SoBro Garden definitely gives lit brunch and dinner vibes cute spot with a nice setup for photos and good music. The ambiance was really nice and the staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing. I made reservations for a party of 16 at 3pm to celebrate my niece HS graduation. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. The menu was prefixed with different items to choose from from steak, chicken, salmon pernil and honestly everyone at the table enjoy their dishes.. The food was flavorful, though a few things could've been seasoned or cooked a bit better for my taste(the salmon and pernil) The crack wings & Drinks were definitely on point though. The drinks were fresh and strong. And my niece loved her tiramisu dessert. It's a good spot to meet up with friends, have a casual date night, or just unwind after work. I'd come back again for the drinks, crack wings and the vibe alone.

I have come here twice once for a bridal shower and then recently for dinner. The bridal shower was really nice, they had a pre fix and the staff was very friendly. When I came for dinner we sat at the bar and it was a great time. I can not remember her name but she was really nice and attentive. I ordered the shrimp fried rice and fried pork chunks. My food was really good and the portion was generous. I had two drinks which were really strong they were on happy hour. I would definitely come back and I recommend this place. The food is good and the service was good. The place is also nice and clean. I had a great experience. They also have Puetro Rican hot sauce which was great.

Sobro Garden is a fairly new Puerto Rican spot in the South Bronx alongside other restaurants. One of my girlfriends and I met up for dinner here on Saturday and it was a decent experience from start to finish. The general manager, Kwame met us at the door and brought us to our seat. He was so sweet and inviting to us as new customers and he made sure that we were comfortable. The place is super cute inside and the music was decent too. Only thing is that it was a bit too loud so talking was sometimes a challenge. I ordered the churrasco skirt steak with arroz con gandules (rice with pigeon peas) and it was good (not amazing). The steak could've used a little more salt and chimichurri. It could've been more tender also, but the rice was cooked well. The chocolate lava cake that I ordered for dessert wasn't a true chocolate lava cake as there was just a pool of warm chocolate on top of the cake instead of it oozing out. We were also given samples of the frozen sangria, which was really good!! Our waiter was patient and attentive and the GM was great. They get 5 stars for service in my book. Overall I would return maybe for brunch next time.

Man, some real highs and lows with this spot! Talking through the highs first- I really have to shout out my waitress and the service overall! She was attentive and gave so many helpful suggestions on food and drinks. A truly bubbly personality which made me excited to check out the food. Another highlight was the restaurant in general. I'm always hype to try out a new neighborhood spot and it was encouraging to see this place fairly full on a random weeknight. And lastly, the drinks! I caught the tail end of happy hour and tried the frozen sangria margarita. So delicious and a unique take on two classics! And now for the lows- unfortunately I found my meal to be a bit disappointing. For the table we ordered beef skewers which came with a side of mash potatos. For mains I ordered the oxtail meal while my friend ordered steak and eggs which also came with fries and plantains. Unfortunately I found all three parts of our meal to be lacking flavor. Our steak skewers came out sitting in a pool of bloody juices and the rice that came alongside my oxtails were undercooked. I'm hoping we just happened to catch this place on an off night! I love seeing the businesses in this community thrive so I'm excited to give this place another go sometime soon!

It is hard to get a five star rating out of me, but man this place worked hard and went above and beyond to get it. I wanted to celebrate my best-friend's 40th birthday here and I called this place a couple of times asking for information and ways we could make it special. The staff assured me everything would be fine and they delivered . Our reservations were for 5:30p they were ok with us bringing a cake and some small decorations like flowers and balloons for the birthday earlier than out reservations. We were greeted by Ms Ariel and she helped us set it up for us while we left to pick up my best friend. Ariel understood the assignment and made it amazing thank you so much. My best friend is a hard working single mom of 3 who would give you the shirt off her back if it meant helping you. So this was important to me to make her feel loved and special since she always goes above and beyond for everyone else. We got there they she was surprised we weren't rushed it was amazing and the staff was lovely and friendly the place is beautiful nice and clean. The most important thing you're here to read, how was the food? Well each dish was quite delicious very delightful & full of flavor and it was also very decadent. The food was well made with love tenderness and you could taste it in every bite. I want to thank the staff for making my best friends birthday so special and an extra thank you to Ms Ariel again, she went above and beyond for us and worked really hard to help us out thank you again I highly recommend this place and if you get Ms Ariel you'll have a wonderful time this establishment is lucky to have her as an employee.

