    Pixar Pal-A-Round

I was in awe at the long line for the swinging gondolas. I could only do the non-swinging gondolas and luckily, there was only a 20 minute wait time for the non-swinging gondolas on a Wednesday afternoon, end of June. I ended up going on this ride during the daytime, but I bet it's spectacular at night! This ride is a Ferris wheel and it goes high above Pixar Pier. You can pretty much see the entire Disney California Adventure park! This ride does shut down early, around 7:30 P.M for the World of Color show. The Pixar Pal-A-Round will lift you over 150 feet into the air with amazing views! The swinging ones will sway forward and backward. If you get motion sickness easily, I'd recommend avoiding the swinging ones, but the non-swinging ones are perfect! Each Gondola is themed too based on a different Disney or Pixar character! Next time, I'll have to try to ride the Pixar Pal-A-Round during the evening in November or December to catch all of the beautiful theme park lights!

The iconic wheel that's in every ca adventure family picture overlooking the water. The fun ride is appealing for the views that you're able to have from inside as it ascends. Staff are helpful and courteous. Great memories and fun times. The entrance is close to Toy Story. Swinging or fixed. If you get motion sickness maybe opt for the fixed cart.

That swinging gondola was high and against my better judgement I did get on..I asked if I could get on one that didn't slide from side to side while up sky high and he said yes of course ..the line was to the left...Ugh ..I was committed ...the most gorgeous view and I did get a bit dizzy but it was worth it..

I call it the Mickey wheel... Who is this ride not good for? - Anyone with a fear of heights -Anyone with motion sickness -Anyone that get disoriented easily (lightheaded, vertigo, dizziness) Who is this ride good for? -Anyone wanting a thrill -Anyone wanting a view of DCA from the top If you can stomach this ride, it is lots of fun. The views are really something. Great ride to get some air and feel like you are flying or floating rather. If you struggle with anxiety or get disoriented easily, I'd suggest picking the non-swinging cart. If you are a wild child, then go for the swinging cart! lol

What happens when you cross a Pirate ship style ride with a ferris wheel? The answer is Pixar Pal Around. I was excited to try this ride especially when I watched how the swinging cars would follow a U shaped track depending upon its height. My husband wanted to ride the non swinging car and I went with the swinging car. Oddly enough although both lines were long we managed to get on at the same time with his car being in front of me. I sat on one side with two women who offered to take my picture on the ride. There isn't anything to strap you in but once you get going you actually do swing up and back much like the Pirate ship. Hang on for the time of your life. Another interesting observation was since I was in the swinging car I never knew when we reached the top as our car dipped downward. I had no idea how many loops we took but before we knew it the ride was over. I asked my husband how he enjoyed the non swinging car and he told me it was like a traditional Ferris wheel where you can get good sights of the park and the area surrounding it. The choice is yours-take the non swinging car and ride like a Ferris Wheel or take the swinging car and have the time of your life. Located in Pixar Pier in CA Adventure.

Mickey's Fun Wheel is a massive iconic Ferris wheel on Pixar Pier in the California Adventure Park. If you are afraid of heights or prone to motion sickness, this ain't for you. I enjoyed the ride so much that I rode it twice. Once in the swinging and the other in the non-swinging gondola. The swinging gondola was a hoot. Felt like sitting in a big rocking chair suspended in the sky. But I wished I would have ridden this at night. Ohhh I bet that view would have been even more spectacular. There are two separate lines. The swinging gondola queues are towards the right side. The line is always longer for those. They have 16 swinging and 8 stationary gondolas with each seating. They are open air with caged screens. There are no seat restraints. You can move about freely in the gondola. For the swinging gondolas, go nuts and move about in it to make it swing. It swings a bit on its own (sliding back and forth towards the center of the wheel). It is on rollers on an U shaped track. The ride goes around twice. Fun facts: 160 feet tall. No height requirements so the tater tots can get in on this action. The ride was inspired from the 1920s Wonder Wheel at Coney Island, New York. The wheel is lite up at night and is the focal point of the Pier.

It doesn't look like much but the swinging gondolas are no joke! The screams you hear are real! I think it's one of the most thrilling rides! Lol Located in Disney California Adventure Park, this huge ferris wheel with enclosed gondolas seat up to 6 adults comfortably. It has bench seats on both sides. I'd make sure to balance the gondola so not everyone is on one side and empty on the other as it will swing more. You will definitely get great views of the park and neighborhood as you can see far away with how high you are above the park. There are 2 separate lines for the ride - swinging and nonswinging. The wait can get long, but goes pretty quickly as they don't stop getting people on and off. They load 3 gondolas as a time - 2 swinging and 1 nonswinging. The swinging line goes faster. I usually go on the nonswinging side as I like my relaxed ride around the wheel. It goes around twice per ride. It's exhilarating being at the top! The feel of being in the swinging gondolas are like you are about to fly out! It's the wildest feeling. Different than other rides because it feels less controlled. Your always moving even when the wheel has stopped. The scariest is at the 1:30, 4:30, 7:30 and 10:30 positions. The 12:00, 3:00, 6:00 and 9:00 positions have less swing. Definitely recommended!

