Rude packers ( one scolding me in Italian but I'm not sure what I did). When we moved in he rolled his eyes when he had to climb stairs. One of them used our toilet and didn't flush. Some things arrived broken and there are a few things that never arrived at all; not sure how that happens since it's all supposed to stay together. Numerous F&F had used Isaac's in the past and they all were pleased. Excellent experience for us. Very professional and helpful at each stage of the process. Our move was a little complex since it included packing, additional items after the estimate, and was inter-state. But everything went well and the crews were great to work with. In 2021 Moved from MA to PA used their moving services and storage facility as well. Office workers are not professional and don't do what they say they are going to do. The MA movers were a ok, couldn't speak English very well. Furniture was wrapped well. They were on the phones any chance they could. Storage was supposed to be stored in the PA warehouse but they changed their mind last minute and kept in MA. For the delivery of my goods in PA they charged me extra fees ($750) because they said the large truck couldn't fit on my road. Which is a lie since large trucks drive on my road all the time. The movers were 3 hours late to arrive at my home. They knew they were supposed to be at my PA house at noon but the company sent them to another job before coming to mine. The office never let me know that they were going to be late and when I called to ask where they were nobody knew where the truck was. Finally spoke with the person in charge of my move and she was going to find out where the truck was and call me back. She never called me back. The truck was 3 hours late. The movers in PA were very professional and helpful. The MA office people are very unprofessional. I would not recommend the Issac's Moving Company. read more

However my tools and therapy equipment never arrived even though I packed them in a tote myself with a couple other things and the tote arrived but the tools must have been stolen. Also, I had to travel back to MA because the GM said the repairs to my home were completed when they in fact weren't. He hired a furniture repairman to repair my wood floor door frame and wall. The door frame and wall were attempted but the floor wasn't even attempted. The second person they tried to hire said they were going to remove floorboards from my tongue and groove wood floor. I received a second opinion in which they said you absolutely cannot do that. You will further do damage to the floor so thank goodness I went back to Massachusetts to evaluate the situation and hire someone myself. I have also included a screenshot of the email communication in which the general manager threatens to not pay my claim for the damaged goods unless I remove this negative review. That's how slimy he is. This company has made my life an actual living hell. I moved for a high-level position which requires a lot of concentration to learn, but I've spent countless hours of wasted time dealing with Isaacs and especially the general manager. I ALSO HAVE A MEDICAL CONDITION THAT THE STRESS OF THIS HAS MADE WORSE SOMETHING THAT I HAVEN'T NEEDED TREATMENT FOR SINCE 2018 UNTIL NOW. I informed the company of what they are doing to me and yet I'm refused reimbursement for my travel back to Massachusetts to take care of their constant mistakes that affected the closing of my home costing me even more. Absolutely horrible experience. They estimated the weight incorrectly so the move cost thousands more than their estimate. Items were not packed properly resulting in numerous items broken. Some items broken were hidden under boxes in the basement and not discovered until after the 7 days to file a claim. Of course they denied the claim for those items because the 7 days had passed. Items were missing after the move, I assume stolen by the movers. It's been months and I still have not received payment for the damaged furniture they did agree to pay for. They are using some loophole in the fine print and saying they aren't going to reimburse me for the non-furniture items they broke. They are terrible movers and they are unethical. read more

Our move last week went very well!  The sales representative was terrific, explaining the process and pricing and making sure all of our questions (1st time working with a moving company) were answered ahead of our move date. On the day of the move the Isaac's team were organized, professional and helpful.  Per our prior conversation with the Isaac's representative, we had mostly everything boxed up and ready to go. We did however trust the movers with boxing some of the larger pieces, paintings and lamps. Everything was handled with the utmost care and intact upon arrival. The team finished prior to the estimated finish time and so we actually got that time taken off the bill.  Isaac's Moving & Storage helped take a lot of the worry out of a stressful time, did a GREAT job and we are happy to recommend the company to friends and family going forward. read more

