After getting no-where with Hanksters regarding my 1940 Buick I told them I would leave an honest…read morereview. This is a buyer beware and learn from my mistake review. I saw all the pictures, watched the video, facetimed them for a walk around and trusted that what they represented was true. I bought a consignment vehicle as-is, no warranty. I trusted that what they represented was the actual condition of the car. The car arrived without a problem in transportation. It was unloaded after dark by the delivery driver and put into the garage immediately. The first time I started it and let it warm up, coolant started leaking from the radiator overflow. The first time I drove it, it wouldn't go into first or third gear and had a driveline noise. I took it to a very well respected classic car mechanic the next weekend. This guy is a genius and rebuilds and builds from ground up classic cars and hot rods. He looked it over and reported a number of problems. Radiator manifold was cracked, radiator filler neck was bent, transmission was bad and had fresh silicone around top seal from someone going into it recently, sealed drive shaft was bad. Other small ticket items like lights not working, linkage needing adjustment, etc. No big deal. I contacted Hanksters and after going back and forth basically they denied any knowledge of the problems or responsibility, denied it was leaking coolant, said it went into all gears when they drove it. Kind of like they do with all the negative reviews that I have read on them. They told me that I should have come and inspected the car personally, like they tell everyone who leaves a bad review. I told them that due to their reputation, the pictures, video and facetime I thought the car was good and that I trusted their representation of the car. My mistake. I was told that it was a consignment vehicle and carries no warranty, they do not inspect them, they basically get them and resell them. I was told that they drove the car 3 miles just to make the video. The video says runs well and I was told it shifted into all gears without a problem. I rewatched the video and they did not shift through all the gears, and it was in second gear throughout the whole drive video. I was told I could have paid them $150 for an inspection and maybe these things would have been caught. I informed them that I was not offered an inspection and would have gladly done that if I had known it was an option. I asked them to at least accept some responsibility and help me cover the cost of the problems. They said no. I asked them to contact the seller and ask to help cover them and seller said no. I told them that I would leave an honest review but "it could have been a positive review with "received the vehicle with some undisclosed problems, and Hanksters did the right thing and helped me fix those". The response I received was "No thank you, I do not do well with blackmail..... leave your review and I will respond to it and we can both move on". Rich told me the moral of the story is "Do not buy an 86 year old car without checking it out for yourself". I responded that the moral of my story is "EVEN IF A BUSINESS HAS A GOOD REPUTATION YOU SHOULD STILL HAVE A VEHICLE INSPECTED BY AN INDEPENDENT PERSON BECAUSE YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT IS NOT DISCLOSED". My bad on all accounts and lesson learned. So much for online reputations. One thing that I noticed was that all the negative reviews had the same theme, undisclosed problems. I also noticed the same response to from Hanksters, "didn't do this while we had it, not our problem", and denying any responsibility. They could have done better in my situation but chose not to. Trust is earned and Hanksters should not be trusted to fully and honestly represent a vehicle. Make sure you have any vehicle inspected by an independent inspector.

We recently bought a used car from Jon Hall Chevrolet on Nova Road in Daytona Beach, and it was the…read moremost pleasant car buying experience of our lives. We are senior citizens and have bought more than 16 vehicles from dealerships. From the moment we arrived and were greeted by Chappell "Chap" Goodroe through the signing of the paperwork, everyone was cheerful and positive. Our trade in value was just what we expected and the purchase price of our vehicle was reasonably discounted. After sale care has been excellent, as we needed a couple of things addressed. "Chappy" has been very quick to respond to our texts and addressed all of our concerns quickly and professionally. If you are thinking about a used car, do yourself a favor and go see "Chappy" at Jon Hall Chevrolet - you won't be disappointed.

Each visit has been a waste of time. I was told the sensor was replaced, but less than 24 hours later, the exact same warning signal came back on. This clearly shows the problem was never properly diagnosed or fixed. What's even more frustrating is the lack of accountability. Despite being under warranty, they seem unwilling to fully repair the issue or take the time to ensure it's actually resolved. Instead, I keep getting sent away with the same unresolved problem. This has been incredibly frustrating and inconvenient, especially when dealing with something related to vehicle safety. I expected better service, communication, and follow-through. I would not recommend this dealership if you're relying on them for warranty repairs.
