Beautifully put together! From the aesthetics to the coffee, this coffee shop is doing it right! It was recommended to me by a few friends, and it didn't disappoint. When you walk in, you immediately notice the accents and unique décor. Then comes the fun part--trying to decide where to sit so you can take it all in. Now, onto the coffee. If you enjoy good coffee, this place has it. Great quality and excellent flavor. I tried a cappuccino and loved that it was made with the right proportions and right technique. They definitely know their coffee! I couldn't help but notice that the barista added latte art to everyone's drinks, which was a nice touch. This is a great spot to study or meet up with friends. Grand piano in the middle of the shop adds a cool aesthetic. For a packed coffee shop on a Saturday morning staff was very efficient in working through the line. There is plenty of seating but can be crowded at peak times. Dark chocolate peppermint cookie latte was delicious but definitely overpriced. Came here around 7am to meet with a friend! It is a very clean and tastefully decorated place! We were greeted with friendly staff who patiently helped us decide what to order! The coffee was prepared quickly but the Bacon, egg & cheese came a little bit later! It was hot and fresh! Nothing too dramatic but tasty for sure! I hope to come back again someday soon! read more

As many have said already the aesthetic in here is very cool. Seems like a great spot to come have a coffee with friends and the staff were very friendly while I was here. As for the coffee though the prices were extremely steep compared to every other coffee shop in the area and I would say the taste was maybe middle of the pack which is why I have to lower my rating. If you're just going for the atmosphere and don't mind paying for it absolutely come here. If you're looking for a better coffee and at a cheaper price I would say take a look at some of the other Lynchburg options. read more

This was genuinely really good coffee. The espresso was nice and smooth, and the milk was noticeably creamier (without being too heavy). I didn't have any expectations other than an afternoon pick me up on our cross country journey-- but man I'm gonna think about this coffee for a while. read more

This one just could not match the quality of the Ironclad in Richmond I've been to (and loved it so much). We got there around 11 am and the croissant was already staled. When I mentioned it to the cashier and just want a reheat, she basically said "we cannot do it" without apologizing or sorting out other solutions. I should have followed other's reviews on lacking service and overpriced and then decided not to go. They are really damaging the reputation of the Richmond Ironclad. Will not go again. read more

So sad - was getting ready to drive back to D.C so didn't have time to linger in this amazingly adorable and chill coffee shop! It had this great background music playing and tons of great spaces to sit and work or talk. Coffee was super and the smell of deliciousness hit you when you walked in the door. While this place is very cute, you can tell it's all surface level. They bought into a certain look, but it's a little cheap when you look closely. The food and drinks were more "fine" than good. I probably won't go back and would check out other places in town. read more

I visited on a weekday right after they opened at 7. The staff were friendly and because I was the only customer the service was very fast. This location I believe is the only coffee shop in the Lynchburg area that offers a yama drip brewed coffee. In general their prices are on the higher end but the quality is good. I recommend the yama drip with chantilly cream. The ambience is really unique, similar to their Richmond VA location. The shop however is not located in the best area. read more

Very attractive setting inside, cool jazz playing, clean, nice furnishings. All the pastry choices were very high calorie. I wanted something simple. They had egg and cheese on a bread roll. I asked if I could just have bread roll toasted. No, they are made up early in the morning. Settled on a croissant. Asked for butter. "They only have that in the back." " well, couldn't you just go back there and get me a pat?" (Kitchen is open so you can literally turn around and talk to the chef.) "we can't do that." Manager walks by. I ask him. He says of course, goes and chops off a little butter and puts it on a plate for me. This is what's known as CUSTOMER SERVICE. Ridiculous. It was expensive, too. One coffee, croissant, and a scone $15. Coffee not strong enough for my tastes, but I'm from New Orleans. The pastries were good. read more

Really disappointed when I went today. It was my second time ever there and the first time was great, however this time was awful. 1. The barista was very cold with me and my two young kids, not a smile in sight. 2. They advertise "tiny Tuesday" at 2pm as something for kids, with free muffins, a "Baby-ccino" and a kids craft. I have been so excited to take my kids to this and finally got around to it only to show up and hear that they were out of muffins, and had only ONE craft bag. I have two kids. So I just said forget it and got their babyccino, but my daughter was disappointed that there was no muffin or craft. 3. The couch we sat at closest to the baristas was absolutely filthy. The carpet had sooo much gunk on it, it looked like it had never been vacuumed before and the little table was just covered in coffee stains from the day. Obviously nobody goes around to wipe down tables during the day. I'm not usually one to leave reviews but this was just too much for me. Probably won't be coming back any time soon. read more

IRONCLAD is the newest coffee offering in town. Located on Candler's Mountain in the Ollie's Plaza, it is an inviting atmosphere with seating and tables meant to give that 90s coffee shop feel. I ordered a simple Latte with Peppermint with an orange cranberry gluten free scope. The coffee was full bodied with a richness to the roast. Not overly burnt like some major shops. The foam was rich and could be tasted throughout and the peppermint was just enough of a hint to not overpower the taste. This latte lacked the super sweetness and overly artificial taste of many shops. Very good! The scone was crusty on the outside, while soft inside. It had an abundance of cranberry and orange flavor with a nice glaze to finish it off. And! It's gluten free. I highly recommend IRONCLAD Coffee Roasters for a relaxing coffee experience. The service was great! Very pleasant and engaging. The barista even added that nice touch of a swan to the coffee foam. It's been a while since I've had great service at a coffee shop! read more

I was so excited to see a new coffee shop open up in Lynchburg, but they've been so hostile towards the local community. They have customers and other coffee shops through hostile social media posts. They're very stingy on Wi-Fi because they don't want people doing homework. I'm sorry but you should not have opened up your café in a college town. Not to mention I paid almost $10 for a cup of coffee there. And absurd price for bad management all I'm saying is if I'm gonna give my money to a coffee shop this is not the one I wanna give it to. I don't come on to write reviews like this very often, but I was so disappointed. I would love to see improvement and see this café connect with the local community because their coffee is good and the café is beautiful.