They are the worst movers you could ever hire and they should be out of business. They were hired in July 2019 and we're supposed to be there 8:30am in Stoughton and they didn't show up until 3:30pm and they did a terrible job of packing. It was like a big race and they didn't care about what they broke or how they packed things. they have no respect for anyone's things. The men just threw things in boxes like it was a big race and they left half of the things in the apartment because they arrived late and the apartment building was closing. They should have been there on time and they should have cared. I would never recommend them. read more

The movers moved what they did ok, but left items behind. But the most negative aspect was the complete mess they left behind both in the house I moved from and the house I moved to. We had no idea how stressful it could be when my wife and I sold our home in Maine in the midst of Covid 19. Anticipation of moving our furniture caused our greatest worry. This concern was totally mitigated when we hired Isaac's Moving and Storage. Two movers arrived early in an immaculate van, wore masks and gloves, and took every precaution concerning Covid 19. Everything was carefully wrapped in quilts and plastic before being loaded into the van. They managed oversized furniture through extremely tight spaces and doors with ease, with care, and with no damage. Upon arrival in Massachusetts, the movers unwrapped and placed our belongings where we requested. They were excellent workers, friendly, courteous and most accommodating. Relocated from one state to another. Months before the move someone came out to look at the house and what type of special packing would be needed. First of all the movers were Lithuanian, which presented a language barrier. None of the "special" packing was done. The movers were respectful, however there was not much care taken with our items. Not being from this country they wanted to do some site seeing and traveled out of the way on bumpy backroads,which in turn damaged our washer and dryer. In my opinion, Isaac's Moving & Storage is an untrustworthy, irresponsible and very careless moving company. After the sudden death of my husband, I hired Isaac's Moving & Storage to move & store the entire contents of my home. Shortly after moving into my new home, Isaac's Moving & Storage were to begin delivering my belongings that had been moved & stored into an Isaac's Moving & Storage facility. When the Isaac's Moving & Storage men arrived, one walked into my home carrying my antique mahogany Chippendale wall mirror, in 2 pieces, with the top completely broken off! The bad news continued... My antique Chippendale wall shelf's backside mirror was cracked, the top of my 1700's antique pine wall shelf was completely broken off, an antique leaded glass lamp & shade (early 1800's, value $1,500.00) was very badly damaged and they lost the original lamp finial, a vintage Belleek lamp & shade, (matched pair) was completely destroyed/smashed, antique grandfather clocks' wooden base was cracked while in the possession of Isaac's Moving & Storage, the clocks' pendulum rod was delivered bent into a circle to fit inside their square moving box by one of the men from Isaac's Moving & Storage, which also resulted in breaking off the original brass top attached to the rod. I had to hire a clock expert to repair the clock pendulum rod. To date, Isaac's Moving & Storage has not reimbursed me for my out of pocket expenses for these repairs that resulted from their irresponsible handling of the clock. I paid extra to have a "special" box used to move the clock safely & properly, which, obviously, they didn't use. Several other pieces of furniture were dented, scratched or broken beyond repair. My Chippendale mahogany Governor Winthrop desk was very badly damaged while in the "care" of Isaac's moving & storage! To date, numerous personal belongings are missing that were in the possession & "care" of Isaac's Moving & Storage. i.e. numerous pieces of vintage Jewelry, Waterford crystal, personal clothing new with original tags, 5 pairs of headphones new with original tags, several personal accessories new with original tags, several pieces of antique salt glaze pottery (over $1,200.000 value), new camera ($500.00 value) etc. All went missing? I must ask... how does this happen? Several of the packed boxes had been rifled through & "picked" over while in the possession of Isaac's Moving & Storage. I know the boxes were rifled through, because the boxes, when originally packed, were packed differently when unpacked! Again, how does this happen? The bigger question is... why does this happen while in the care of Isaac's Moving and storage? I paid Isaac's Moving & Storage over $15,000.00 to pack & move all my personal belongings! I also paid an additional $400.00 plus per month for 5 months to have all my belongings stored in an Isaac's Moving & Storage facility. I also paid over $1,500.00 for a full replacement value insurance