If Yelp reviews had headlines, this one would be titled "Rats, need I say more?". Isis oasis lodge and sanctuary is in a secluded location, about 15 minutes from the nearest town. It's beautiful and very quiet here (with the exception of the chickens crowing). They have a clean pool and pretty rooms. However. The group I was with had multiple complaints. My room had no smoke detector (just a bunch of wires hanging out of the wall). The upstairs room (it's sort of dorm style with 12 beds in an open space) had a RAT running around. Most rooms' shades did not block light that streamed in from the fairy lights outside. Many rooms, even with shades closed, were visible from the pool deck. The lock to my door was very difficult to turn. There were several large-spider complaints. Two outlets close to my provided bed did not work; this was a common theme across all rooms. The microwave was FILTHY when we arrived. The floor in my room was clean but under the desk, bed, and other furniture was extremely dusty. The animals as well didn't seem super happy. The bird enclosures especially seem quite small (like not enough space to even fly), and some of the birds were screaming very loudly all night long. Also, terrible spot for any disabled person. The bed was high up. The bathrooms downstairs aren't disability accessible (only upstairs; no elevator). The paths are uneven and not well kept. The wifi is not reliable, but could be a nice place for a secluded retreat (as long as you don't need to bring food-- no fridge or kitchen). I can't speak to value since it wasn't on my dime!

a wonderful place of prayer! Very pure energy in every piece of this place! It would seem, where? In California? Mother of God ISIS! I admire the creators of this holy place!

We came in 5/2023 This place reminds me of a hostal. The big house we stayed in was old old school vibes. There's communal bathrooms and showers. The pool wasn't cleaned the first night but it was the next day. Hot tub was open. Sauna was closed. We enjoyed our stay. It was next to a tasting room and some restaurant. The place does need a bit of extra love. A bit to many spider webs and long grass by pool side.

I did not touched YELP for years ... but for that place I leave a review ! Incredible find. pure goodness from every millimeter of this area. I thank the walls of this house for peace of mind and peace. I don't remember when I got so much sleep? People do not judge strictly, support this unique place. Animals are cute and wonderful, tear welling up, these cute creatures were abandoned and found a home here. The walls are imbued with peace and quiet. The spirit of peace is everywhere... I am very, very grateful. And I'm coming back very soon... Thank you so much for everything, and please forgive all that people that lying and trying to hurt you through the bad reviews! God bless you and your beloved ones !

I recently attended a weekend wedding here and loved it! Yeah, it's rustic and not luxurious but I found it comfortable. My room was clean and serene. Be advised, there are spiders and such but that is to be expected out in the country. What really stood out to me, besides the hospitality, was the food....such glorious, abundant and healthy food prepared by the lovely & sweet Linda and her husband (Tony, I think his name is)! Fluffy frittatas, juicy chicken and the most amazing mashed potatoes made with olive oil. The collard greens were the best I've ever had! I'm still thinking about the food! They were very accommodating to those of us with food sensitivities and gluten intolerant. This is a great place to unwind, breathe deep and get in touch with yourself, others and nature. I spent the whole weekend just having long luxurious talks with all the other guests. It was nice to get away from our phones. I would come back here in a heartbeat!

