From the moment we arrived, the hosts were accommodating, and even Mother Nature seemed to be in on the hospitality--the weather was perfect throughout our visit. Our friends arriving from NYC recommended the spot since they stayed once prior our visit. This historic property is ideally located, just a short distance from the beaches, making it a breeze to enjoy the sun and surf. Our morning walks could not have been better and complete with Cape Cod views! We rented a Jeep for the trip and were pleasantly surprised to find a garage available, which made storing parts and beach gear super convenient. Thoughtful amenities elevated the experience, including umbrellas, beach chairs, and an unexpected highlight--unlimited Prosecco! The attention to detail was impressive, and you can find even more about their offerings online, as they're remarkably well organized. One of our favorite features was the music room, which houses a Yamaha baby grand piano, multiple saxophones, and guitars--a dream setup. Breakfast was perfect and always on time. All allergies were respected and delivery was flawless. I remember once we had to leave early and the owners have packed our snack To-Go. Wow! This B&B truly blends comfort, creativity, and convenience into a memorable Cape Cod getaway. It is highly recommended.

Even though they were fully booked for the weekend, our room was as quiet as if we were the only ones in residence. The view of the garden was beautiful, with a variety of gardens and sitting areas. The bathroom had a large shower with rain showerhead. The bed and linens were extremely comfortable, and multiple USB charging ports were on each nightstand. Breakfast each morning was an experience in itself, handmade by the innkeepers and featuring items from their gardens and local organic farms. One of us is vegan, and Kathleen carefully adapted all breakfasts to meet the same delicious standards as the non-vegan offerings. Of note for non-vegans, Kathleen and Chuck worked with a local butcher to develop a custom breakfast sausage recipe. The result is fabulous! In addition to breakfast, afternoon snacks are provided for each guest, in individually labeled boxes. Both vegan and non-vegan snacks were, of course, scrumptious! There is also a self-service coffee and tea station available to guests at all times. The location is convenient and lovely. I went out for a morning walk both days, and enjoyed my route along the coastal marshes and inlets, as well as beautiful Cape Cod architecture and historic buildings. Off street parking provided for one car per room. The inn is a short drive away from all Cape Cod destinations.

The bedroom features an oversized California King bed, a desk and chair, television and lounge chair with ottoman. Beautiful French double doors lead to one of the loveliest features of the room which is a private deck with chairs. The living room has a delightful fireplace, comfortable sofa and another television. There is also a tastefuly done little kitchenette which was stocked with dishes and glassware as well as a mini fridge. And off the living room is the attractive bathroom stocked with toiletries and comfortable robes. Right outside our room was a Flavia coffee and tea maker as well as another refrigerator with complimentary creamer, soda and bottled water. The table in our bedroom also had a complimentary decanter of sherry and two scrumptious chocolate truffles were left on our pillows each evening. Although most of the inn's rooms are in a separate building a few steps away, breakfast is served each morning in the main house and in the company of Harrison, the inn's resident and well behaved Labradoodle. An afternoon sweet treat of cake or cookies is also provided in the main house and there's always a bowl of chocolates if you need a sweet to tide you over. We had the bad luck to not have the inn-keepers, Donna and Byron, in residence during most of our stay as they'd suffered a death in the family and were out of state. However, they'd left clear instruction with their staff about our arrival and we were warmly greeted and welcomed. During our stay, the staff was quick to answer questions about the area and to provide restaurant recommendations. The room itself also contained a lot of information about local attractions and restaurants. The night before our last day we came back to our room to find a complimentary bottle of champagne and note from the innkeepers with their sincere regrets for having been away during our stay. That was a very nice touch and was greatly appreciated. On the down side, we actually didn't think much of the breakfasts as they were largely flavorless and frequently included microwaved bacon. We wondered if the food suffered due to Donna's absence because she was billed as the cook. Both Donna and Byron were back on our last morning and it was Donna who prepared our breakfast that day. The food did improve under her stewardship but we'd still say it compared poorly to other B&B's we've visited. Our room, though lovely, did have some oddities. All the plumbing fixtures were installed backwards so that all handles turned in an atypical direction and the shower pipe was loose which restricted some of the water pressure. The impression was that the work had not been professionally done. In the bedroom, the bed was oddly situated with one side far too close to the wall despite more than ample room on the other side. It made it uncomfortable for the person sleeping on that side to get in and out of bed. Finally, we do have somewhat of a pet peeve with inn-keepers who advertise suites, which should be two separate rooms divided by a door, even though the room does not meet that criteria. In this case, the only separation between the bedroom and living room was a screen. Nevertheless, the inn was quite nice and Donna and Byron were charming hosts who had trained their staff well. Brewster is located mid-Cape and convenient for day trips to Hyannis and Provincetown which makes this a good choice for a place to stay and there are some lovely beaches right by the inn. Overall we enjoyed our stay on Cape Cod very much.

My first two experiences were great: great service, pleasant staff, good food, and a fun vibe overlooking Nantucket Sound. We arrived tonight without a reservation and expected to be turned away, but instead we were seated by the windows overlooking the Sound. The hostess staff were especially pleasant and accommodating. We started with a cocktail and a mocktail, and both were excellent. It took an unusually long time for them to arrive, but our waiter brought two warm, crusty dinner rolls and butter in the meantime. We ordered the salmon stuffed with feta and spinach, accompanied by quinoa and fresh, al dente summer vegetables. Everything on the plate was, we thought, perfect. Our second entrée was the baked, stuffed lobster. The waiter initially brought us a steamed lobster, then told us he had made an ordering mistake and would be back with the baked lobster. It took a while. We ordered a second round of drinks, which were every bit as good as the first. The lobster finally arrived just as we were finishing the salmon. The disruption in the cadence of the meal was unpleasant. I ate the lobster tail and the stuffing. Unfortunately, the stuffing wasn't hot. It contained plenty of whole scallops and a few whole shrimp; some of the scallops were hot out of the pan, while others were room temperature, as were the shrimp. The lobster meat itself was room temperature as well. In fact, the entire lobster was barely warm. It also appeared to be essentially the same steamed lobster the waiter had initially brought out, subsequently dressed with the stuffing. It was a big disappointment. The waiter was friendly and pleasant, but he wasn't particularly attentive. The service was noticeably different from our first two visits, when our servers were terrific. Still, we enjoyed the drinks, the beautiful views, and the happy, lively vibe. The Meridian is clearly doing something right, and we locals seem to be embracing it.