policy for damage and/or loss. To date, Isaac's Moving & Storage has refused to file an insurance claim on my behalf for my losses, which are approximately 10,000.00 and will not returned any of my phone messages. Again, why won't Isaac's Moving & Storage return any of my phone calls or file an insurance claim, on my behalf, for an insurance policy that I paid for directly to Isaac's Moving & Storage? Did Isaac's Moving & Storage purchase an insurance policy that I paid for? What's really going on? I asked several times for a copy of my paid insurance policy, which I never received from Isaac's Moving & Storage. Why? Where are the remainder of my belonging that were stored at Isaac's Moving & Storage? They didn't just vanish into thin air? Where are they? Who has them? When I hired Isaac's moving & Storage I TRUSTED that they would safely move & store my belongings, not rifle through the boxes & handle my furniture so carelessly that several pieces are completely destroyed or severely damaged and items completely MISSING! After being completely ignored by Isaac's Moving & Storage, I had no other choice than to report Isaac's Moving & Storage to the Boston Better Business Bureau & the States Attorney Generals Office. I sincerely regret any & all involvement with Isaac's Moving & Storage, which has been an extremely horrible experience! p.s. When Isaac's Moving & Storage left my property, in the early morning hours, my front lawn was strewn with Isaac's Moving & Storage's rubbish/garbage, which included, but not limited to, several used & empty rolls of packing tape, packing paper, used coffee cups etc. Isaac's Moving & Storage's moving men were suppose to finish packing & moving everything by 10.p.m. Isaac's Moving & Storage finally departed my property in the early morning at 2 A.M. blowing their truck air horns, laughing, yelling, howling & whistling to each other as they pulled out of my driveway, leaving all their garbage behind for me to clean up the next morning while on crutches! read more

I searched Yelp for moving companies to move my one bedroom apartment from Brockton to Middleboro. I got quotes from a few companies and decided on Isaac's based on their reputation and Yelp reviews. I'm glad I did. The communication beforehand was excellent and there was no issue when I had to change my move date. They were on the upper-end of the hourly rate scale, but I believe you get what you pay for. The crew showed up on time (actually a few minutes early) and worked efficiently. They were great. The only wrinkle I had to add to the process was I would not be getting the keys to my new apartment until 10 am. They were understanding. We ended up waiting only 15 minutes at the new place. The whole process, start to finish, was only about 3.5 hours and their quote was right on the money. I would recommend Isaac's to anyone. Thank you for making a stressful process easy! read more

We've used Isaac's twice now, for four separate moves. We first hired them in 2011 when moving from Boston to Brookline (with a month in between where we stored everything in Stoughton). Not the most convenient timeline on our part, but they were excellent and well within budget. When it became time for us to sell our condo in Brookline in late 2016 and move to the suburbs in early 2017, I called Isaac's again. I ended up speaking with Ron Hefez, who was professional and courteous and had answers to all of my questions. Within a few days he had set up a home visit where a knowledgable man showed up and took a rough inventory of what we were moving to help provide an accurate quote. Soon after, I received a quote from Ron via e-mail, and it was within my expectations and my budget. We needed to store all of our belongings for a month or two while we waited for our new house to be ready, and Ron took good care of us making it easy to store our belongings at their facility at a more than fair cost. On moving day, Alex and his team (Alex and his brother have worked for Issac's for more than 20 yrs!) arrived on time, scoped out the condo, knew what they needed to do, and got to work. Keep in mind we had packed everything we could in boxes and we labeled the boxes with their destination room at our new house, so it was truly a *move* and not a scramble for them to pack for their clients like I'm sure happens quite often. First, they started wrapping large items in soft moving pads. They labeled every single item leaving our place with a small inventory sticker since it was all going to storage for a time. Then, out everything went, methodically and quicker than I expected. The entire move took less time than expected, and off they went. Six weeks later, the same team of gentlemen showed up at our new house. Alex did a walkthrough of the entire empty house, room by room, to make sure they knew where everything would be delivered, and he pointed out to me any noticeable floor scratches that were already present before they began their work. They placed floor protection over any area where they'd be walking, and they placed padded