This was a pleasant surprise. I had just come back from Jamaica the previous week and really craved eating the food again. I got the sampler and it didn't disappoint. I think I'd go again but really wish callaloo was on the menu.

Prices have returned to normal and I have returned a few more times (especially after the disappointment at Jerk House) The Jamaican spice and flavours are better here at Grand even though it's pricey It's worth it. Plus, they have Beef Patties and excellent Cole Slaw and - Escovitch Red Snapper - Cod Fritters - Jerk Chicken - Oxtail Stew with Rice and Peas cooked properly Enjoy! Thank you

Quiet (but good music ) little Jamaican place. Food was great! Portion size was not bad! Staff were friendly and food was delicious. We always had their jerk chicken and oxtail but this time we realized their red snapper and pasta was good too!

Came here for the boss' birthday. All 6 of us were not disappointed! The restaurant is beautiful, nice long bar with mirrored bottle shelving. A few comfortable tables and can also have the intimate feel. There was an upstairs; but I did not see it. I have had enough Jamaican food to say --This is some of the best! The beef patties are hot and flaky. You can tell the pastry was made with care. The beef had the perfect heat and you could tell it was beef... The coco bread -- heavenly. It was like a pillow of deliciousness. Everything else, well there was "Damn this is good" heard all around the table. The service was just as good as the food! Our waitress was super friendly and professional. She went over the menu and any questions we had. Looked like they might have been short staffed and the service didn't miss a beat. I will be back!!

We dined here for Mother's Day and had an enjoyable experience. The restaurant was not very packed but glad we made a reservation just in case. The hostess, Sidonie, was pleasant and very hospitable. To our surprise she was also our server and took us upstairs. The restaurant had lovely decorations for Mother's Day. It also had a special Mother's day menu and realized that the prices were almost double the normal prices. But since it was a special day menu we went along with it. For starters, we had the cod fish fritters. They came out fast but were not fresh. I had the seafood medley for my main course choice. My companions had the Oxtail dish and the Curry goat. The Oxtail was the best. The Curry goat dish had the largest portion. After induling in each dish I craved some desert and ordered the Carrot cake to go. The aroma of the rum was so strong that I tried some before taking it home and really loved it. Honestly the Carrot cake was the highlight for me. Besides the food and service we really loved the ambiance. The old school and new school Reggae playing added to the vibe. The color palate of tan, peach, and blush tones added a nice touch. Further, the booth seats and the Jamaica coat of arms in the same color scheme all worked well together.

Cozy spot, with a welcoming and friendly staff. Food was very tasty, so I wouldn't mind trying out some other items next time I'm around the area. Decent pricing, considering it's Manhattan.

Super cute restaurant. I was in the mood for Jamaican during my trip to NYC and was happy to find this place while in the city, since I wasn't going to Brooklyn! Service was amazing and food was good. I'd ask for more sauce on my salmon next time!

Drink side of menu. Psst get the rum punch.

I came here last Friday, March 28th and here it's Tuesday and I am still thinking about this place. I came here for a work dinner with a few co-workers at their recommendation and boy it did not disappoint. We were seated upstairs and it felt private yet open. It was definitely a major shoutout to Jamaica which is one of my fav places on earth. The coat of arms, tropical vibe, music etc. The hospitality at this place reminded me of every time I've been to Jamaica. Now to the good stuff: Food 10/10-appetizers and entrees Hospitality 10/10 Drinks off the charts. My colleagues and I had 3 each. Desserts 10/10 I loved how clean everything was from the seatings to the bathroom. I can't wait to see them again especially in the summertime. If you're ever in midtown near Grand Central Terminal in NYC run do not walk here. It will not disappoint . Trust

Jumieka Grand is a great place to enjoy Jamaican and Caribbean food with gracious hospitality and a clean well designed interior. The bar is along the left wall and the high top seating is on the right side as you go toward the back. A flat screen or two is behind the bar. You are greeted upon entry and are made to feel at home, which seems to attract regulars as far as I can tell. I was immediately seated with no reservation and Shawna (sp?) graciously took my order accurately and efficiently. Tonight it would be curry goat, which comes with rice and vegetables, string beans and carrots strips. They do not bring bread or fritters to start, but my meal is served within a short ten or fifteen minutes at this early evening time. The curry goat with potatoes in its savory gravy is tender, flavorful and savory. My only issue is that for $30, there should be more goat. There will be bones left that further underscore this issue. However, the goat itself is as good and flavorful, with all the savory qualities that the potatoes and well prepared rice absorb and with which the goat in its savory gravy pairs so very well. The string beans and carrots are not overcooked and the carrots add color and sweetness in their steamed state. I added the chicken and beef patties to my order afterwards, given my appetite was not quite satisfied. I requested some oxtail gravy over the patties as well. An order of patties is two triangle shaped patties per order at seven bucks, served with a garnish of a few mango chunks, a halved grape tomato and kale. Surprisingly, the flavor of the chicken patties came through over the beef patties. Definitely request the oxtail or curry gravy over the patties. Either my appetite was on full tilt this Friday evening or the portions need to be bumped up for the prices here. I ate the garnish too, so I am left with the impression it is the latter. Inflation has taken hold at many restaurants, but there are several steakhouses in the vicinity that have daily specials in this same price range. My total here before tip was $47 and change. I only drank water tonight. Jumieka Grand is a very nice restaurant and the staff is clearly making the hospitable effort. The quality of the food is excellent and it is kept clean. 3.8 stars!

