While LA does have more to offer, I never felt comfortable working out there. So many lunk heads and judgey stares. From the minute I walked in, I knew it would be a completely different experience. Sean, the assistant manager, knows my name and always smiles and says hello. This goes a long way in my book. At the big box gyms, you're just a face in a million. I always come on my lunch hour to lift and never have issues getting to any piece of equipment. The have a great weight room with a large selection of machines and free weights. The equipment is older and not shiny and new, but it's all functional and safe, so who cares? The cardio selection is decent, lots of treadmills, several ellipticals, lots of bikes and a few stair masters. I can't speak to their classes, I've never taken any. The sauna is nice and hot as hell. Locker rooms are older, but again, functional. All around, this is a highly recommended facility. Speaking as a woman that frequently works out alone, I very much enjoy my time at CTF and look forward to working out now more than ever.

The nice thing about Anytime Fitness is that members have 24 hour access 7 days a week, hence ANYTIME. Members can also use any of the Anytime locations with their key card. So there's no excuse not to work out when you travel. This location, like all the locations has a mix of cardio machines, weigh equipment and dedicated area and an area to do mat exercises. They have a small amount of cubby's/lockers to put you stuff each time you visit. They also have a couple of unisex showers (but do not supply towels.) This location gets a little crowded with a lot of people working out. The machines are pretty close together and it gets pretty loud when all the cardio machines are going. I also think the gym is a little dark, with black ceilings, dark walls and cramped quarters. The people (staff and clients) are super friendly. Everyone is supportive. They do not offer classes which I think is unfortunate. Anytime has an app for members and it gives you tips and will help set goals if you want.
