Today we closed on our new home. To celebrate, our sister brought Isaac's and we ate on the floor. She placed a somewhat big order and everything was very well packaged and presentable when it arrived to our house. She also said she liked this locations vibe. She also goes to the one in Gaithersburg.
Representing 2025 runner-up to out of town pick in alphabet series, we go from close to 400 miles from my home in Buffalo, NY to less than 10 miles away, another place than starts with B, Burtonsville with I is for ISAAC's. My girlfriend & I visited once on Sunday, July 13, 2025. We went over to Burtonsville seeing that a long time staple of the area was closing that day or the next, which we saw on social media. But when we got there, there was a sign saying Friday, 7/11 was their last day and thanking people for patronage. We went across the street to Tropical Smoothie, but they charged full price each for water cups; we walked out, and later that day, I slammed them with a rare 1-star Yelp review (see that from 7/13/25). I referenced ISAAC's in that review saying one of these days I got to get around to a 5-star of where we ended up, which it ended up being 11 months later. We decided to check out ISAAC's across the street from here in the newly remodeled Burtonsville Crossing center. This was order at the counter. We got chicken sandwiches, which were large, much bigger than Chick Fil-A, and more delicious too. I got mac n cheese & Brussel Sprouts, which we split. We sat at a high top counter. Seating is a bit limited on a semi-busy Sunday. Everything was great! We will need to come back here one of these days.
I really enjoyed Isaac's the few times I've gone! I met the owner once, and he is a local and is also very welcoming. Isaac's operates as both a carry out and a sit down casual restaurant. There's seating both inside and outside, so you'll always find somewhere to sit. My favorite item is the Isaac's chicken sandwich! I also really enjoyed the bread pudding. One of the best I've had!
I was pleasantly surprised with this place! I got the honey butter chicken tenders with a side of small fries. The person taking my order told me they were steak fries and I was a little skeptical but I ended up really enjoying them. For my sauces I ended up trying the Isaac's sauce and honey mustard and asked for some hot sauce as well. Definitely order the Isaac's sauce, it was amazing mixed with the hot sauce. I can see myself coming here again!
On a whim, I popped into Isaac's for dinner. I had viewed their web page, and I kind of expected an independent Boston Market vibe, which is not what I got. It's a beautiful, fast food feeling chicken restaurant. I got a half chicken with a side of mac and some vegetables, and a pineapple basil drink. The vegetables stole the show -- they're really good. The chicken was fantastic, too, with a very flavourful seasoning that permeats the meat -- not just on the skin. Their chickens seem to be a bit small, though. The mac and Cheese was a dud for me. It was really dense, and the cheese sauce had hints of melted plastic in it -- American cheese, maybe? Velveeta? Something heavily processed. And it wasn't creamy or flowing, but a thick gloop on the noodles. The drink was really good, and had a nice unique flavour. I'd pop by just for another.
(3.5 stars) This was a bit of an odd experience for me... I got 3 buffalo tenders, 3 honey butter wings, corn salad, and mac n cheese. The online ordering process was easy and it took about 15-20 min between me ordering and me getting the food. So, not bad. When I got to the restaurant, they told me my order would be ready in about 5 more minutes, which was fine. The amount of time it took made me think they were making the tenders and wings to order. It took me about 5 minutes to drive home, so the food wasn't in the car for long at all. Here's the weird part--it wasn't hot. I don't mean spice level; I mean the food was room temperature (the corn salad was cold, but it's supposed to be). I found that really weird since it took them about 20 minutes to get my meal together, which would suggest they were making it to order. But there's no way that can be true if 5 minutes after I got my food, it was room temp. That really affected my satisfaction with the meal. In terms of textures, the wings were crispy despite being in plenty of sauce. The tenders were saucy, not crispy. The flavors were pretty good. The honey butter wings were really sweet...which makes sense, since they're literally called honey butter wings. But too sweet for my taste (I'm a lemon pepper gal, but wanted to try something new). It tastes like they season the chicken itself, not just the batter that they're fried in, which is good. The tenders tasted like any other buffalo tender, but the spice was extremely mild. The pickles and carrots that come along with the chicken were all crunchy and crisp. The carrots had a vinegar-y taste that I enjoyed after eating the honey wings, but didn't like after eating the buffalo tenders. So, I think you'll either like those or not based on what you're eating them with. The pickles were pickles. I love pickles, so no complaints there. The mac n cheese was surprisingly good. I expected it to be like a store-bought mac n cheese--watery and bland. But it was creamy (think velveeta creamy) and seasoned well. The corn salad was probably the best thing I ate. I just didn't know what to expect, but it had robust flavors that I really enjoyed. I sort of feel like I want to go back to try at least one of their sandwiches, but the fact that the chicken wasn't hot was really disappointing. I don't want a cold chicken sandwich if I'm going to a place like this. I'd expect that from a fast food place, but not here.

