Omar did such a great job on our son' hair. It didn't take much explanation for him to know exactly what it was I was looking for and I can honestly say that this is the first time I've ever been really happy with my sons haircut. We've been to a couple of different kids barbers and have never really been happy with the cuts given to our son, so it was so refreshing to have someone who was able to give such a great cut and to give nice tips on styling and recommended frequency of cuts. Came here today for my daughter's first haircut. Omar was so great. He is very personable and made this experience a pleasant memory for me and my daughter. We paid $30, got to keep a lock of her hair and a little certificate. He gave her a little heart braid with a bow and she loved it. She was afraid to get her first haircut, but is now asking me to go get another haircut tomorrow. Will be back for her next cut. read more

I am forever grateful to Omar for being so patient with my kid who hates getting a haircut. He would throw such loud tantrums and won't let anyone touch his hair. The last time we visited my son let Omar cut his hair and didn't even shed a tear. The service is top notch and I have always been happy with my son's haircut. We have been to two other places and each time I have regretted not waiting enough for island cuts appointment bec the haircuts have been terrible. Omar is hands down the best barber when it comes to kids haircuts. However, the owner is extremely rude. She didn't let Omar put gel on my son's hair and style it as he always has because she didn't want it. She's crazy and unfortunately, he has to do what she says. We won't be back because of her but it's a shame because we love Omar's work. He needs to step out on his own. She is going to make him lose clientele over time. read more

Such a fantastic place for a kid's haircut! We came here based on the great reviews and this place delivers! Omar is so patient with all the kids and does such a phenomenal job cutting their hair! Our son is only 1.5 so he's a bit nervous and squirmy, and yet Omar still manages to cut and buzz his hair so beautifully! It also grows out really well! You can tell Omar really cares about the well being of the children and is very accommodating to make sure they feel at ease. Can't recommend this place enough! We will continue to go here for all our son's haircuts! read more

Omar is great but the older lady in the shop was a bit rude and greedy. She raised the price of the haircut from $30 to $50 just because my child has curly hair. Meanwhile every other time we came here Omar only charged us $30 when she wasn't there. Just seems a bit underhanded. read more

We had such a wonderful experience at Island Cuts! My daughter hadn't had her haircut in a salon for over a year due to covid. This place does a great job with cleanliness, temperature checks and mask-wearing. I believe they only allow one appointment in the salon at a time, so it was just myself, my daughter and Omar. My daughter was a bit shy, but Omar was lovely and patient with her. And the layered cut he gave her is adorable! I highly recommend Island Cuts! read more

The place was very clean and they space out their appointments so they don't have too many people in the salon at the same time due to COVID.
