Even the bathroom was clean( bathrooms tend to be indicators of establishments and the men's bathroom was clean). I did not expect this spot to be so on point and was pleasantly surprised. Minus it being a very small and packed space, it was cool. It did take almost 15-20 minutes to wave the bartender down. We had to solicit help of other people. I'm a little reluctant to rate the place given the fact that I went there with a bunch of friends and they bought pitchers of Jamaican rum punch. The rum punch was delicious and believe me they did not hold back on the rum. We were a party of 8 so we basically had run of the space. We had a great time. I noticed there was quite an overage females and not many men at this place aside from my group. I believe there was only one other man in the whole joint. The wings were decent. A good spot if you are looking for a night out in the Bronx and closes at 12 midnight. Not a good first date restaurant but it's great for date nights, happy hour and birthday parties. Security is at door which is cool they are usually friendly and easy going. When you first walk in the music is blasting and the ambiance is party like and inviting, defiantly a vibe. The club itself is small but cute. Be prepared to be asked multiple questions as soon as u walk in. We didn't make a reservation so that's probably why. The bartender with blonde braids was attentive and nice. I ordered the pasta and honestly it wasn't good. It was supposed to be Rasta pasta, but it was watery. After three forks, I stopped eating it. The bartender was attentive and noticed my displeasure. She asked to take my food away so they can remake it. I had the Henny punch which was good. I came home and tried to eat the remade pasta and it was worse then first. This didn't have enough sauce. I could see the cheese and taste it. Rasta sauce should be a smooth consistency. I went over the weekend to celebrate a friend's birthday. I was really surprised at how cute their outside area was hooked up in the back. It had kind of like a jungle theme. It was cute and spacious. We had finger foods, and it was decent. The drinks were okay. The staff was super friendly and, most of the time, wore a mask. It was enforced when you walked through to get to the back or restrooms. They had a DJ that played good music. It was nice to hear a DJ play music being that since COVID clubs & lounges are closed. I was very pleasantly surprised. And for the ladies who want a space to do selfies in the mirror, they got you! Lol 3). The crowd was fantastic! No pushy guys, everyone was dressed nicely... it was nice to see grown people look like grown people!!! Felt like I was in a video shoot. Lol. And I felt SAFE! No worries about drama or anything. 4). The Kutty is classy and I have enjoyed myself each time I have been. They carry all the top shelf liquor I like at reasonable prices and they are expanding their food menu which is great! I remember visiting this location several years ago when it was Gasolina. The Kutty definitely brings in a different crowd. I love the ambiance here. The steak melted in my mouth, the mashed potatoes and creamy spinach was amazing, and the crab cake was yummy. HOWEVER, the management needs to improve on their process of moving from the back garden area to the main area needs to improve. I know they are known for drinks but let me tell you something the skirt steak mashed potatoes and asparagus that I just had was probably the best meal I've had in the last two months. Amazing dish. It was delivered very fast and the presentation of the food when I open the box was pristine. They may need to start concentrating more on the food. Bad business practices!! I came in on a Saturday night at approximately 9:30. Ordered two entrees , a drink and a round of shots for me and my friends. By 10:00 my food was in front of me but so was security. Security told me I had to give up my seat at the bar because after 10 it's considered a club. How the hell am I supposed to consume food and beverage standing up at the bar?!?! And it wasn't finger food, it was a full entree. Meanwhile there's a huge unnecessary table in the middle of the establishment reserved strictly for hookah smokers with ample seating who can continue to smoke without being bothered by security. Security said the seats at the bar take up space. How does hookah take precedent over food and drink?!? My bartender understood my frustration and said she has this conversation constantly with customers and I'm not the only one that has this complaint. It makes no sense that you can sit down and smoke hookah unbothered but can't consume food and/or liquor seated at the bar like a normal human being. And it wasn't even crowded enough to remove seating! Security hovered over me while I ate to ensure they removed my seat from the bar. Fuck Kutty! read more
