We played some air hockey, skeet ball, and a few "drop the claw to grab a prize" games. One of the staff members was restocking an identical machine that we were playing next to us and he gave us a wink and said he'd leave a few items in an easy position which was nice of him. Of course we took advantage of his kindness and nabbed a few small stuffed animals. To play the games, you put cash or a credit card into the token machine and get a plastic token card to use with the various games. I just put in $20 and it was a fun way to kill 20 minutes.

It's super cute and probably an activity that parents and their small children would enjoy. For some adults, maybe it could be a cute activity to remind them of their childhood. It's a slow ride around. Think Disneyland but much shorter. Great for locals if they are already in the area. Not always open, so check ahead of time. The best part, the ride is free!

Staff members were constantly walking around cleaning, organizing toys, and even swapping out linens and plush toys for clean ones. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and welcoming. I also appreciated that the play area is gated, which made it much easier to relax knowing little ones couldn't wander out. There are a lot of cute details throughout the city. The phones inside the different shops actually call each other. There are drivable cars with a road circling the city, unlimited train rides every 15 minutes or so, and bubbles after the train rides that were a huge hit. A few things to keep in mind: the air conditioning wasn't working well during our visit, and there was only one large fan cooling the entire space. It became pretty uncomfortable once the room filled up. Seating is also limited, with only a few benches around the perimeter and a handful inside the city area. Another downside is that shoes are worn throughout the play space, which isn't ideal for crawling babies, so I think it's best suited for walking toddlers. The space itself is fairly small, so I would personally avoid visiting on weekends or other busy days. If you're considering hosting a party there, the party area consists mainly of picnic tables. It isn't fancy on its own, but with the right decorations I could see it looking really cute. Overall, Imagine City is a clean, well-maintained play space with thoughtful interactive features that toddlers will enjoy. While there are a few comfort and space limitations, we had a fun visit and would definitely return.

It's quiet. Shady. Lots of grass. Gentle hills that make throwing a ball way more fun than it should be. Bring a blanket, park nearby (just not directly in front of the lawn bowling unless you're okay gambling with the occasional errant ball ), then relax. Watch the bowlers, throw a ball for your dog, read a book, eat a snack, take a nap, or just touch some grass for a while. My review is really just for this little corner of the park because that's where we spent our afternoon. But Recreation Park itself has a huge dog park, a playground, tennis courts, golf, ball fields, a bandshell, and even an area for fly-casting practice. Last weekend I drove out to El Dorado Park looking for this exact feeling. Ironically, this little corner of Recreation Park delivered it even better.

You can count on this during and after every weekend. The dog park and the owners are responsible and respectful of the property. The homeless also seem to, for the most part, clean up their areas once they are forced to leave. It opened in 1975 with "dodgem" bumper cars made by Majestic Manufacturing. This is a pretty low key ride (drive) that is about 3 minutes long. The car holds two people, but most adults go solo while younger children have an adult ride with them. You have to be 48 inches tall to go solo and if you are under 42 inches tall you have to be with an adult. Hubby & I have driven these cars a couple times. There wasn't a line. The longest wait time for this ride is when the one employee makes sure every person in every car is secured properly. Just for kicks, this is a great time to be a big kid mingling with all the other people who want to have fun! One rule is that they don't want you to intentionally bump into another vehicle head-on. I'm sure we'll be seen here driving a dodgem bumper car again! ***Don't drink and drive!***

I went on Rapid River Run with my kids and our nanny Blanca A., and honestly, I think it was more…read morechallenging for the adults than the children. I'd never been on it before, but it was a familiar type of ride--a big boat that swivels up and down and side to side. The wait was short, as the boat had decent capacity, and there was no height restriction for children riding with adults. We piled in after maybe ten or fifteen minutes in line, and neither my three-year-old nor my scaredy-cat six-year-old expressed any trepidation. They enjoyed it immensely, while Blanca and I got a little bit nauseous. The ride didn't last long, but by the end, I was more than ready for it to be over. The movement was otherwise fun, though, and I don't think my babies felt queasy at all. I'd recommend Rapid River Run if you're spending the day at Camp Snoopy. Just be prepared for some mild motion sickness.
