rep said they put it in the system saying that I cancelled the pick up . So the missed pick up was in the system as a pick up and the re scheduled pick up was in the system as a cancellation. And after all of my pickups a lady decides that come on my porch twice speaking spanish on the phone with someone so I could not understand the exchange. Really seems fishy and um I won't be using them again. read more

We had bags clearly labeled for pickup and they cleaned out my front porch taking everything that was not labeled. Ridiculous service - I will NEVER NEVER NEVER USE THIS SCAM of a company again. Shady organization! They claim to 'attempt to contact you' but this is a LIE! I don't know if they treat the drivers bad, but my belief is these guys are lazy as all get out, they will find ANY excuse to NOT pick up your items, even if they are clearly marked and put exactly as required. It's pathetic, and a waste of everyone's time! If you take the time to walk up to somone's door to strategically place a placard on there, how about ringing the door bell and use your big boy words and ASK if you don't know!! I arrange for a Tuesday pick up at Moms the week of Thanksgiving. Mom had two big boxes of household items that were too heavy for her to lift so I put them out on the front porch. Mom took out her exercycle and decided to donate that as well. When the gentleman came my door the ring doorbell captured him picking up both boxes at one time carrying them to the truck. He then returned and laid a receipt and a note on my front porch. The note said that the exercycle bike was too heavy for one man. Now this guy looked like he was in his 30s she is a 68 female with arthritis in both knees and I carried it out. The website does show that it will except exercise equipment. I could understand if he had attempted to lift the article but he did not even try. read more
