Stop by and take a look. My three paintings are hanging on the wall. Thank you for the love and the delicious food over the years.

The best food on the upper East side. Stop by and enjoy the different dishes. You will not be disappointed. They are open Monday -Saturday, for lunch and dinner. I really enjoy everything. Please read my first review, it hasn't changed. There are days, I don't cook! The owner would says, Hello, with a smile. How are you? And I say " HUNGRY ." LOL Thank you, ISLAND BITES

Curry goat, black rice, sweet plantains, potato salad.

Soooooooooo this amazingly delicious gem came across my attention recently. I've been to this location three times in a week and without hesitation I'd make it my absolute go to all the time. Came after work last week and asked for curry goat, black rice, plantain and oxtail gravy on the rice alongside some potato salad. All I can say is that after having that entire order in one sitting, I was out like a bear . Brought two of my friends to this location Immediately! Warm hospitality by the gentleman in the front. Great place in East Harlem.

Food is horrible! Oxtails taste like beef jerky dry as hell my mans curry goat was dry and still was very under cooked and rice taste like boxed rice and the yam just taste like boiled sweet potatoes with cinnamon! My man and I wasted $50 here ! I wouldn't even give this to a dog. Got to do better especially when people use the hard earned money !

I ordered the large oxtail meal with cabbage rice and peas and plantains, the plantains were really good but for $26 (I got it delivered but still) it was definitely not worth what they gave me. And the oxtails had a taste to them that I couldn't get over

    Small Jerk Chicken Meal

Good flavor but VERY small portions. Got the jerk chicken w/ steamed cabbage for $7.62 after tax.

I ordered a beef patty and this arrived. With my ehes closed i wouldnt know what this was

I did not enjoy anything from this restaurant. I was excited to try a different eatery and was highly disappointed. The oxtails tasted spoiled and whatever seasoning or spice used to possibly enhance flavor only backfired. I can barely describe the flavor. Unlike any oxtails i've had before. The patty was stale and flavorless. The meat inside was not appetizing in the least.

Best rice, beans and plantains I've ever had.

The restaurant was packed, so we waited about 10 to 15 minutes, even with a reservation. Thankfully, it was a beautiful day. Once seated, we ordered a few drinks. My Strawberry Basil Lemonade was refreshing and their Virgin Pina Colada with Strawberry was perfect. Our waitress, Queen, recommended a few items, and they were a hit. The Coconut Shrimp were crispy and flavorful, and the sweet chili dipping sauce complemented them well. I was nervous that the Jerk Chicken was going to be too salty, but the seasoning was outstanding. The spice level was fine, not too spicy at all. And the Coconut Rice & Peas were great. I'd happily return and recommend this spot to family and friends.

There were only 2 other parties seated and we were seated immediately upon arrival. It's fairly dark inside and the decor reminds me a bit of New Orleans. I enjoyed the ambiance. We had the mussels for an appetizer, lamb chops and bass. EVERYTHING was excellent! The flavor of the broth for the mussels was Devine, so much so my husband used his bread to sop up all he could. The bass had great flavor and came with sautéed spinach that was well cooked. It initially looked like a small portion but turned out to be plenty. A Broadway matinee and good food? Say less…read more We booked our table through OpenTable, and from start to finish, the experience was seamless. Once we arrived, we were seated right away, and the service was exceptional. The staff was warm, attentive, and made sure everything flowed smoothly without ever making us feel rushed--which is exactly what you want when you're on a theater schedule. We decided to do Havana Central's Pre-Theater Menu before catching our afternoon show, and honestly, it might be one of the best values in the Theater District. We started with the empanadas, and they were the perfect way to kick off the meal. The outside was golden and crispy, while the filling was hot, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. For my entrée, I ordered the salmon, and whew... cooked to perfection. The seasoning reached every taste bud without ever being overpowering. The mango salsa was bright, fresh, and just tangy enough to complement the salmon beautifully. Paired with the rice and beans, every bite felt balanced, layered, and satisfying while still being light enough that I didn't feel overly full before heading to the theater. And then came dessert--the flan. Smooth, silky, and rich without being too heavy. It had that perfect melt-in-your-mouth texture with a delicious caramel finish that was the sweetest way to end the meal. From the beautiful atmosphere to the attentive service and thoughtfully prepared food, Havana Central made our Broadway day even better. If you're looking for a pre-show restaurant that delivers on flavor, hospitality, and value, this is it.

Walked into Margon Restaurant in Midtown and instantly felt like I found one of NYC's secret cheat codes. Small space, big flavors, zero nonsense. The kind of place where you're elbow-to-elbow with strangers but everyone's united by one thing... serious hunger. Ordered the Cuban sandwich -- pressed, crispy, loaded with roast pork, glazed ham, Swiss, pickles, and mustard. One bite in and I stopped talking... which never happens. This thing didn't just deliver... it showed up early and over-prepared. Then came La Bandera Dominicana Braised beef swimming in savory gravy, yellow rice piled like a mountain, black beans doing their thing, and sweet maduros sitting on top like the victory flag. Simple. Comforting. Dangerous... because now I want it every week. Place gets busy, gets loud, gets chaotic... but it moves like a well-oiled machine. Years of experience and zero attitude. Just good people making great food. In a neighborhood full of tourist traps, this hole-in-the-wall is throwing haymakers. Sometimes the best escape in NYC isn't a rooftop...
