What a waste of my time. I didn't expect a bait and switch. been getting my haircut here for years. I booked an appointment online to do a single color process on medium hair which was $56, Plus a $26 haircut which total was about 80+ dollars. Somehow when I got there it turned into $130. The stylist explained with a straight face that the extra money was To pull the dye down from my the top of my head,down to the rest of my hair, and that cost extra and made it two processes even though it was a single color. I think they hire recent beauty school graduates who need to get experience somewhere. You never know who your "stylist" is going to be, and the haircuts are usually mediocre. If you don't care, you won't mind. Frankly, I cut my own hair most of the time and just go to a Supercuts location (different locations depending on my day's travels) with a freshly washed head of hair and ask for a light trim about every 9 months or so. I usually go home and take the scissors to a few "off" spots and I'm ok. If I could really do the back of my own hair precisely, I wouldn't go at all. That written, the last time I was there, the stylist added mousse and tried to talk me into buying a can. I said no 10 times and that I didn't want to spend the extra $. She said it is on sale for $4 - so I said ok, but when she went to ring it up, you had to buy 4 cans to get the sales price. I said no thank you. Then, she said I'll give you my employee discount. You know what? She bamboozled me into it spending $6 for a can of mousse. Yes, my hair is thin, but I left thinking she was a great salesperson, not so great a stylist. Can't remember her name, and it does't matter, b/c next time I go, she won't be working there - it is a revolving door at every location. read more

Went here originally for just a cut but ended up getting a wash cut and blowdry , it was just $41. I never had a stylist more understanding and comforting as , i believe her name was Chrislynn(so sorry if im wrong) but she was great! She explained to me what i really needed to cut off and how often. What products i should use as well as some advice on my overall lifestyle because we got into more of a deep conversation and she was very helpful with her advice from her experience. I appreciated that. I loved my cut and blow dry and i am a tough critic when it comes to my hair and who does it but she did amazing ! Awful experience on 3/2/2020. And afterwards had to go somewhere else for to fix my awful haircut, and my sons.

Extremely disappointed. A waste of money and time. All I wanted was a tiny trim. I came in with long layered hair that I wear parted to the side. The stylist, I think his name was Nelson, did not seem comfortable or experienced at all with cutting long hair, and I wish he would have said so, because I would have waited for the other hair stylist. First, he tried to part my hair down the center once, had a difficult time, and left my hair parted unevenly down the center for the trim. After spending a long time trying to figure out how to brush and separate my hair, he spent very little time trimming the back, and then less then one minute trimming each side, with no attention to layers at all, and no care taken to make sure the trim was even. I am now left with an extremely blunt and jagged "trim" with my shorter layers untouched, I could have done a better job myself. read more

This place must be named SuperFast Cuts... If you want your head shaved by the razor machine then this is the place to go. But if you want a decent hair cut or hair style then avoid this place. I feel the staff are not trained stylist or have any idea about it. They just know how to use the razor and finish your haircut with in 1 minute. They don't care what hair style suites you. I'm a wash n wear kinda gal so I love this place. My daughter came in and $32 for a wash, cut n blow dry. They recommend but don't do a hard upsell, plus the staff is friendly and they try to get you in asap. I prefer this location as opposed to the East Rutherford one, which has staff that has given me attitude. If you use their color services, the results are good but the prices are steep, $55 and up, especially if you pile on a haircut. Your basic haircut (without a wash and blow dry) is $14, which I like in the spring-summer. They often have raffles here, which makes for a good deal. read more

