It's cute. Reminds you of the Disneyland carousel. Seemed to be enjoyed by kids of all ages. My kids loved it.

Fun ride but not worth $3 if the one in south coast plaza is only $2. Friendly staff. Buy ticket from the guy at the cart.

This is a fun little attraction, especially if you have young children. One of the best surprises…read moreis that the carousel is now free to ride--it used to require a fee, so that's a nice bonus. The music creates a pleasant atmosphere, and it's a charming place to stop and enjoy for a few minutes. That said, the carousel could use some maintenance. Many of the animal figures are showing their age, with paint peeling and visible wear in several areas. A few tips before you visit: The carousel is only open Thursday through Sunday, so be sure to check the operating days and hours before making the trip. Parking right next to the carousel can be difficult, especially during busy times. There is another parking lot about a 5-minute walk away that usually has more available spaces and is much easier to use. Overall, it's a nice family-friendly attraction and worth a visit, especially since the rides are now free. Just manage expectations regarding the condition of the carousel and plan ahead for parking.

I had my granddaughter all to myself the next two days and remembered there's a carousel at The Great Park in Irvine so I took her. We were there BOTH DAYS! She had a blast! I can't wait for her to visit me again! BONUS the carousel is FREE!!!

I was here for Daisy Chain Fields tonight and an excellent summary of the experience I overheard…read morewas "the musical performances were great, too bad this is the only thing people will remember". The "this" she was referring to was the unmitigated disaster that was the rideshare situation in Parking Lot 4. Drop off was fine, but the parking lot pick up procedure was both confusing, frustrating and a complete debacle. Keep in mind there were 45,000 attendees at least a third of whom probably booked a rideshare. Not only did police and event staff block off entry completely around 11:00PM (the show ended at 10:00PM) we were redirected to another parking lot supposedly letting drivers in (but didn't end up doing so) leaving people completely stranded to fend for themselves for their way home. Nobody seemed to have any idea what was going on or who had accurate information. You were completely out of luck if your phone died. Lord knows how you'd manage to get home. Our party didn't end up getting home until 1:30AM, 3.5 hours after the event ended. My guess is there's probably some kind of bizarre city ordinance that requires event spaces/parking lots close to residential homes to close at certain hours which is why they forced everyone out of Parking Lot 4 before anyone actually got picked up. I know this is the first year this music festival was held here and the space isn't properly prepared for traffic this size but this was completely unacceptable and avoidable. Shuttles and parking closer to the event were both pricy and sold out so for some folks the only reasonable alternative was a rideshare. What was otherwise an enjoyable space gave people a terrible impression and a bad taste in their mouths not to return to a place so poorly equipped to handle transport. If you're going to hold huge events like this, sort out the rideshare situation after the event or not do them at all at Irvine Great Park.

Hands down one of the cleanest, most convenient parks in the Irvine area!…read more There are several baseball fields, tons of gated tennis courts, playgrounds for the kids, countless picnic areas that are numbered for parties and gatherings. I think what makes this park stand out is the crowd. Any park can be beautiful but, without the proper maintenance from the park crew (and most importantly the park goers) it doesn't stand a chance. You see tons of regulars here with their dogs, families, kids. Everyone is friendly and respectful of one another. The dog crowd at this park is also one of the best I've seen. Although the park is not off leash, there's wide open areas for you to allow your fur family to play catch, run around, and have a bit of freedom! They do have a couple of posts that have doggie bags however, they run out quick so please do come prepared with your own poop bags just in case! There are plenty of water fountains throughout with water filling stations attached, so don't forget a bowl for your fur family!!

Shelters 1-4 are available to rent thru the City of Irvine. This is shelter #3. There's a BBQ, two 6 foot tables, and two 8 foot tables. The benches on the 8 foot tables don't extend the length of the table, so someone in a wheel chair might be able to sit there (although I didn't pay attention to the height of the table) . Seems like 3 adults would fit comfortably per bench, 4 of you packed it in. The picnic shelter is a short walk from two bathrooms and the play structure

With its beautifully restored horses, charming music, and storybook atmosphere, it captures the timeless feel of a traditional carousel found at classic fairs and theme parks. This attraction is suitable for guests of all ages and can be enjoyed whether you're riding solo, with friends, or making memories with family. It's especially fun for younger children who enjoy picking out their favorite horse and taking a spin around the carousel. As simple as the ride may be, it's part of the nostalgic charm that makes Disneyland special. The location in the heart of Fantasyland also makes it a great attraction to enjoy while exploring the surrounding area. One thing to keep in mind is that the ride continuously spins in a circle. If you're prone to motion sickness, dizziness, or nausea, you may want to skip this attraction or ride with caution. For everyone else, it's a fun and relaxing Disneyland classic that's worth experiencing at least once.

My younger kids love this ride, often requesting multiple trips and, honestly, because of the minimal wait, I'm always happy to oblige. Not to mention it's always fun to go on one of the original rides of the park. It's fun to think about how many people over 70 years have gone around and around. The ornate decorations of the ride are absolutely stunning. There's so much to look at that I feel like I see something new every time I ride it. Finally, this is a great area to character watch. I've also seen so many of them ride the actual ride. Something that can't be accommodated on most rides. On my last trip we saw Peter Pan goofing off and riding much to the delight of kids (& let's be honest, their parents too). I often feel like a lot of people without little kids just pass right on through Fantasyland because there aren't any thrill rides. But, honestly, it's rides like this with its history and uniqueness that make it a near required ride for me on any Disneyland trip.