Isis is a revered Egyptian Goddess, a nurturer, a healer, and a wise goddess. The Isis Oasis Lodge/Sanctuary is dedicated to her. My husband and I stayed here just two weeks ago on my first trip to Northern California. We had come up for the Neil Gaiman reading in nearby Santa Rosa, and found this spot through Air BNB. We booked in to the gingerbread house, and only after we booked, drove 9 1/2 hours, and pulled onto the property did I realize what a treat we were in store for. The location is just lovely. Some of the buildings are a little worn down, but the place is overall kept up very well. We had a little trouble finding the office to check in, but once we did, we were greeted by Justin and given a map, our keys, and a tour. While on the tour, Justin told us about the history of the place, and how it currently is a resort, a spiritual retreat, a safe haven for people in need of assistance, and an animal sanctuary. We were able to see some of the beautiful birds, but sadly we didn't get to see the cats. Next time. The gingerbread house was exactly as advertised and as I'd imagined it: an adorable tiny house with a bed, a bedside table, a fan, and a small heater. The outdoor shower and bathrooms (flushables) were a short walk away. We were right next to the Hobbit Hut, and shared a picnic table common area with another lovely couple. (who were also there to see Neil!) The bed in the gingerbread house is big enough for two. It wasn't the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on, but it was comfortable enough that we both were able to sleep soundly, and wake up feeling rested. *small note: There were a handful of spiders in the gingerbread house. They were "daddy long legs" and completely harmless. This place IS in the middle of the woods, so you are likely going to see some bugs. This is really more of a "glamping" resort rather than a hotel. Just keep that in mind. It didn't detract from our experience at all. Having never camped before, the outdoor shower was an experience to say the least!! But the water was heated, and it was exhilarating. They have a small temple/sanctuary set up for Isis. I went and payed my respects and had a brief moment of meditation on Sunday morning before we left. In the center of the property, they have a tree, I believe they called the heritage tree, that is over 600 years old. It was magnificent. All in all, this was a lovely experience. I was sad that we didn't have more time to spend there. Thank you to all the staff.

Big rats' nest on the top of parrot's cage on the front of the property. Shameful.

This place is repulsive. We stayed in the "nicest" place on the whole property (small 1 bedroom cabin). The other options are a dormitory, hobbit huts (not kidding), and camping in your own tents. It was extremely outdated, had cob webs and spiders throughout, including in the shower, and had rat droppings on the dishes in the kitchen cabinets. It gets worse. Much worse. There were dozens of permanent tents and RVs sprinkled all over the property. It was obvious that the tents have been there for years with junk and permanent fixtures everywhere. It looks like a homeless camp. I later learned it's because people can live there full time for free as long as they volunteer a set amount of hours per week. You can't tell who works there and who doesn't because "staff" wear plain clothes. I can deal with all of the above - what I cannot tolerate is the living condition for all of the exotic animals on site. It's inhumane. The cages (with the exception of the llamas) were too small and didn't allow the animals to move around and exercise. And there was an epic rat infestation. I counted 10 rats in just one bird cage, 8 in another. I also checked on the parrots around 1pm and their food bowls were empty and found they hadn't been fed breakfast by the staff yet! I mentioned what I saw to the lady that was working in the lodge and she said the birds are only fed once a day because of the rat problems, and that they've tried several things to get rid of the rats but haven't been successful - she acknowledged that it's an epidemic. If the staff can't fix it, then they should not be allowed to keep animals onsite. Period. This place should be shut down. If you care at all about the health and well-being of animals, please do not support this place.

This is one of my fave places in the world. So many magical moments here over the last 15 plus years. Most of the best North Bay events I have attended were at the lodge. They recently took me in as I had to evacuate from yet another Santa Rosa fire. Thanks Justin. Love the animals. Love the people. Love the sacred grounds and the theater/temple. Love the intention. Hope to maybe live here some day...

THIS. Is not legal, not okay, and not worth $110/night. I'm lucky to be alive with this rain and illegal ass broke ass wiring.

They somehow surpassed all expectations and hopes for our wedding. Let me start with the venue. I knew Catelli's would show well for a wedding, but it was truly unbelievable, especially after dark. We held the ceremony in the garden, and it was exactly what we would hope for. Intimate, beautifully decorated, and covered with lush green foliage in every direction. The reception was held on the patio, and was beautiful. We received dozens of comments from those who attended the wedding about how perfect and gorgeous the venue was. From the marble floor, to the wall of green, the beautiful olive trees, the landscape lighting, down to even the bathrooms. No stone has been left unturned at Catelli's. Secondly, the service from the staff and our coordinator were both professional and engaging. They made this day easy for us, which is saying a lot. Even the service and bar staff seemed to be having a good time, which seems like a rarity these days. Finally, the food was top notch. Our hat is off to chef Dominica Catelli. From the charcuterie table, to the appetizers, the main course, and finally the dessert table, every detail was covered perfectly. Our guests made countless comments on the food. For a day that you think about your entire life, we honestly don't know how it could have gone better. Much of that is thanks to Catelli's

