I ordered the oxtail with Rasta pasta, oxtail with white rice, curry chicken with white rice and a small order of the jerk chicken. The food was mid. It was just ok. The oxtail were the smaller pieces of the tail and none of the big meaty pieces, just the small end of the tail. Flavors was a bit lacking but edible. The curry chicken was eh. This beloved institution just opened on my block and I've been waiting for months so was eager to try it. So was the rest of the neighborhood as there was a line out the door. What I got was a packed - and I mean packed - tin full of about half a chicken chopped into various sized pieces and a heap of smokey rice and peas. This was more than enough for two meals! The chicken was tender and juicy and full of heat. Bone sucking good! The rice also had a smokey flavor with added curry sauce. Very complex and unusual flavors. I'm sure Jamaican food experts will have more nuanced reviews of this but suffice to say my belly was full and I was extremely happy after I devoured a huge helping. Can't wait to go back and try more things. Please note this is strictly a take out place. There is NO place to sit and given the small size of the place and it's popularity even standing against the one small counter is not possible.