bumpers over the doorways where the furniture would be coming in. Within a couple of hours everything was in its place and once again we were within the estimate. Alex and his team were friendly, funny, professional, and respectful. We got to know each other well during the two interactions. It was clear to my wife and me that Alex had experienced everything one can experience in the moving business, and he had ways to handle any challenge that he faced. He likes what he does and it shows, and he is very good at it! I hope not to move for many, many, many years, but if I do, it will once again be with Isaac's. Moving from MA to SC since they were local and I saw them on the road all the time we chose them After they came out to to a primarily list of what we Were taking. Went down hill from there had to call To see if they could do it on the date I requested told they were busy and would get back to me. When we Signed all the paperwork asked when did we want delivery said 3 days. It's in paperwork that takes 3-14 Days told verbally & on phone never takes 14 days took 12. Had to call again to find out delivery date got a lot Of reasons why the dates kept changing for delivery. When finally arrived only driver & mover was 3 to load Truck in MA but the 2 did a better job unloading. A lot Of boxes had no tags that they put on with name & address lamp was crushed & glass broke. Had to spend A lot of money at hotel waiting for them had I known it Would of used other company. This is just the short version of our experience Won't use them again or Tell anyone to hire them. read more

I didn't have the best of experiences with Isaacs. My move involved picking up items from my house and storing them for five months, then picking up items from my apartment, and moving everything from the Boston area to Florida. Despite the fact that they picked up the last items on March 1st, they didn't deliver everything to Florida until March 13th. They sat on my belongings for almost two weeks hoping to pick up other loads for the trip so that they could make additional money (and I had almost a full truckload and they were charging me a lot of money for the move). While technically they met the last date of their delivery window, they gave me a timeframe of March 5th through 13th for the ultimate drop off (so they delivered on the last day that they could). When I spoke with the General Manager, he told me that I should be happy that they met their obligations as he said many movers don't and just make empty promises. I didn't feel that he really tried to do anything to help other than give me the party line. Furthermore my couch was eaten by rodents while in their storage facility. I paid extra for full insurance coverage and they initially said that the rodent damage didn't happen with them (which was impossible since they inspected the couch and wrapped it in plastic when they picked it up). They initially gave me a run around about paying the claim and then took forever to reimburse me. Again, ultimately I got paid for the damaged couch but it was not a good experience and they made me jump through hoops. Lastly they lost several boxes and said that they weren't responsible since I didn't identify the lost boxes at the time of the final delivery . I had over 160 boxes in total and was so busy just telling the delivery team where to put the boxes there was no way that I could keep track of them all. They talk about the fact that they have an inventory system to track each box but it clearly failed with me. Ultimately I'd say they did a fair job. Not great, not the worst. In the final analysis I wouldn't ever use them again and wouldn't recommend them to others. The delay in the final delivery (despite the fact that they met their last day obligation), the poor response from the general manager, the damage to my couch and the runaround on the claim (when I paid for full insurance coverage) and the lost boxes made for a less than stellar experience. read more

This was our original review posted in 2014 (one we'd taken down through the arbitration process, but happily re-post now that the legal proceedings have concluded): Isaacs Moving & Storage may be the single worst moving company EVER. We spent over $6000 for moving and another nearly $500 for full replacement value insurance. They managed to break four items and the items they broke were very valuable. We thought it would be easy to process a claim with them and their insurance company Anthem (I mean that IS what they promised when they sold us the insurance), but we have been strung out to dry and have spent the past 12 months fighting through arbitration to be paid the replacement value for the four items they destroyed. There's STILL no end in sight. AVOID ISAACS AT ALL COST! Pick any other company and you'll be better off than you would be with these liars, cheaters, and thieves. They should be absolutely embarrassed to call themselves a "trusted" company. What a joke! They claim our broken items were "old" and have little to no value. Yes...the fact