This place is really cute. I came here with a friend on a Friday and it was karaoke night (which I dont love) but, it was a good time. The DJ , who was playing a good mix, had a great voice along with two waitresses. The customers who sang definitely had a blast. I dont have any complaints aboug the food, hookah, drinks, food. The place is always one of my happy hour spots because happy hour goes to 8pm instead of 7 like most places. The wings were good and so was the bacalaitos. The only downside is the drinks were watered down. The shots were good especially for happy hour but ofcourse its house only. Actually really love it here! Sooo glad i found this place after having a terrible experience at illusions hookah lounge. ISLA CAFE is my go to spot for hookah & drinks now!!!! Came here 2 sunday nights in a row. There was a dj when i went. The music is always really good upbeat , rap hip hop & spanish music. Crowd was turnt up!! Hookah was hitting good. I always go for a strawberry mojito. I love that certain days hookah is only $10 and top shelf drinks are $7 i feel those prices are great . This place can get crowded though. My only complaint is the service can be slow & can take a while when ordering drinks. Last time i was here me & my girls decided to get bottle service & we ended up having a great night here. I dropped in Sunday night to get a drink and try and catch a quick vibe before calling it a night. I was greeted by this beautiful young women with tattoos everywhere (very much scooping out) and glasses. She asked if I wanted a drink I said I'm not sure first time here. She was so full of vibrant energy she held conversation for 10 minutes solid I guess because she noticed I was by myself. And then through out the 2 hours I stayed kept checking up on me. I told her goodnight thank you for keeping me entertained. I realized I didn't get the name or number. So I came back the following Monday night after work and she was their and greeted me like we were long time friends she's amazing. The bar is nice as well lol great music and cool crowd. Stumbled upon this hidden gem one day after work and I couldn't have been more satisfied. The food was great and the service was even better. Alex might have been one of the best bartenders I've come across in awhile. From the warm welcoming to the excellent recommendations. Chopped cheese empanada are a must get. I've been coming to this bar for years and about 2x a week. My most recent trip, today was a disappointment. Usually there's happy hour throughout the entire cafe. I walked in and they asked would we like to sit at the bar or tables. We said tables because that's where we normally sit. When we ordered our normal drinks without a menu they came. We then asked can we get the happy hour menu to order food, the waitress then told us happy hour was only at the bar, they just changed a day ago and that there's a little sign outside. Being a regular i had no clue, they refused to accommodate the happy hour price, and was like well we just changed it in a nonchalant manner. None of the workers said that when we sat down, or the host at the door. Poor communication!!! read more

Customer service sucks. You wait half and hour to get a drink, mind you place is empty. Food comes out cold and looks like the put certain food on microwave. The food is either really salty or taste like nothing. A lot of ratchet people or people that know employees go there acting loud and crazy. I really like this spot. Happy hour is from 4 to 8 with $5 drink specials. And $5 small plates. After that they have a full menu available till 12. Hookah is only $10 before 8pm and 20 after. Just keep in mind that you pay for the hookah separately and cash only. A live DJ after 8:00 p.m.. A full bar. We had a horrible experience while dining there. The menu was cut short because they were updating it. So, most of the food that they advertised in their website is not available. The location needs repair, I was very disappointed with how the location is set up. One table will have people eating while the other table next to you have people smoking Hookah. I don't want to be around people whom are smoking while I eat. The Food was no were as authentic Puerto Rican food as someone who had just came from visiting the island of Puerto Rico. The appetizers were not good at all, no flavor no taste. The foods is overpriced and the drinks were ok. They add 18% gratuity to ALL parties and the service is HORRIBLE. Our waitress took our order and we never saw her again not even to offer or ask if we needed anything. They do that because they are getting their tip guarantee. Good food and hookah deals on weekdays. There great at little appetizers. Security people are really nice and always on alert. Bartenders are very friendly and always a pleasure to look at. Let me start by saying this establishment just lost 3 customers especially good paying customers. We made a reservation for 3 for the open bar let me start by saying also if you have a full bar why are you also attending tables ? The management here should hire a waitress because we basically had to walk up to the bar to order. After being neglected by the bartender we decided to make the best of the experience because it's a nice place and it's New Year's Eve and we want to have a good time after the ball dropped the bottle girl Chrisie tried kicking us out the table so she can sit people purchasing bottles FIRST OF ALL WE HAVE A RESERVATION WE JUST GOT OUR DRINKS AND HOOKAH AND THE WAY SHE TOLD US WE HAD TO LEAVE WAS VERY RUDE ! Hospitality is about customer service and horrible service and being rude to customers who nearly paid $200 for some small plastic cups of drinks don't deserve that treatment so we get up to go to the bar the bartender told us we can sit back at the table so we were thinking about purchasing a bottle after we were done with our drinks and our $20 hookah that we paid for and never received we had to tell the hookah boy 3 times and he admitted he forgot about us and never brought it nor refunded us. The girl then comes and tells us we have to get up not even knowing we were going to buy bottles not even asking if we were interested or even telling us the bottle specials she just flat out said I need this table you guys have to leave so we stormed out very upset I worked in the industry for years and that is not how you talk to customers and if you have people working who are not attentive people working who forget about you and people working that are rude and accommodating only to their friends and regulars why is this restaurant even open I will be reaching out to corporate because this was by far a horrible experience and something will be done. read more

I usually come here for happy hour being that it's every day but recently the quality has plummeted significantly! The food is not up to par, the guacamole was not fresh it was old and brown and does not taste good, the drinks are not full. I am most disappointed that I ordered my mom her favorite wings with the Thai chili sauce and when she got home told me it was buffalo which not what she likes or could even eat it!
