Long review - but so was our experience. Excellent in the end!…read more We sincerely hope Tommy H. has proven to be a valuable asset to the Ritchey Auto Family because for us, he most certainly has, to say the very least! Kenny was our salesman. He was phenomenal and very hardworking - always prompt communicating with us back and forth via text/calls. I believe Michael H. was our finance man- he was very kind and patient with us while staying well past closing hours to assist. Previous to this, we had a bad situation on our hands from this particular location ( previous management/ or owners ). Our patience was tested for nearly 17 months as we bounced around in 9 different loaner vehicles while dealing with old management, while we diligently paid on a truck we could not use at times. We were in and out of the service department. We dealt with Mark and Bruce who we want to say - we loved those guys and cannot thank them enough! No one wants to be sitting in the service department but the two of them always made sure our experience was top notch. We highly recommend them! Nonetheless, we were eventually forced to reach out to Mr. Larry K. For other issues. He touched base with us, immediately! He put us in contact with Tommy H. and, the customer service, willingness, and dedication to help us was all uphill from there. While we would have liked to pay a little less on the new truck we were promised over a year ago ( who doesn't - but they are priced fairly already especially considering the low mileage vehicles they offer ) at the end of the day we left with a truck that truly exceeded our exceptions and most importantly, they did deliver on their word ( actually, they delivered on someone else's word and this showed us a lot about the Ritchey Auto name ). They made sure we drove away in something else as stated, something safe, and they did this very quickly once Larry Tommy and Kenny stepped in. Tommy, we would like to personally thank you - your emails and correspondence were lightening fast. We never waited more than 30 minutes for a response from you. That is quality customer care! We appreciate you! Ritchey Auto Family - Please look forward to serving those that we share our experience with because we will most definitely be sending customers your way. We cannot thank everyone we've mention above, enough! If you need a quality low mileage vehicle - go see these guys! You won't be disappointed and don't be afraid of any credit issues you may have. We all fall on tough times - Ritchey Autos in Port Orange gets it done!

In 2023, my 2004 Lexus SC 430 was totaled following a storm. Since then I had been searching for a…read morecomparable replacement. When searching dealerships online I came upon High Tide Auto in Pt. Orange,Fla. listing a 2008 SC 430 . the car looked good and was an upgrade from my previous vehicle which was what I was hoping for. The price was reasonable and the car near enough to me so I wouldn't have to pay transport cost living in Georgia. I sent an "availability inquiry" and received a response on 1/27/24, from Salesperson Annie who confirmed that the car was available. I informed her that there would be NO TRADE involved but a CASH transaction. I informed her that I lived in Georgia and was waiting on Insurance monies to arrive in no less than ten days. At that time I would arrive to complete a TEST DRIVE with cash in hand. She gave me her personal cell # if I had ANY questions until then. During those ten days she answered my questions...sent me videos of the car to answer questions not visible from the online pics. We worked out total price of the car and she text me a buyer sheet outlining price tag & taxes including how close my bank was to their dealership to obtain a bank check to complete the purchase. Estimating the arrival of my Insurance Check I tentatively scheduled my arrival and test drive for 2/12/24. I told Annie I would contact her to confirm my 2/12/24, arrival on 2/9/24. The Insurance check came in on 2/8/24, and that morning I immediately contacted Annie confirming our appointment for 2/12/24, along with the sales numbers we had discussed. Everything was a "GO". My last conversation with Annie was at 10:13am, when I asked her to take a pic of the inside of the cars trunk. She said she would run outside and text me the pic. For the 13 days we talked Annie was always prompt in her responses. This time she wasn't. The next time she communicated was 3:47pm... apologizing for SELLING the car to a guy "who just walked up as she was taking a pic of the trunk". I was STUNNED...I went back and checked MY TEXTS to see if MY FRIEND ANNIE had sent me a REQUEST to send money...$500 or $1000 to HOLD the car...DID I MISS IT?...THERE WAS NOTHING...NOWHERE did MY FRIEND ANNIE say HER BOSS MADE HER DO IT...NOTHING...NOWHERE did MY FRIEND ANNIE say that she had been in negotiation with me for THIRTEEN DAYS with an APPOINTMENT set for 2/12/24. to COMPLETE a TEST DRIVE & PURCHASE...NOTHING...I felt that MY FRIEND ANNIE would have at least told the guy...Look, I gave MY WORD to this guy...The APPOINTMENT has been CONFIRMED...IF my guy doesn't buy the car on 2/12/24, let me get your info and I'll contact you and the car is yours...NONE OF THAT APPARENTLY WAS SAID by MY FRIEND ANNIE...HER WORD and MY WASTED TIME meant NOTHING...I told her on OUR 1st telephone conversation that I had other potential car choices in GA. and SC...THEY'RE GONE because I went with her...ANNIE, probably according to USED CAR DEALERSHIP RULES did nothing legally wrong...but are there now NO SUCH THING as ETHICAL BEHAVIOR??...I started not to respond to ANNIE'S "apology" which ONLY should be made in the event of an "ACCIDENT"...THIS WAS NO ACCIDENT...She SOLD the car with her EYES WIDE OPEN...I sent her a text on 2/9/24 @ 12:50am, because I was too FRUSTRATED to sleep outlining how I felt...She NEEDED to know IF it MATTERED to her or NOT...I retired as a CHIEF PAROLE OFFICER in GA in 2010 after serving over 30 YEARS...the 2004 SC was MY RETIREMENT GIFT to MYSELF...It being totaled in 2023...HURT...Finding that 2008, in FLA was a MIRACLE to me. During my career I should've gotten used to people "saying one thing and doing another"...what ANNIE did HURT...I guess since 2010, I've gotten SOFT. To me your staff REPRESENTS your company. I never spoke to ANYONE else @ HIGH TIDE AUTO but ANNIE. HIGH TIDE AUTO could be a good company but from my experience I couldn't GRADE them ANY LOWER...YELP didn't provide a "0" STARS option...TODAY WAS THE DAY I WAS TO PICK-UP MY REPLACEMENT RETIREMENT GIFT to MYSELF...