The grounds are gorgeous, well kept, and somewhat whimsical. The owners (Karen and Jack) have a great eye for blending their beautiful gardens with the stunning Alexander Valley. Everyone was stunned by the beauty of the location. The property functions brilliantly as a wedding location. We had 125 guests for a ceremony, formal seated dinner, dancing, and a photobooth. There is a large area that is well hidden from the rest of the property that is perfect for catering and event prep work. Note that you have to get clever with catering, because the house kitchen is not to be used for cooking for large crowds. We used a paella caterer, which worked brilliantly. One of the secrets the property holds is the beautiful lighting that appears after dark. There is even a chandelier in a tree! We wouldn't have imagined the property could actually look even more beautiful after dark. The home itself is absolutely gorgeous, and it was such a treat to be able to have our entire immediate family together in one spot for three days. We echo the other reviews regarding the owners. Although a brilliant event space, the property is also Karen and Jack's home, and they expect you to respect it as such. So long as you understand this, everything should go smoothly. There were a couple of bumps between the owners and our wedding planner, but everything worked out in the end. Be sure to ask Karen her ideas if you take a tour. She had some creative insights on how to use the property.

I can't stress that last part enough -- Karen made me feel completely comfortable and welcome from the moment I first stepped foot in her home, to months later when I was constantly stopping by to check out the property and arrange details for my wedding. I often remarked to friends and family that it takes a special person to completely open their home and trust strangers to just take over! (Karen and her husband live at Little House and leave for the weekend to allow wedding parties to stay there.) The result of her warmth and openness was our dream wedding -- an intimate backyard event that felt as though we were getting married at home, without having to deal with the headaches of actually getting married at home. My entire family stayed at Karen's for the weekend of our wedding and I'm so glad they did because it was much more fun and intimate than staying in a hotel -- and made for a lot more fun the night of the wedding as we didn't all have to rush out the moment the reception was over. I've been at weddings where you're practically chased out with sticks when the event ends, but not here... we all lingered and chatted and cherished every moment of the evening! We had absolutely no problems with deposits -- quite the opposite, actually, as we had left some things behind and Karen took care of everything for us. And, having looked at some 50 wedding venues, I can say with complete confidence that Little House is very reasonably priced. I'm totally bummed to see these negative reviews because I absolutely loved Little House and Karen. We've received a ton of compliments on our wedding, and Little House as a venue in particular. I could really go on and on... But I'll finish by saying that I highly recommend Little House, and if you have any questions, please feel free to send me a note via Yelp and I'd be glad to serve as a reference! -- Amy Also... Little House is just beautiful!! But I'll post pictures since I'm out of words!

The restaurant is the building to the left as you enter as well as the museum. We ordered the 3 course menu with wine pairing for what I thought was a great price. I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed the wine pairings. The crab fritter with caviar: 3.5 stars. It was a fried potato ball with minimal crab. The caviar and accompanying sauce is what made the dish. The mushroom risotto: 3 stars. Perhaps it's because I don't care for risotto - too moist for rice. However the flavor was good, albeit a little salty. The mushroom were cooked for perfection and delicious, wish I had more. The salmon with broccolini:3 stars. cooked to order. I like mine well done due to preventions of parasites. But it was still moist. The accompanying sauce did not help flavor much but I guess I could have put more salt. I really enjoy the veggies in the dish. The broccolini was cooked the way I like and the rings of squash were tender and sweet. The hubby got the beef shoulder for his third course:5 stars. Tender and falls apart much like a pot roast. Flavorful as well. Apple tart and ice cream: 4 stars. I actually enjoyed the dish. Not too sweet. You can taste all the flavors and texture.
