I came into this with this surgery being my 6th surgery in 13 months. I've been a professional patient and certified pin cushion lately. I'm aware that I am a hard stick and notified staff of this. I also told them I was severely traumatized by my last operative experience and even as they initially brought me back I was begging for them to let my husband, my one source of comfort come back. It was denied. I was terrified and only wanted him and was bawling my eyes out the entire time just begging for him to be allowed back. It continued to be denied. As it came time to place my IV I directed the nurse to my best venous access sites and the nurse was unsuccessful. After the 4th attempt I asked for an ultrasound guided IV to help prevent me more pain. My nurse Erin got frustrated when she was looking at a particular spot and I told her 'I'm going to need an ultrasound I'm telling you' and she dropped the gurney, threw her hands up and let out a frustrated sigh and said 'ok'. Way to make me feel heard there. They refused to do that. Anesthesia was able to get a 22g in my hand that eventually blew like I told them it would. I told them areas specifically to avoid due to knowing these sites wouldn't work. Intraop 6 more attempts were made specifically in places I requested to not be attempted for cannulation. I woke up seeing all these bruises and feeling completely violated as I did not consent for what they did to me. I know my own body. I came in terrified and traumatized and left even more so. I expected more of Baptist than this. A patient advocate contacted me and you could tell by her tone that she did not give a half a crap about this. Do not recommend this hospital they do not respect patients and their bodily autonomy and will do whatever they please to you at your most vulnerable state. They also will refuse you your support person. Absolutely zero compassion and kindness

Of course, waiting times totally depend on the volume of patients in the ER and the need for the various diagnostic machines. But, both times we though the wait was relatively speedy for the doctor to come into the room. Before that happens, various staff attends to you, does tests, gets info. The hold-up may come when the results of the tests have to be read and then a report written for the ER doctor to convey to the patient. In our cases, my hip was okay but my husband did have a broken rib. But it's so much better to know what you're dealing with than be guessing. And, if the visit to the ER can be welcoming and efficient, so much the better. The only reason there are four stars instead of five is that the CT machine was not working and because of construction, one cannot park close to the ER. (It's not overly far but if you're hurting, the walk is not pleasant.)

Purna his buddy for sharing some great stories with him, Cindy respiratory his angle as he wrote on his paper because he did not want to talk because his oxygen would decrease. Nursing, CNA, and Respiratory was very compassionate (he said everyone cared, loved their jobs and we had such a great team), everyone made him feel at home, he was so comfortable. Thank you, Dr. McCoskey, Dr. Kreiger, Alex the heart guy as John would say. John absolutely praised each and every one he encountered. He also said that Dr. in the white coat with short hair that held my hand during a very difficult time was so sweet (Susan). Thank you for making his time comfortable and enjoyable. Thank you for the laughter and joy you all shared with my brother. This place is amazing, and I knew my brother was in good hands and I trust them with my life. I would recommend Kindred to everyone I know or encounter it is an amazing specialty hospital. Thank you all for all you do each and every day. You all touch so many people's lives in so many ways you do not even know. My brother was admitted for care and, within hours, was left in respiratory distress without timely suctioning, and his feeding tube was not even connected, leaving him without nutrition for an extended period. Despite repeated requests, staff response was delayed and inconsistent. Throughout his stay, we experienced ongoing issues with call lights going unanswered, lack of basic hygiene care, and unprofessional, dismissive communication from staff. On one occasion, a staff member spoke to him in a demeaning manner rather than addressing his concerns. Most concerning was the lack of urgency during a medical emergency. When he experienced severe respiratory distress, staff response was delayed, and emergency services were only called after persistent family advocacy. He was later hospitalized, where the findings indicated a severe case of pneumonia. No family should have to repeatedly advocate just to ensure basic, timely care for their loved one. This experience raised serious concerns about patient safety, responsiveness, and overall quality of care. I hope the facility takes meaningful corrective action to prevent this from happening to others.

She accidentally and unknowingly ingested something she's highly (anaphylaxis) allergic to at work. Urgent Care was notified we were going there since it was 5 minutes away vs 25 minutes to the E.R. We were immediately put into a room and the doctor strolled in 2 minutes later (time is of the essence with allergies apparently the doctor wasn't taught that in Med school, or possibly he just skipped that day of school), after looking at her with trouble breathing, her throat tighting, heart rate increased, swelling in her face, stomach pain, and difficulty talking; he still was in no hurry to give her an EPi. Instead, the doctor insisted she had anxiety from being nervous about her allergy ingestion. Minutes into this complete sh_t show, my older daughter looks at the doctor and sharply said "we told you she ingested what she's anaphylactic too, are you going to give her an EPi or not"? The doctor kept insisting she had anxiety KNOWING she ingested food she has anaphylaxis too, but agreed to give her an EPi. About a minute later one of the nurses comes in and gives my daughter an EPi. During this whole circus, there were more staff than needed in the room and doorway, so much for privacy as they had to pull her pants down for the EPi, I say more than needed because they were just watching things unfold, not assisting, documenting or anything medically necessary just standing there, OHHH and lets not forget the receptionist jammed into the door way that was so worried about getting the $25 copay while my daughter was in the middle of an anaphylaxis reaction. As if $25 is going to close or keep open the doors of the facility. The careless doctor comes back in and blurts out "well if she doesn't start to come around, we'll have to transport her by ambulance to the E.R. " Well Mr. Genius M.D., if you had given her an EPi when we first got here, it wouldn't have taken as long for her to come around. It was also enlightening to know only 1 nurse at the Urgent care knows how to administer an EPi.... you read that right, only 1 nurse, that was unprompted offered up information. SO the moral is if you want to be given worse than back alley care, and I use the word care VERY lightly, or potentially leave worse than you went in, this is the place for you.

My primary is here and I frequent the hospital every 3 months for a routine check. Way to go Baptist on keeping up with the times and being very patient focus. Parking is another ball of wax all together. I make do. I'll finish with testing. The staff introduced themselves and explained both procedure. There was a little trouble with sticking my vein but I didn't mind one bit. I am off to have some needed rest.

I'm always greeted when I arrive and acknowledged when I leave, something that seems small but speaks volumes about the culture. Every staff member I've encountered has been professional, kind, and accommodating. The building is clean, well-run, and welcoming. Most importantly, I trust the people here with my health and that trust has been earned year after year. Wonderful people, who seem to care about the patients, doing meaningful work.