RUN HERE! While looking for a place to watch the game my friends and I stumbled on this Hidden Gem!! We walked in, took a look at the menu, we were impressed but we walked out and went to the spot we originally had intended. On our way to that spot, we all looked at each other and was like nahh that menu was fire we need to go back! The best decision we ever made....so let's get into it... Ricky is your guy! Ask for him - he will make sure you are good!! He likes the place hott haha so if you feel the heat blasting just ask him to turn it down likkle bit LOL Couldn't decide between the rum punch and the coconut rum punch he allowed me to taste both and I went with the coconut which is a surprise because I don't go for that creamy taste but it is soooo delicious! I highly recommend ! You know yu in an authentic Yaad spot when you have both tings - pink grapefruit on deck!! Dem have Shandy and Guinness (Extra Stout) =) Food wise you can't go wrong! We loaded up on the menu! Codfish Fritters - Perfection Salmon Crabcake - PERFECTION Jerk Bbq Wings - Standard Seafood Medly - Perfection Snapper - Perfection Oxtail - Perfection (I got it with mashed white yam- which is not a typical menu item. It was Ricky's recommendation and OMG GET IT!!! They also have an incredible addition upstairs to have a private event! I was blown away! You would never guess that all that space is upstairs! I can't wait to come back!

Authentic Jamaican flavors! The service was great and friendly. It's a casual place with good ambiance, good place for a date night or family dinner. Seems they have a back room that could be nice for a party.

Can I give more stars? I was skeptical of this place because no one was in there for dinner service during to the fact they haven't been open that long. I ordered the oxtails with a side of plantains and they were amazing, brought me back to Jamaica. The coco bread was not mass in house but it was still good. My friend got the ox tail Rasta pasta and it was so good. Must try and definitely will be back.

I came here to throw down on some seafood and that's exactly what we did. I found out about this place because one of my favorite TikTok foodies posted that she came here when she was visiting from Chicago. It was also my friend's birthday so we figured we'd check it out. If you come with a group of 4 or more, including the birthday person, they eat for free, which is a pretty nice perk. This place lived up to every bit of the hype. We did the $125 option which includes lobster. If you have people in your group who are on the fence about spending the extra money, just remind them it's only about $35 more and that's basically the cost of one lobster anywhere else. Here you're getting unlimited lobster. The food literally just kept coming. At one point we were running out of room on the table. One thing I really appreciated was that the staff noticed and started putting multiple items on the same plates instead of bringing everything out separately. It sounds small but it actually helped a lot and showed they were paying attention. The drinks weren't super strong but they definitely weren't weak either. If you love seafood, come hungry and bring a group. The vibes were great, the service was on point, and we left absolutely stuffed.

It's honestly a seafood lover's dream. I highly recommend coming with a large group so you can try a bit of everything. The service was impeccable from start to finish. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made the whole experience even better. I would definitely come back and highly recommend this place to others.

The flavors in the Manila clams were still a 10/10, but I was disappointed by the portion this time. I had more empty shells in my bowl than clams with meat! I'm not usually one to complain, but I honestly should have said something. The coconut crab curry, however, knocked it out of the park as always. The flavor is out of this world, and the succulent lumps of crabmeat practically melt in your mouth. Pro tip: If you order both dishes, mix a little of the sweet basil clam sauce into the coconut crab curry. The combination is incredible! The Tongue & Cheek cocktail was divine mildly sweet, refreshing, and incredibly smooth, with a velvety texture from the egg white. Service was mixed this particular evening. The host came across as a bit rude and seemed to have an attitude, but thankfully, my bartender was attentive, knowledgeable, and accommodating throughout the night. Despite a couple of misses, Fish Cheeks remains one of my favorites for its bold flavors, beautiful atmosphere, and consistently unforgettable coconut crab curry.

Ambiance: This place has a nice ambiance, definitely very "New York" -- dark (you can't see how dirty the floor is) and loud music (maybe too loud). We sat upstairs (we had a reservation) and of all the people on the top there was a party of 4 (us), a party of 8 (all dudes celebrating something) and the rest of the tables were on a DATE - which I thought was funny. Service: We were served by Ann-Marie who was so delightful. She was kind, super nice, and took the time to speak to us (which is basically how we figured out she wasn't a native New York City person). She gave us good food suggestions and we were very happy with our selection. Food: Here is what we ordered * Steak Frites: My two boys got the steak frites and I have to say the steak was awesome! I had a bite of each of theirs and they each ordered it differently (one Medium Rare/Medium and one Medium) and they both were prepared PERFECTLY. The fries were overflowing. * Caeser Salad with Salmon: My wife got the salad with Salmon (they only have a few salad options) and she enjoyed it. * Prawn and Crab Risotto: I got this and I have to say it was VERY bland. I wouldn't get this if you are looking for taste. I had to put salt and pepper on it to make it have any semblance of taste. Value/Price: I would say this is not over priced but it is not cheap either...bill is attached.