Okay, I have to admit I was on baby duty for this one. When you walk up to this massive structure with Cages that rotate as the wheel moves the first thought is nah. I am never going to do that but then you see that about 25 percent of the cages are not on the crazy tracks and are stationary around one poll. So if you are looking at this from a distance do not sorry if you want you can get a stationary cage for the ride. They family had a blast and a huge smile on their face when they were done and my 2 year old went on with no problem.

Located in Disney California Adventure Park. It is a Ferris wheel ride with a twist depending on which cart cage you choose the swinging or non swinging. The swinging one swings forward and backwards each time the wheel is moving and the non swinging one doesn't. One of the best things about this ride is the view you can see all of DCA and it's surroundings especially at night seeing all the lighted up city. Overall a fun ride indeed.

For me this was a no go!!! I went because kids wanted me to go but if your afraid of heights and get motion sickness easy this is not a ride for you. We choose the non swinging cart but was still moving while up in the air. The wind was really hitting the cart too. It was very cold so make sure to have your little ones in a jacket around this time of year. Staff were nice and everything but the ride it self was horrible for me.

We went early when the park first opened which gave us time to get in a few rides before more of the crowds started showing up. The lines were not too long at all. The longest lines we encountered were the Calico River Rapids and GhostRider. I still didn't feel like the line was too crazy of a wait though. I was expecting to only get to ride a couple rides and we ended up riding a lot more! When we arrived we also decided to get lunch early because the lines seemed a little long. It was a good idea because the lines just got longer. The Summer Nights Market was also happening and since we stayed at the hotel we had a tasting card. Some of the meals were pretty good but there was one that was disappointing and that was the bbq pork bahn mi. It was super cold and the bread tasted stale. Other than that everything else we tasted was decent.

It pains me to give Knotts a negative review because we've had some good memories over the years,…read morebut I have no choice considering how the park has conducted itself in recent times. Knotts continues to do little to curtail the overpopulation of rampant and out of control teenagers that seem to take over the park every time we go. Despite their new policy that teenagers aren't allowed to be in the park without an adult they seem to do little to police their own policy. On our family trip a few months ago, it was clear that teenagers roaming the park freely, being disrespectful to guests and not being told anything by park staff was once again taking place. My daughter recently had her eighth-grade trip recently and the park was so overcrowded her and her friends were able to only get on ONE ride. Yes, that's correct. They got on ONE ride and were there over 7 hours. This was due entirely because they over booked and had probably dozens of schools there from all over So. Cal. Why in the world would they allow so many schools to go on the SAME DAY! Greed, I'm guessing or at least incompetence. This completely ruined their day seeing as the lines were so long one ride was all they could get on. Of course this was because there were so many kids running around and completely took over the place. My concerns were validated in a recent news report on several local TV stations. It was reported that there were large numbers of teenagers that were looking to "take over" Knotts after a Tik Tok post was leaked out. Thankfully, police caught wind of this and their devious plan was foiled. Knotts needs better planning, management, and overall control of their park so that it may once again become a family-friendly enviornment.

(We still don't see how ticket prices for DCA is the same as for Disneyland.) Since it was right in the middle of summer with ALL the school kids out of school and most of the morning/daytime-arrival people still there, all the ride lines were 60+ minutes long, so if you don't feel like doing that, the low price still isn't worth it just to walk around. We only did it because we hadn't been there in almost 2 decades, so we know things were completely different since we were last there, and we needed a different change of scenery. Plus, that price is almost like county fair prices nowadays, so we wanted to go. If we were the type of people who normally go every few years anyway, then no. We had already gone to Disneyland a few months prior anyway, so this was our chance to finally go to DCA. There were so many people there, you couldn't really enjoy it, but it was nice because the scenery was new to us. We may try to go again in the next several months when everyone's back to school and work at it's a LOT less crowded. I didn't get to ride any of the 5 rides I wanted to go on, especially Radiator Springs Racers, which I think was a 90-minute wait at the time. We rode some kiddie ride, which was just a cooling time to sit down, so at least we got to ride 1 ride. We didn't get any food or even drinks there at all. So, $158 for two people to just walk around (for 1.5 hours) is still steep...even if we had stayed a little longer. The 3 good things about it were, we got some good walking in, it was nice scenery, and since it will still quite hot, we went into many of the gift shops to get cool. We did buy 1 item though...a cap. Overall, we're still glad we went because it was mainly about freeing our minds off the daily grind. I believe the Soarin' Over California ride is the only thing that was still there when we last went.