After getting no-where with Hanksters regarding my 1940 Buick I told them I would leave an honest…read morereview. This is a buyer beware and learn from my mistake review. I saw all the pictures, watched the video, facetimed them for a walk around and trusted that what they represented was true. I bought a consignment vehicle as-is, no warranty. I trusted that what they represented was the actual condition of the car. The car arrived without a problem in transportation. It was unloaded after dark by the delivery driver and put into the garage immediately. The first time I started it and let it warm up, coolant started leaking from the radiator overflow. The first time I drove it, it wouldn't go into first or third gear and had a driveline noise. I took it to a very well respected classic car mechanic the next weekend. This guy is a genius and rebuilds and builds from ground up classic cars and hot rods. He looked it over and reported a number of problems. Radiator manifold was cracked, radiator filler neck was bent, transmission was bad and had fresh silicone around top seal from someone going into it recently, sealed drive shaft was bad. Other small ticket items like lights not working, linkage needing adjustment, etc. No big deal. I contacted Hanksters and after going back and forth basically they denied any knowledge of the problems or responsibility, denied it was leaking coolant, said it went into all gears when they drove it. Kind of like they do with all the negative reviews that I have read on them. They told me that I should have come and inspected the car personally, like they tell everyone who leaves a bad review. I told them that due to their reputation, the pictures, video and facetime I thought the car was good and that I trusted their representation of the car. My mistake. I was told that it was a consignment vehicle and carries no warranty, they do not inspect them, they basically get them and resell them. I was told that they drove the car 3 miles just to make the video. The video says runs well and I was told it shifted into all gears without a problem. I rewatched the video and they did not shift through all the gears, and it was in second gear throughout the whole drive video. I was told I could have paid them $150 for an inspection and maybe these things would have been caught. I informed them that I was not offered an inspection and would have gladly done that if I had known it was an option. I asked them to at least accept some responsibility and help me cover the cost of the problems. They said no. I asked them to contact the seller and ask to help cover them and seller said no. I told them that I would leave an honest review but "it could have been a positive review with "received the vehicle with some undisclosed problems, and Hanksters did the right thing and helped me fix those". The response I received was "No thank you, I do not do well with blackmail..... leave your review and I will respond to it and we can both move on". Rich told me the moral of the story is "Do not buy an 86 year old car without checking it out for yourself". I responded that the moral of my story is "EVEN IF A BUSINESS HAS A GOOD REPUTATION YOU SHOULD STILL HAVE A VEHICLE INSPECTED BY AN INDEPENDENT PERSON BECAUSE YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT IS NOT DISCLOSED". My bad on all accounts and lesson learned. So much for online reputations. One thing that I noticed was that all the negative reviews had the same theme, undisclosed problems. I also noticed the same response to from Hanksters, "didn't do this while we had it, not our problem", and denying any responsibility. They could have done better in my situation but chose not to. Trust is earned and Hanksters should not be trusted to fully and honestly represent a vehicle. Make sure you have any vehicle inspected by an independent inspector.

I want to take this time to share my recent experience at Jon Hall Chevrolet…read more I've been shopping for a Colorado for quite some time now. I was messaging dealerships even the far ones. I got a quote from a dealership in Panama City which I thought was pretty good. I saw a similar truck at Jon Hall's inventory so I hit them up. I was directed to Allan, who was super helpful and quick to respond. After doing the numbers, he beat the other dealership's number by $200/m!!! I told him I'll take the deal. I drove the following day from Miami to Daytona. I have to be honest, I was a little skeptical at the beginning coz I had my fair share of experience with different dealerships where the price changes as soon as you get there. But not this one, they honor the price as is. A lady briefly and nicely offered me the protection package, but in no point pressured me on getting it which is a first in my experience, and I thought that was also a positive. I was then brought over to the finance manager to sign the papers, and that too was an excellent experience, friendly and quick process. Overall, this dealership is amazing. No BS, unlike most dealerships. I would give more than 5 stars if I can. The 8 hr drive back and forth was well worth and I would gladly do it again. In fact, I might be picking up another vehicle soon. If you're shopping for a new or used vehicle, don't hesitate. Hit up Allan and I guarantee he'll hook you up. Each visit has been a waste of time. I was told the sensor was replaced, but less than 24 hours later, the exact same warning signal came back on. This clearly shows the problem was never properly diagnosed or fixed. What's even more frustrating is the lack of accountability. Despite being under warranty, they seem unwilling to fully repair the issue or take the time to ensure it's actually resolved. Instead, I keep getting sent away with the same unresolved problem. This has been incredibly frustrating and inconvenient, especially when dealing with something related to vehicle safety. I expected better service, communication, and follow-through. I would not recommend this dealership if you're relying on them for warranty repairs.
