Finally gave this place a try and I was not disappointed. On a Wednesday evening, it wasn't too busy. Very nice employee who rang me up and explained their menu. The concept of the mediterranean and southern fusion is cool. I might try the fried chicken next time. This time, I tried the chicken tikka kebab with white rice and a side salad. Didn't care for the white sauce but that green sauce was fire!! They were very generous with the pita bread. Woot!

I driven by Notos Southern Bites many times, but the name kinda threw me for a loop, so I never ventured in. Recently, I was in the area trying to kill time before heading to my part-time job, so I decided to give them a try. I had an enjoyable experience, but definitely didn't experience the southern part of the restaurant. I ordered the Chicken Shawarma Bowl through their website. While the inside seemed clean was practically empty, I am a fan of eating in my car...ALONE. My food was ready in less than 15 minutes and I was in an out of the venue in no time. The flavors were really good, but again; I didn't get any notes of southern cuisine. Maybe there are other menu items that hit on these notes, but I didn't get it.

We're went to that giant wine shop next door and we're hungry. I reluctantly decided to try this place. What a pleasant surprise. Everything was fresh and tasted great. They brought out a naan type bread with this really good green sauce. And we had the chicken and beef kabobs. Chickpea side was seasoned really well I'd recommend trying that. Rice had super long grains and topped with currants or raisins cooked sliced carrots maybe? Good meal that really hit the spot. Recommended

The chicken was hot and crispy. Had a decent flavor. It was very juicy. I would've loved a little bit more kick of salt but their signature sauce gave it a good flavor. The place is extremely clean and the service was friendly and fast. Next time, I'll have to try their Mediterranean side

Fried chicken was solid. Tender, great crunch, seasoned pretty well (could've been seasoned a bit more). I have to try more food from their menu to be able to give it 5 stars.

I stopped by Notos Southern Bites on my way to work, and I was pleasantly surprised by the twist on their name. Though I expected soul food given the "Southern" in the name, it turns out they serve Mediterranean cuisine. Ambiance was good as it was a clean bright restaurant store front with lots of lighting. The food was quite good. The chickpeas were perfectly spiced, the hummus was creamy and delicious, and the fish was well-prepared. The service was a bit slower than expected, though it wasn't too busy when I visited. I'm guessing the delay was due to the fish being made to order, which is understandable. Parking was convenient since it's located in an outlet. Overall, I enjoyed my meal and will likely return to explore more of their menu.

Everything was nice and hot! It was our first time checking this place out and Chef David was so kind! He swore we would love the food and even gave us free samples to try. He was right we will be back:)

Very good eats. Idk what kind of special they had to get me this chicken curry but it was soooo good. I didn't try any of their southern bites but I will have to go back and try it. Everyone in here was nice too!

Upon arriving I was kindly greeted by a gentleman named David. I asked him what the best thing on the menu was for my buddy and I. David recommend the lamb kabob, beef kabob, fried chicken and told us to have a seat. We were served 2 beautiful plates within minutes. I haven't been in Maryland long but this is by far the best hospitality i've had my entire time. Shout out David for the amazing food. Super positive guy and made the atmosphere fantastic. Thanks again. 10/10. -Tony

Today, I gave them another shot because Uber Eats was offering a buy one, get one free deal on the jerk chicken meal. I chose rice & peas with plantain for my sides. The chicken was cooked on the grill--which I love--because it really brings out the flavor in jerk chicken. I also requested my jerk sauce on the side since I prefer a dry rub style over a saucy one. The only drawback was the small bone pieces in the chicken and rice. That's something to be cautious about, especially if a child is eating the meal. The plantains were also inconsistent--some pieces were hard, while others were mushy. On the bright side, the coco bread was perfect and the Jamaican rum cake was phenomenal. Whoever baked that cake clearly took their time soaking it in rum. It reminded me of the way my grandmother used to make it--absolutely delicious. I would definitely order the rum cake again.

Usually with brunch we would do the bottomless mimosas and all but because I was driving I decided not to participate in that. And usually I would get chicken and waffles but I was in the mood for a burger. So I thought because their name is "Mad Cow" the burger would be the bomb...but nope it was not good at all. So I prefer a beef burger cooked medium with blue cheese, mayo, lettuce, tomato, and onions. When I burger got tot the table it was dry as a board. No blue cheese that I paid extra for and the burger was not cooked correctly it was cooked well done. Smdh. So the waiter brought me my blue cheese apologized about it and also gave me a mayo bottle. Even with the burger still was not good and the patty was so thick with no flavor not even salt and pepper was in it!! I tried their punch drink which was really good but for $15 a pop in a regular water glass was ridiculous. Make sure you don't get too tipsy as they already have like a 20% gratuity added on each of our checks no matter how small or big your group is which again is ridiculous! Will I come back...maybe only because I would like to try some Jamaican food they offer. But for brunch...it's a no for me!