The water slides are enough to keep kids having fun for a while. For added fees there are other optional activities but seems more geared toward younger kids. so why 4 out of 5 stars? Because I've been to the one in northern california (manteca). This property seems older. More crowded, and just doesnt have the same lodge vibes. There simply isnt the same WOW factor as the Manteca location. There is no parking garage in Manteca but instead a vast land of parking spaces. So the Lodge just commands attention and shows you are about to enter something grand. Here they use a parking structure and although efficient it just doesnt give of same vibes. The "Grand Lobby" here is also just meh. The area and space seems so fragmented and doesnt have a good flow. The manteca location is structured so well. You walk in from the main entrance and you are really in a Grand Lobby with the towering fireplace. Here its off to the side and now filled with arcade games. That fireplace is usually the photo spot for families in Manteca. Here you really dont have that. People have said the waterpark itself is better here. If it is, I didn't notice it too much. It isn't that much better to really matter. The wave pool here definitely is stronger which is very cool. But the lazy river, and everything else seems on par. I believe they have an extra attraction with the surf/wake board simulator. So IMO, the Manteca location is better overall. But this is a much better location being in SoCal with lots of other things to do here. While Manteca is basically nothing but Great Wolf Lodge.

Details below. -parking was easy. -room check in at the kiosk was easy. -the kiosk printed our wristbands out. -I got a text with our room number about 30 min later (I would have preferred no wait, but it was the busy check in time). -we went to dinner at BJs down the road, no wait, very good 2 family dinner. Great M-F deals. -my kids did the high ropes course and liked it. We hit the arcade for about 15 minutes, they didn't really like it (but it's under construction, they were moving machines up into the lobby). -I brought chocolate croissants and muffins, we ate bfast in the room. The rooms have large mini fridges, there's a small microwave where the ice machines are on each floor, there's a good enough weird coffee machine in each room. -we loaded our regular bags into the car, checked out of our of the room at 9:40, got into the line for the pool. -got plenty of chairs together for the adults. -my advice: you do not needs chairs for each kid, especially older kids. They stop by, sit, and bounce. Most people eat at the tables, there are signs that people can only sit at tables for 30 min, we never had a problem eating at tables (it's so much easier). Don't waste a bunch of chairs on kids who never use them.... -the bar drinks at the pool were very very good. the Bloody Mary was the best one I've ever had. Yep. We had a mango pineapple rum drink that was so good, not too sweet at all. -every staff member we encountered was on point, very helpful and kind. -I charged everything using my wristband, very easy. CONS: -I've been several times. In my option, the pizza place is the only food worth getting when you are at the pool. The Bucket food place in the pool area is just not good, it's very cafeteria and expensive. -I saw about 15 people slip and fall, mostly near the life jacket stand outside the wave pool. Like full on hard falls. An employee has a floor squeegee, but it's pretty useless. Even people walking slipped. -the headboards in the renovated rooms are pretty bad and dangerous. They have posts spaced out like 5 inches that have right-edge corners, so, sharp. And the pillows are not enough and not fluffy. When you lean back, your head slams into those pillar posts. My daughter's head went right between two posts so she hit both sides of her head on the posts. I hit my head too. Who the hell thought that was a great design? After that issue, I noticed all the hard corners on everything in the room. My kids are older now, but parents or younger kids, take note.

Castle of fun! My group bought the $48 Golfland Fun Pass and it was worth it. All attractions are…read moreincluded but the attractions we did were mini golf, laser tag, bumper boats, race cars, and everyone used all 35 points on their arcade card. You get around 6 minutes of play time per attraction. To access attractions, you press a service button to call over an employee. It was not crowded on a Monday afternoon and there was plenty of free parking. + We started off our day with bumper boats to cool off in the summer heat. Each boat had built in water shooters. We were spraying each other and everyone got soaked. + We went on race cars to dry ourselves off. The cars were surprisingly fast. - For race cars, there was no working service button. Instead, there was a picture of a button taped to the wall which was a bit confusing. We ended up finding a staff member who let us in. It would be helpful to have a note with instructions on what to do. + The laser tag arena was bigger than expected with plenty of walls and obstacles to hide behind. There were even a couple of jump scare surprises lurking in corners. + Mini golf was fun with different colored golf balls and decorated courses. + Plenty of arcade games for all ages. - Some games were broken or out of service. + Clean bathrooms. + They sell Dole Whip here.

The game selection is fairly limited, and some of the games weren't in the best condition. For example, the ring toss game was missing a lot of its rings, and I later noticed several of them scattered on the floor. Overall, the arcade could definitely use some updates and renovations to make the experience more enjoyable. That said, I would consider coming back if they offered better deals or promotions, as I think the place has potential with a few improvements.