The aftertaste was a little off. Their honey butter is wonderful! I enjoyed the tenders, but it could easily be on wings and just as good. The honey butter tender combined with Mumbo-ish is Elite. I would get that again and again. The rice and black beans with the fresh cilantro was unexpected and I loved it! Potato salad, not so much. It was OK. So was the broccoli slaw and I had high expectations for that. Who doesn't need a fresh veggie while enjoying fried food? The pickles and carrot on the side were yummy. Their chicken is tasty, even the plain one. Of course most food tastes better with seasoning but it speaks volumes when simplicity stands out. I would definitely come back and try a sandwich and/or salad and their pineapple/basil/apple juice. A solid choice in Burtonsville :D
Love Isaac's and really want them to make it. We have been going regularly for several months now. First had a huge amount of wings for a family meal. So good we ordered a huge order for Super Bowl. And regularly get our crispy chicken tender fix or wing fix on. Prices are great for the amount of food and all the chicken is gluten free (yes even the crispy stuff and all the sauces) - which is really great because there are several gf people in our family. But you'd never know - the gluten eaters and gluten free people all eat and enjoy!!! Will keep supporting so we can keep enjoying for a long time to come!
Definitely a five out of five you jive turkeys! I don't know why I said that... I just watched an episode of GI Joe and Roadblock is the best. But you know what's also the best... Isaac's poultry market. Sounds like a butcher shop but you know what they don't butcher... your wallet. The atmosphere and vibe, I almost expected to pay 3x as much... because if I see wine bottles laid out, I'm already thinking this place is out of my tax bracket... but it's decently priced. But the flavor is definitely high class. Super juicy and flavorful chicken and perfect Mac and cheese... the street corn salad is just delicious corn and it made me want to sing. The sauces that come with the chicken was a slight disappointment (we got the mambo-ish sauce and Isaac sauce), especially the mamboish sauce... but that's okay... their chicken doesn't need sauce. The chicken sandwich was the weakest thing we got sauce aside but that's not a dig... it was still very good.
This is such fresh and fun chicken. I ordered a 12 piece tender for multiple kids to share, a half chicken (not pictured), and a quinoa salad. I will be honest, my kids did not love the tenders, but I did! The seasoning was not for a picky kid. However, it was the freshest tender with the best seasoning and crunch I think I might have ever had. Not to mention, I will probably dream about the French fries we got as a side. My husband's half chicken was also juicy and well seasoned. My salad was very exciting because I got to choose the type of lettuce it was on, the type of salad, and then the kind of chicken it was topped with. I got the quinoa salad on the farm house blend, and then grilled chicken. I also ended up eating it with the blackened ranch instead of the dressing it came with. For a somewhat fast food, my salad was amazing and well topped with all the ingredients. Along with all the food being amazing, the service was also great. The workers were very accommodating and always making sure we had enough sauces. They were also very friendly with my kids watching from the side for their open kitchen concept. I will definitely be going back to Isaac's. read more

I really love the food here, but the service is also pretty amazing. More than once, a team member has visited our table and offered to refill our beverages. The decor is nice and modern, a bit sparse, but that makes it cleaner looking. It has a nice tone about it. My one complaint is the price, but given how much you get for it... and considering how everything is getting more expensive... it is what it is. It's still a bargain since I almost always get two meals out of one. If you are gluten free, I have great news! Aside from the bread and mac (and cheese), everything is GF! This is what they told us. They fry the tenders in a GF breading and everything else is safe. Again, always double check! If you want the sandwich options, they can put the ingredients in a bowl with fries. It's worth it for some of the wonderful flavor combinations they have. Well worth returning to! read more

I'm super excited to have this spot opening up right in my backyard! Today, I tried the honey butter chicken wings with a side of their hot honey sauce, which has a bold, tangy heat reminiscent of mambo sauce--just with an extra kick. The honey butter glaze perfectly complements the crispy, juicy chicken, adding a sweet and savory richness, while the hot honey brings just the right level of spice to balance it all out. The flavor combo is spot on! For my drink, I went with their pineapple-apple-basil blend, which was refreshingly light and well-balanced--definitely a nice palate cleanser. The best part? The portions and pricing! * Chicken wings (6 pcs... but really 12) - $9.75 * Fresh juice - $3.15 A seriously affordable and satisfying lunch. I'll definitely be back soon to try their fried chicken sandwich. If it's anything like these wings, I already know it's going to be a hit! read more

Got word this place was open and ready for business!! So ordered dinner using the website. Easy to navigate and user friendly. Once my order was placed made the drive to pickup. From Bethesda to Burtonsville on Tuesday 3/18/2025 at 2pm. Got there and food was ready all packaged on the wire shelf for togo orders. The food was fantastic!! Family meal 12 wings Old Bay not greasy, and 3 large sides roasted veggies cauliflower and brussel sprouts, rice and black beans, and broccoli slaw. I ordered additional small mac and cheese and tomato cucumber and red onion salad. The sides were well made and tasty. The sauces bbq, mumboish and their house sauce all well done and poured over chicken and mac and cheese LOL!! There was a table of 2 eating in and place was clean no paper or trash. Since my order was all ready didn't have much staff interaction but was greeted when I walked up. I will very much come again. read more