that they are old is absolutely true. Antiques are indeed, old. Each of the broken items was collected in far away lands - South Africa, Indonesia, and Greece. Isaacs valued replacement costs based on information they found on eBay. They might as well have used Wal-Mart.com. No disrespect to Wal-Mart, but that seems about the only type of value Isaacs seems to understand. Everything MUST be replaceable online, right? No regard at all is given to the true value of rare and cultured artifacts. What a shame to have to write this review. MAY 2015 UPDATE After nearly 18 months of fighting with Isaac's Moving & Storage, our arbitration has drawn to a close. I'm happy to report that despite all of the misrepresentations placed in front of the judge, Isaac's has lost. They are being held fully responsible for all of the damage they caused. We've just received our settlement award today. A word to anyone who has issues with a moving company trying to shirk their responsibilities to consumers...fight the good fight. I realize an 18-month arbitration process might seem daunting, but that's what every moving company is counting on - your fear that it's just not worth the time and energy. But trust me...if you are right, justice finds a way to prevail. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. I moved from one part of a N. Shore town to another - a move of approximately one mile. The movers were over an hour late. Once there they required constant supervision. When I told them "everything in this room goes" they often left half the room there. They did not wrap furniture with pads but rather wrapped plastic tape around wood tables and file cabinets, desks etc., which in one case damaged the finish. My furniture was not protected in any way - no pads were used with few exceptions. The movers lost the hardware for my bed. Once at the new place they were not going to put it back together until I suggested it - and then could not locate the hardware. They suggested they should return to the old house and dig through the trash. This would of course have been on my dime. I showed them that there were two supports that also went under the bed. Using bolts I located in my own toolbox we were able to get the bed together temporarily - however they still did not utilize the middle supports (which required no hardware.) Boxed clearly labeled "third floor" were placed in the dining room on the first floor. Kitchen boxes wound up in the bedroom. Boxes CLEARLY marked were left at the old location. Artwork, space heaters - etc. all left behind. The men put part of my belongings in another apartment after they had been shown precisely where my area was. They grumbled when I asked them to move it back to MY part of the house. After the move I had much more to do. In rooms where I asked them to take "everything" - they left file cabinets, rugs and other items that anyone else with common sense would know to take. The rooms should have been completely empty - they were not. I also asked them to pack one closet - they threw the clothes that were hanging into a box leaving everything else in the closet. They were absolutely and completely clueless. I had to supervise every little thing - and obviously even that was not enough. At the beginning of the move I asked the lead person if it was going to be ok for me to add gratuity at the end on my credit card. I told him that I had recently lost my debit card and thus would need to know THEN if he was going to need cash. He assured me it was no problem. At the end of the move when he completed the paperwork he was pissed that I was not going to pay cash and told me exasperated that he was going to have to pay taxes on that. He should have been pleased he was getting a tip at all! The manager called me to follow up on my move. I was moving into part of a historic home and had spoken to them before about it. I saw on the paperwork that it was noted to be very careful - but again - when they arrived at the house, they acted like every instruction was something they had never heard before. In one case - they used my landlord's velvet curtains to wrap a banister - the literally took clean, folded, velvet curtains - wrapped them around the banister - applied tape to them and used them without asking as pads. Not only is that rude - but they are expensive curtains - nor furniture pads! There are even more examples - but I hope you get the idea! The manager asked me why I didn't call him DURING the move - well - perhaps because I was too busy supervising his staff! He said he would get back to me - that my satisfaction was important... That was more than three weeks ago and I never heard from him again!!! In all - it was a very stressful time for me to have to move, and I trusted this company to help me. I had to hire other movers to help me after this move. I anticipated needing extra help for an external storage room - but I needed help with the main part of the house where it should have been absolutely bare after I paid almost $2,000 to Isaacs. I would never suggest someone use this service - especially if you have valuable items that you don't want tape applied to - and scratched. I have yet to find the hardware to a very expensive bed. They didn't help me - they made my life more stressful than it was before! DON'T USE ISAACS! Pay more and use Metrosexual Movers - I wish I had! read more