My schedule was rearranged last minute on a Saturday so I decided to catch their brunch. The laurel location was the closest to me. I was able to reserve a spot at the bar on open table about an hour before arrival . It must have been a lucky day for me because there were plenty vacancies and I didn't need to make a reservation. There was live jazz playing. I sat at the bar - shout out to Nnamdi who was the bartender and my waiter. Food wise: brunch only offers the $55 unlimited food option for two hours. I was completely fine with this as I was able to taste multiple dishes. I had the fried deviled eggs, Rockefeller oysters, bang bang shrimp, deep fried snow crab legs, pork chop and grits, wings in hot honey lemon pepper (their signature sauce) and the white chocolate bread pudding I enjoyed everything except the deep fried crab legs. The cluster was hallow. I had more fried batter than crab meat. Deviled eggs were my favorite of all the things I tried. And the bread pudding was sinfully delicious . I wasn't able to finish my last two items ordered but luckily I was able to fit it in the to-go box. Most places that serve unlimited food don't allow to-go boxes so I was happy to not have my leftovers go to waste. I opted for the bottomless cocktails as well. I stuck to the mimosas and tried the different flavors. The pours were generous. Nnamdi was very attentive and I appreciate him answering all of my clarifying questions as it was my first time. Gratuity is included! I am excited to go back! Before leaving I ordered a cocktail (MisKiri IX) that wasn't included in the bottomless cocktails. It was good. Introduction to my date:…read more Continuing my alphabet series representing 2023, R is for Red Hot & Blue. I only visited once on the Saturday night (5/27/23) of Memorial Day 2023 weekend. I was not impressed overall with this place. So, in the spring 2023, I was infrequently dating a woman who lived in northern VA. Back in March, she said she would come visit me in MD. We even had the 1st weekend of April for her to have an overnight at my place, but she had to cancel that Saturday as her knee was hurting her from some prior car accident as I recall. By May, I was starting to date someone else who I had more interest in. We only saw each other once in those 1st 26 days of May in the early part of the month; so this was on the decline, but I was willing to consider how our weekend would be. Date experience: She came over on that Saturday evening. She got to my place showed her around the tour, but she took a phone call, which took an extra 15 minutes I think. And it took her longer than she said to get here, so I was already hungry. We got in my car. I said I know a great Peruvian chicken place in Laurel that I really liked. She said she didn't want that and hoped for some nice sit-down restaurant. I pulled over before fully leaving my condo complex searched on my phone figuring out where to go as I didn't have a back up plan discussing a couple of ideas. She said no to Mexican restaurant I suggested. I said I want to try Red Hot & Blue in old town Laurel, which she agreed. So, I already was annoyed by that. As we were driving, she referenced a late March trip I took with friends to Massanutten, VA. On that March trip, I had gotten her a gift from the gift shop. I asked my friend (who was also my ex-g/f) her thoughts. She said it dependent on how much you want to spend on her. I said not much as I don't like how she had told me to get something on the Massanutten trip. My ex agreed the refrigerator magnet was fine. On the way to Red Hot & Blue, she said you better have gotten me something good & not like a keychain. Well, a refrigerator magnet is about the equivalent. From that point forward, I checked out and knew the other woman who I started dating in early May would be the only one and ultimately my girlfriend that summer. Restaurant experience: We arrived. It's an older, small restaurant. Service was ok, a bit slow. While the food was decent, it was nothing to write home about either. I've had better BBQ in MD, even in Laurel. Frankly, I like Mission BBQ also in City of Laurel & elsewhere better. Also, the portion size of the beef brisket wasn't a whole lot. The potatoes were ok. I will give my date credit for 1 thing AND ONLY 1 thing; she did share some of her chicken with me as she saw mine wasn't that much food. It was expensive considering I didn't get that much brisket, and mediocre quality. My date was talking about weird stuff I wasn't interested in. I couldn't get the check fast enough, and by the way, they were kind of slow getting me the check. Of course, I paid for hers. Conclusions: We got back to my place. I took something to alter my state as I was pissed & annoyed with her. She did spend the night. She decided to end things as she didn't like how the night & morning went. I told her that's cool with me. I was going to send her packing anyway. Oh yeah, she was critical of the Massanutten fridge magnet, yet she took it anyway when she left for her scrap box. I should've hidden it. She left her sandals behind as she had brought other shoes. I texted her a few minutes later when I realized, but she said wrote too late to turn around at this point (might've already been on freeway) and to bring them down sometime, which I did not that long later. I discretely left in a plastic bag on a chair in front of her house, while she wasn't working and texted to let her know, which she simply said Ok (not even thanks). As for the Massanutten fridge magnet, for close a year after that I annoyed when I thought about my fridge without that magnet. In February 2024, I got a girlfriend, and we ended up going to Massanutten in April 2024, and I got a nicer magnet for my fridge. I probably wouldn't come back here as I was underwhelmed and further bad memories associated with this woman.

The atmosphere was warm and friendly, welcoming and not pretentious, a mix of couples, families, and groups of friends enjoying a night out. The restaurant was bustling, the bar area was nearly full and while we did have a reservation, it appeared not to be absolutely necessary. Service was friendly, prompt, and informative.    I started with one of their craft cocktails and our server recommended a beer for my friend. The drinks were perfectly refreshing and a good start to our evening. When my friend saw they had oysters, this convinced him we had chosen wisely. We selected a mix of their oyster offerings. They arrived chilled and with just the right amount of condiments making for a tantalizing slurp to start our dinner. For starters, we selected the Brussels Sprouts and the Roasted Beet Carpaccio. The Brussels were perhaps some of the best we've had in quite some time, perfectly cooked and seasoned. The goat cheese on the Beet Carpaccio was very good, but for me, the flavor profile wasn't quite there, it needed a little more acidity. For dinner, my friend selected the Shrimp and Grits, and I chose the Argentinian Steak. While quite good, constructive criticism would be that the vinegar in the chimichurri, smothered an otherwise perfectly cooked, flavorful steak and the rosemary overpowered the roasted potatoes. The grits, while delicious, were almost too creamy rich, but otherwise a delicious blend of sausage and shrimp. For dessert, we shared the Key Lime Pie and the Carrot Cake. The cake was very good, but we weren't fans of the hardened frosting top, and we wished the Key Lime Pie had even more tart, lime flavor.   The portions were plentiful, the price point was reasonable, and all plates were wonderfully presented. The friendly neighborhood environment, atmosphere, and service all enhanced our dining experience. Definitely give them a try, we will return and look forward to it.