This is a low key vibey Puerto Rican spot that is conveniently open late on weeknights, perfect to grab food and drinks after a Yankees game. The dim lit tropical ambiance is inviting with floral decor and stylish white dining chairs. The service is friendly and attentive. The chicharron de pollo and the arroz con gandules were delicious and hit the spot. The drinks including the lychee martini and soursop mojito were expertly crafted and strong.

Omg this place was sooo goood. We had such a good experience here. The service was also great. We had a handful of plates and all were delicious. From the paella to the steak and eggs and you cannot forget to order the plátano frito ! Yumm. Wish they had one of these in Texas.

Came here on a random night. I as greeted by the host and was told we could sit anywhere. My first impression was that the place gave off a neighborly vibe. The waitress who served us was soo friendly and engaging. I regret not getting her name but she was slim and had a French bob hairstyle. If only for the service I would visit this place again. The food unfortunately did not match up to the wonderful front of house service. The food lacked butter, salt, and a bit of other spices. The food was cooked well but lacked overall flavor. Know for the drinks- they were tasty and definitely strong. I would recommend coming here for happy hour if you're looking for a good time.

Alright. So this is my official review for La Fonda -- the restaurant I told y'all is connected to…read moreAbuelita's Desserts. Same location, same love, same culture. First of all, sometimes I don't even realize how Puerto Rican I am until it's time to eat. And then it hits me. Heavy. If you know, you know. My mom and I had been low-key grieving this old Chinito Spanish spot on 116th that we grew up on. That place was a staple. Birthdays, celebrations, random Sundays -- we were there. And the chuletas? Elite. The Spanish food was honestly better than the Chinese food, and it was that beautiful cultural fusion that only East Harlem really understands. Asian families who lived in Puerto Rico, speaking Spanish, cooking with that blend of spices -- it was magic. When it closed, it felt like we lost a piece of home. So ever since, we've been like... where are we getting our chuletas now? And let me explain something very clearly: when it comes to a Rican and her chuletas, we do not play games. Don't tell me you make a good pork chop and then serve me something dry or bland. No ma'am. I'm looking for: * That crisp but tender edge. * The smell that hits you before the plate even lands. * The cebolla on top. * The juices already doing what they need to do so I don't have to add a single thing. * That perfect bite when the rice and chuleta meet on the fork. So when we saw La Fonda attached to Abuelita's, we were curious. A guy inside was recommending dishes, saying he comes all the time for lunch. My mom spots "chuletas" on the menu and immediately says, "Let's try it." And I'm nervous. Because what if it's not right? What if it's breaded? I didn't want breaded. I just wanted it fried. Simple. Classic. Done correctly. Baby. When I tell you I was NOT disappointed? I have found my new chuleta spot. Perfectly fried. Flavorful. Juicy. That bite with the rice? Exactly what I've been missing. You can choose your rice. My mom got yellow rice with red beans. I asked for the rice of the day -- and listen, that rice of the day was a moment. Yellow rice mixed with little pieces of chicharrón, some plátano in there, beans -- just layered with flavor. That's the kind of rice you don't leave behind. My mom also ordered the corn fritters. Did I taste them? No. Because she tore them down before I could blink. And when my mom goes quiet and just wolfs her plate? I already know it's good. The ambiance? Beautiful. The bar area feels very Puerto Rican -- colorful, warm, nostalgic. On the other side, there's spacious seating if you want to dine in properly. It's quaint but roomy. Comfortable. It feels like somewhere you can celebrate something or just come in on a random Tuesday because you need good food. And the food? Delicious. Period. If you're looking for authentic Puerto Rican food in East Harlem that actually hits the way it's supposed to hit, go to La Fonda. Try it. Get the chuletas (trust me). And then come back and tell me what you think. Because these spots? They have my heart.