After having a really bad experience, which I posted here back in 2008 when I moved from Boston to Atlanta the owner mysteriously reached out to me in December 2012 due to him reading the bad review on Yelp. He pulled my file (which they still had) and reviewed what was claimed for damages and tried to make things right. I was impressed that he had this level of diligence and went through all of the file and determined that the settlement was not fair. He offered to try to make things right (essentially doubling the $250 they gave me for damaging my belongings, even though I spent a lot of insurance). Just that alone is worth me changing my review. It's not often that you see owners who actually care about the business and that customers are satisfied. Granted this took over 4 years, but I was impressed none the less. Miles, you and I are on some sort of odd moving wavelength because I, too, used Isaac's on Super Bowl Sunday. Insane. I used Isaacs twice already and will absolutely use them again. They really are efficient; I did a lot of my own packing but towards the end, I realized I was out of boxes and supplies and I knew that they'd be more than happy to sell me some boxes and supplies, so that's what I did. They didn't overcharge me for the supplies and they did an excellent job packing up the items I did not get to myself, and did so efficiently and quickly. read more

Regarding Jon's comments. It was a review on Angie's list that he responded to. Ask me to take it off. I did, and told him there was an additional review on yelp. He refused to work with me after we refused to pay the over charge. There is no extortion. I said it then, and I feel the same way now. I do NOT want Isaac's employees in my house ,they tried to steal my property until I caught them. After reading all the reviews regarding the repair of damaged items. I wanted to be paid for damages and proceed to get repairs done on my own. I contacted him and called him when this whole theft thing started. He did not approach me until he read my review on Angie's list. I recommend you sell everything, and start again. It is much more fun to buy new furniture, than have people try to steal your property, pack it haphazardly ,and then over charge . To begin, in the past 7 years I have lived in 7 different places so I have quite a bit of experience with this whole moving thing. I have done it all: UHauls with college buddies, shady craigslist vans, and a couple of "professional" moving companies. So when I graduated MIT Sloan and needed to move half my stuff to NYC to my new apartment and the hand-me-downs to my little brother's new apartment in Allston, I curled up into the fetal position dreading what I was about to endure. Then I found Isaac's. Who can remember if it was the bright blue refrigerator magnet in the shape of a truck on my friend's kitchen or his tales of moving heroism that prompted me to make that first call but we can let the historians work that out later. I spoke with Laura telling her all my moving woes and within a few moments my dread was gone, replaced with a sense of hope and optimism similar to finding a $20 bill in an old jacket. Laura set me up with everything I needed for the complicated move, gave me my quote, and scheduled the truck for pick-up. I was also able to visit their warehouse in Stoughton to buy some boxes and tape but unless you can combine it with an Ikea run (like I did), the drive out there isn't really worth it. Maybe they can work something out where they deliver packing supplies a few days before the move? Moving day arrives after a caffeine fueled, packing filled all-nighter. We had run out of boxes and tape sometime around 3am, I had no idea how to pack my 42' LCD TV, and I owned way more fragile glass frames/shelves then I thought I did. I'm screwed, with the movers due in 15 minutes what am I going to... phone rings. It's Anthony, the crew leader for my move letting me know that they are pulling into the loading dock of my building. Huh? Movers showing up early? That never happens... As I was trying to wrap my head around that I quickly ran downstairs to explain to Anthony my packing woes. "Do you guys have extra boxes and tape? I ran out" "Yep, not a problem. We've got everything including the wardrobe boxes that didn't fit in your car when you picked up the rest of the supplies" "I bet it's 10x the price, right?" "Nope, same price you paid last week" "I didn't know how to pack my large fragile items like the TV and glass frames, you guys have any ideas?" "Don't worry about it, we'll take care of it" And so went the next 3 hours with Anthony and his 2 man crew getting sh*t done like real professionals. TV? Got a special box for it. Frames and shelves?