My boyfriend got his hair cut yesterday and had to pay a Covid cleaning charge. I think he said that it was $3.00. I find that ridiculous. Shouldn't a hair salon/barbershop always be taking measures to keep their instruments and facility clean with or without Covid? This place has one money sign indicating it's expense and I'm not sure why, maybe I was ripped off. I went in with my hair already washed, I have plain Jane simple straight hair. I went to the same Italian barber for over 20 years but he is no longer available so I went to so many different places and I always left feeling like I could have done better with Flowbee. It stinks when you get a cut and leave disappointed. I researched the web and found that the Lyndhurst Supercuts had a long time stylist and her name was Andrea (Drea). I made an appointment with her and drove 15 miles to Lyndhurst and hands down she is the best!!! I will not go to anyone else. She is superior to my Italian barber and the best thing is when I go there I don't even have to tell her what type of cut I want because she remembers. I don't need to watch what she is doing and I always leave feeling more than satisfied. She is also extremely personable and greets you with a big hello and a smile. If I can give them negative stars I would. At this point, if you are considering going to this Supercuts, GO ELSEWHERE! I have been taking my daughter here for about a year now to get her hair straightened. For a basic wash, blow out, and iron, it would run about $25.00 plus tip. This is the reason we went here. Quick cheap and effortless. Today we went, and to make it even easier, just wanted a blow out. No wash, no iron. Spent all of 20 minutes in there and now the price was $35.50?!?! For a 20 minute blow dry? When questioned the answer was that we couldn't find your daughter in the system..... you know this is corporate....... there is new management....... if you bought a package it would have been cheaper....... It's not about the money, it's about customer experience and knowing your customers. It's about communicating which clearly they do not do here. I came in last week to get a haircut, as I usually only get a few inches cut straight off my hair and I found that this place usually gets the job done well. Unfortunately, last week, I received one of the worst haircuts of my life. A stylist named Deeana cut my hair, and I have no idea if she was trying to rush and get rid of me or she has no idea how to cut hair. She only split my hair into three sections and cut these huge chunks of hair straight across (which of course it came out uneven since she was cutting huge pieces altogether.) When I said to cut off only a half inch more, she didn't even reseparate my hair, and instead just put the scissor up to my hair and cut. Not only did she cut off an inch and a half of hair instead of the half an inch I asked for, but since she was blindly cutting freehand, the haircut is incredibly uneven. Then, there were longer hairs underneath that hadn't been cut to the current length (due to her not separating into small pieces before cutting). In order to cut these, she did not even touch my hair, but instead just moved the scissors underneath my hair and against my neck, and just blindly cut all around my head. In the end, I was stuck with a too short and incredibly uneven haircut. Deeana gave me the worst haircut I have ever received, and I am appalled that I received this kind of service. I'm writing this review to warn anyone planning on going to this Supercuts to either choose a stylist you know and trust, or avoid this establishment completely. read more

I'm one of those people that values convenience above all, which is why I stopped going to salons and started going to supercuts. It works into my schedule when I need it to since you don't need to book in advance. Plus it's more affordable. But I'm also super picky about my hair. Ive been traumatized by bad experiences with people who didn't know how to work with it (thick, curly, frizz prone), and I've been anal about it ever since. My initial experiences at the east Rutherford supercuts were not very good, so I gave lyndhurst a try and since then it's been my regular place. I go once a month for color. It was a lot of trial and error to find the color I was really looking for, but now that I have a formula that works the results are consistent and I'm always happy with it. Beyond the service itself, the girls here are super friendly and patient. I have a knack for showing up at bad times and they never make me feel guilty if they have to stay to finish my services. Andrea is my go to and she's great. I have high maintenance moments sometimes and she goes out of her way to make me happy, and she does it with a smile on her face. I also recommend Angela as well as Dawn (and Michelle too, even though she's at another location now). I stick to the same stylists that I know work for me, but everyone else that works here seem to make their other customers hAppy, and I go so frequently I think that says something. For anyone needing color as often as I do, once you get into a routine and the girls know what you want your life will be ten times easier for it. I'm very happy coming here. read more

On Sunday the morning of my son's wedding, I received a call from my hairdresser saying that he couldn't do my hair due to electrical problems at his shop. After I stopped crying, I thought of supercuts. I had gone there for haircuts before & usually got a decent haircut. When I walked in, Dawn, who had done my eyebrows on Thursday asked if she could help me. I explained the situation & she said not to worry, she could do my hair. She calmed me down & then proceeded to give me a great hair style. Later at the reception I received many compliments about my hair & when I told them my near "disaster" story they were shocked when they realized my great hair style came from supercuts!! If someone is so willing to post hateful personal attacks towards someone's appearance and then publicly name them on yelp in response towards what he thinks was a bad haircut, would you really trust his opinion? He's probably one of those ridiculously hair obsessed, lip gloss and eyeliner wearing guidos that there are way too many of around here. The gals at this particular supercuts are all amazing. I'm sure every single one of them at this point has worked on my big ugly head and they've all done a perfect job every single time. Honestly, as a man, rather than going to such a female friendly place I'd prefer to go to one of those old-timey dudes only places and have some antiquated guy cut my hair, there's plenty of those places around here but they're NEVER OPEN EVER, plus, the gals at the Lyndhurst supercuts are faster, more accurate, more artistic, more careful and caring than any man who's ever cut my hair in my life anyway! They've got a customer for life with me. And the business is a great deal! A haircut is as cheap as it was when I was a kid, I've had all sorts of coupons from them, FREE haircuts too and nothing but the most friendly service ever. Even when I walk in 20 minutes before closing like a jerk when I'm sure all they want to do is clean up and go home, I've never been greeted with even the slightest hint of an attitude, I'm welcomed in with big smiles and reassurance and a great cut has always followed.
