I must say that Joe is one of the most responsive, honest and dedicated trades people I have worked with over my many years. He was up front about their full schedule for the next 2 months but he was able to squeeze us in and came himself to do ours two days after quoting - before they got into their big jobs. The work is of excellent quality, he is very meticulous and cleans up well after. My wife and I respect that his family is a priority - he had to come back two days after pouring the leveling because the day after he had a family event to attend. He communicates all aspects of the job up front and his pricing is very fair for the quality of work you will receive. Joe is our "go to " Flooring guy from now on. But I was really drawn to Bauer because their team was noticeably thoughtful as they evaluated my existing flooring, and the strategy they discussed in how best to tackle the project. It was clear that this was a company that took pride in every project they took on, and were not in the habit of cutting corners. It was also a very competitive bid compared to other well-known flooring companies. They did not disappoint. From a duration estimate, professionalism, availability / communication, and quality standpoint, we could not be more pleased. The leveling and floor preparation process alone was something to be behold. Previous to hiring them, I had idle thoughts of taking on our flooring as a DIY. But there's no way I could have done what they did in this leveling process. We had 3 different types of floors across this space, and before they even began the installation, the preparation / leveling could have almost stood as a completed "concrete" floor. I even joked with the installer that just in removing / leveling what we had previously, they had already improved the look and continuity of our flooring. In the end, we're extremely pleased with the vinyl flooring installed as well as the baseboards and the new aesthetic it all creates for our downstairs. The installers came and did a great job and everything looked perfect. One small thing I want to point out is that the carpet scraped one side of the wall when they were cutting or laying it down, and didn't mention a word about it to me. I had to get the paint out and paint the wall about 1' by 5'. I didn't like that they couldn't fess up to that. I'm sure it must happen a lot of times. I'd go back again when my next room is ready for new flooring!

Nick arrived exactly at the appointed time, took a quick look (and listen) at my door and diagnosed the problem in a minute or two. Then, since the problem was a seal on the door, asked me if I simply wanted him to remove the seal to stop the sound, and gave me the pros and cons of doing so. I said yes and he removed the seal and put things back together. He gave me some tips on what to use to lubricate the door, as well as--if I ever wanted to replace the door--what I should look for and how to save money. Nick was knowledgeable, personable and effective in solving my problem. I highly recommend Oahu Windows and Doors.

We did a two phase remodel, the first of which was in anticipation of our coming to HI to retire. Sean was recommended by our property manager. We were doing this during a pandemic, from 2500 miles away, learning very quickly how limited decorator choices were on island. Like another reviewer stated, Sean was amazing. He would send texts with videos, comparisons, suggestions not only for materials but having worked in other units in our development, suggested upgrades and changes he'd done or seen that we frankly wouldn't have thought to do. These were truly suggestions, not an up sale because some weren't in his favor. He finished on time and it was pretty darn perfect when we arrived. A month later we attacked the kitchen. Sean again rose to the occasion, getting the job done under the estimated time and we absolutely love it, it's better than we ever thought it could be. With a referral from a friend of mine, I hired them to remodel may living room which looks old. Vintage is all the rage now but modern living room is very pleasing to the eye. Our downstairs neighbors' ceiling was starting to bulge because of a leak coming from our place. After a plumber came in the fix the leak I needed to find someone quickly to take care of the giant hole the plumbers had to make in our neighbors' ceiling. I remember how quick they were to reach out when they wanted our business / $ but when we needed follow up assistance, no reply at all. I didn't realize just how much space I would gain with the awesome pull out drawers and roll out cabinet shelves. No more worries about wonky drawers that fall out or possible creepy crawlies messing with our utensils and dishes. Ours was an original 70's kitchen so you can imagine how dated and broken-down it was. Kalani and his specialists really gave our sad kitchen a huge update. We had everything done. From taking out a side wall with electrical running through it to new cabinets, tile flooring, and all new kitchen/pantry/living room lighting. Surprise surprise, on day one during demo, they found mold. Thankfully, took care of that issue. Then came our outdated electrical lines. They changed the lines and brought it all I up to code. Any questions or issues that arose, Kalani made sure to respond and provide solutions. Believe me when I say, older places come with a lot of hiccups so we appreciate Kalani and his expertise. We contacted several contractors for our master bathroom renovation for my elderly mom, but many of…read morethem did not get back to us in a timely manner... Spencer, from Kurihara Contracting, was different. He got back to us and quickly and scheduled a visit. Upon meeting him, we felt very at ease and comfortable. He was very knowledgable and seemed to be a straight shooter (I wanted some storage over the toilet and he straight up told me that would be weird because it would block the bathroom window). After listening to what we were thinking, he came up with a plan and gave us an estimate. We didn't get any renderings (not sure if bathroom renovations get those?) but we knew he knew what he was doing, so it wasn't really an issue - Mom and I were trusting he and his team's professionalism and it worked! Did we have any idea of the cost of a bathroom renovation? No. Was it more than I imagined it to be? Honestly, yes. But after the job was done, did I think it was worth it? ABSOLUTELY YES. The job Kurihara Contracting did with our master bathroom was AWESOME. And I think with this company, you get what you pay for - The professionalism, consideration, final product...chef's kiss! Our bathroom looks so much larger and brighter! We just love it. We were also able to upgrade to a toilet we wanted (something really important to my mom ;D).
